Who is the bozo Darling?
I specifically saw two instances in the 6th inning, one to Castillo and one to Cabrera where Mussina didnt get that call either. So it's not all going one way. Though while the strike-zone has been semi-consistent, it's still laughable how much of a hitters umpire this guy is.

Marlins vs Yankees---8:00---at the PRO
What, the Yankees need help from the umpires to score? They can't hit and EARN it like REAL MEN? Its now the Yankees fault that an ump blew the call? Its not like they paid off the umpires... Bad calls happen during ball games, this just happens to be a bad call in the 1st degree. Im sure a call will go the Marlins way before the night is done. And its not like the ball wasnt right down the pipe either. Yes, I think it was a strike, but it was at least debateable.

Fox's NLCS Coverage biased towards Marlins?
Coverage has NOT been favorable to Marlins. McCarver is a homer, and Buck goes along with his NY nonsense. Actually, Tim McCarver has been a known Yankee hater for some years and absolutely refused to give the Yankee dynasty of the late 90's any credit at all. Just watch the tapes of the late 90's Yankee games on FOX. I guess you didnt see those. Though I must admit, so far in the World Series he has made some pro-yankee comments (Though he hasnt shut the Marlins out completely either). Then again, you have to root for someone since the cubs and sox didnt make the series... :confused Hey I never said Fox's WORLD SERIES coverage has been biased towards the Yankees, it has actually been pretty fair, (Although ESPN'S coverage has blatenly favored the Yankees.) All i'm saying is it's crazy to say the NLCS coverage favored the Marlins. Oh no, I thought would you said was fine and I actually agreed. The Marlins didn't get nearly as much 'love' as the Cubs did in the NLCS. I was just a little confused by Marco's sentiments.

Anti-Yanks Sign
How about a pro-marlin sign instead of an anti-yankee one? Thoughts?

Marlins vs Yankees---8:00---at the PRO
6 errors? Holy Crap... Though with Soriano and Giambi playing the infield anythings possible... :confused Im not going to predict a team but rather a score...I say someone will win by the score of 3-2.
-
I know this is late....
Also he and Soriano "might have the best arm strength" for second basemen in baseball . . ." but only give his throwing a 60 rating? I think that's because by 'throwing' they meant both accuracy as well as power. Soriano is very erratic at times at 2nd base and has been known to throw easy balls into the stands...A small, low profile case of Steve Sax disease.

How they were built
OR, just maybe, like marlins02 said, their success is due to good decisions in the front office? Good decisions? Like paying 3.5 mil for Contreras just so the Red Sox couldn't get him at 3mil? We beat the Red Sox in the 7th game of the ALCS. He could've been in there instead of Wakefield... I think the 3.5 was worth it.
-
How they were built
He throws one of the, if not the best split fingered fastball in baseball. He is getting 8 million and will be in the Yankees starting rotation for at least 3 more years. With his stuff and velocity 8 million is well worth it.
-
I know this is late....
Yeah, I felt that was a pretty inaccurate reading of both teams, especially the # rankings. Some people need to actually watch some games before judging...:-X
-
How they were built
(except Hitchcock, Contrerras, Irabu and others) Contreras is/will be well worth the money. He was not a mistake, just look at his stuff.

Marlins vs Yankees---7:30pm---at Yankee Stadium
Why on earth is Pavano even in this game?
-
Marlins vs Yankees---7:30pm---at Yankee Stadium
It was indeed a foul ball, went right off his ankle. According to rule if it touches you its a dead ball.
-
Did the Marlins have?
Yes, he has indeed pitched in the major leagues before. He threw in 7 games this season with a 6.00 ERA.
-
Did the Marlins have?
Actually, I do believe he's pitched in the Major Leagues before. I'll check on it for you.
-
Did the Marlins have?
That 3.92 ERA is saying quite a bit about the kid, he started off terribly, and once he moved to the pen he eventually straightened himself out.
-
Did the Marlins have?
Jimmy Journell was in the Cardinals Organization this year and rated as their top prospect by BA. Though the Cardinal organization isn't exactly the deepest, its still nice to be #1. Before the season he was a starter, but they tried moving him to the pen after he fell apart in April in May. Last time I checked he was just getting back to form.

Is this must-win for NYY?
The Yankees could still win this series if they lost tonight, if that's what your asking. It's not like the Yankees are going to Florida to play in baseballs Lambeau Field. Ive seen too many crazy things happen in this season/playoffs to believe any team is put away before the final out. Just say the yankees went up 3-1 in this series somehow, I still wouldnt think the series is over. Ive seen too much craziness to think otherwise.

SPORTSCENTER GETS PLAYED!
Hah. I know I said I wouldnt post again til the WS is over with but since its not about the WS Ill just throw my thoughts out there. Funniest thing about that was how Dan just pauses and says, "...We've been had..." Too funny!

Baseball Prospectus.... analysis...NYC vs FLA
Alright, Last time Ill be back until the end of the series, good luck to both teams. My prediction: Yankees in 5 Ill be back if we lose though to congratulate you on a job well done. Here's to a good series!

Baseball Prospectus.... analysis...NYC vs FLA
sorry, I think the Marlins lineup is just as good as the Yankees, if not better Go 1-9 and give me your reasoning, heck maybe Im missing something... :cool

Baseball Prospectus.... analysis...NYC vs FLA
No, i'm telling you the Marlins have a better lineup than the Yankees do, and that the Yankees staff is tired and old. And also, the Yankees staff is hittable against, the Marlins hit well against the Cubs, who have a much better staff than the Yankees, so they are going to score plenty of runs on the Yankees IMO. 1. The Marlins have a better lineup...? What? Come on man, get real. I've been as fair as I can be when predicting this series, but you're being ridiculous. I hope that was a typo. 2. Yankees staff is tired and old, very true. But it's been tired and old the whole playoffs and they've pulled through, why can't they now? The Red Sox offense is much more potent than the Marlins and they won that series...Why is the Yankees pitching all the sudden going to collapse? 3. The Cubs do not have Mariano Rivera (Yankees v. Marlins games are 7 innings long, keep that in mind), and their rotation is nothing after Mark Prior and Kerry Wood. While old, this rotation isnt just some crap on the side of the road here

Baseball Prospectus.... analysis...NYC vs FLA
the marlins pitchers rise up when the team most needs it. Is that not the essence of the Yankees?

So here it is.... Wells vs Penny... Game 1
Wells vs. Penny Interesting. Fish win 14-13 in 10. Actually I think completely opposite of you. Wells has actually been the best pitcher for us so far this postseason, and Brad Penny isn't just going to lay down to the Yankees either. Marlins win Game 1 -- 4-3
