  1. The marlins will win because they will kill the Yankees pitching. Wait your telling me the Marlins have better starting pitching than the Yankees do?
  2. Trust me you would much rather face the Yankees than the Sox if you want to win. Their lineup is absolutely devastating...There is simply no easy out. The Yankees have battled hard against the Sox, but even as a Yankee fan I see the BoSox taking this game tonight.

  4. I've actually seen Denny Bautista pitch live at the ballpark. He's without a doubt a stud, his stuff is simply amazing. The only question with him is keeping it together, he has been known to get a little lazy on the mound and that was the cause for his bad record in the past. But this year, the kid has absolutely turned it on. Some of you fail to realize that playing at his age at his minor league level is VERY rare...The scary thing is, he is having success at that level. So was Ricky Ledee. But so was Barry Bonds. So was Pedro Martinez. Ricky Ledee was just one of the yankees many overhyped prospects. The Yankees do/did it all the time so that they have more trade bait in case they need another player down the stretch. NEVER take any hype that the Yankees spit at their own players at face value.

Well congratulations to the spurs...The Nets simply collapsed in the fourth quarter, again. You guys have quite a stud there in TD. He can really play a great game of basketball, and as jason kidd put it "without pounding his chest or screaming." Even though my team lost, I guess it was good to see David Robinson go out like that, congrats to him on a superb career, and for being a great guy personally. You have a solid nucleaus built and I look for more of the same next season. Im sure the Nets will be back here next year (assuming they sign kidd) via the weak east. Maybe we'll meet again in the finals someday, and maybe the nets will actually show some heart in the 4th quarter... Until then, Bryan.

and regarding Mutombo... I guess they dusted off his fossilized 90 year old bones for one game..... Actually he's more like 100 :lol I swear listening to him talk is like listening to my great grandpa talk. Yeah his mid game interview was hard on the ole ears. BTW - Ever hear Tim Legler do a Deke impersonation? He sounds just like him, its hilarious I dont expect to see him have that much of an impact in game 3. Well we will see. I could see both the Admiral and Deke coming out ready for game 3, as they both will get their needed rest. Also, I like what ABC is doing with the Budweiser Hot Seat. That's always a good listen before the show starts. Only problem is Jim Grey (or is it Gray) does it. And to steal your phrase, He's a stiff .

nice of you to show up after a victory bryan..... I notice you werent here after the loss... I stayed at my Nets board and cleaned up all the crap on it after that game. A couple of Spurs fans were trolling it up. Next time, ill be sure not to miss you. Count on it. The Spurs all year have turned the ball over and missed free throws...that is nothing new. Yeah we agree - time #1. The Nets adjusted on defense and did a good job of not allowing, especially Duncan to go off. Well, its nice to see they get at least some defensive credit from you. The Spurs are a better road team... Agreement #2. No team has ever won the middle 3. It will not happen this year neither. The Spurs played like total crap this game, and have only played one decent half this finals.... Funny so have the Nets, they played the last two quarters real well. Game 1 the Spurs simply dominated the Nets in the third quarter. Duncan couldn't be stopped at that point. The Nets forced some turnovers, the Spurs had some unforced turnovers.... That's basketball... Agreement #3 - Good defense by the Nets. It was almost identical to what the Spurs did in game 1. I also noticed that in your couple of words on game 1...you gave the Spurs no credit. I gave the Nets credit in my analysis prior to this series.... Yeah you'd be right, that's my fault. Sorry - I wasnt really thinking about the Spurs side though. Just thinking about what the Nets did wrong. Ill try to be more even when posting in the future You have do nothing other than be a homer Net fan..... As I said up there, Ill try to be more even when posting in the future as far as comments on the game. But - I haven't had the time to really get in-depth on series analysis - stupid exams are holding me back. Sorry. I offered analysis...granted slanted toward the Spurs...but then again the Spurs are the favored team in this series.... You have offered nothing but crap.... What about my analysis was crap exactly? I said that the Nets didnt bring their A game. As I said Ill be more 'both team' oriented from now on. And thats all I have to say here The Spurs do not lose two in a row like this.....they will come out and destroy the Nets Sunday. Watch and observe. Nets have played great at home in the playoffs this postseason. I look forward to a great game, with both teams bringing all they got. David Robinson will probably be rejuvenated, and I look for both teams to be on top of their games. Check the italics in the quote box.

"They turned the ball over 8 million times." Almost all were forced turnovers (otherwise known as good defense). "They couldnt make free throws. Duncan went 3-10 from the line." Yup, thats been the Spurs downfall all playoffs, choking. The Nets hit theirs, the Spurs simply didnt. "Spurs make free throws and/or do not turn the ball over, they win going away." The Nets recognized that Duncan has been struggling from the line this year and at the end they were intentionally fouling him, just to put him on the line, knowing there was a good chance of a choke. And as far as turning the ball over, none of those would've happened if the Nets hadnt played such solid defense. "As it is, even with playing like garbage, they still had a game winning shot and a chance to shatter the Nets hearts." I notice ZERO credit was given to the Nets defense (the exact defense the Suns played - and yes that was successful too)...Hmmm...It couldn't have been that the Nets simply played good D tonight...No...couldnt be. "The Spurs will adjust to 90 year old Mutombo." and "If Mutombo plays extended minutes, I am very happy, as he is nothing more than a big stiff at this point in his career....with no offensive game and no ability to rotate on defense." - From a post in your other thread. :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol I know really, what a stiff! He's so bad he stumped the Spurs inside game! Man, is he ever stiff. "I hope the Nets still have some more tricks, cause if that was their best.....the Nets are in trouble. " You lost a game at home, giving up home court. You had momentum, you had confidence, and you had the crowd on your side, and yet the Nets still won. Jeez, dont downgrade a great job by the Nets or anything. And no, the Nets didnt do their best. They still missed a ton of open threes. Just wait until we get home, on our court, hitting our shots, with our crowd, our momentum, and our new re-found confidence. That will be the Nets at their best.

Oh and here is my 2 second analysis of game 2. Tony Parker wont outplay Jason Kidd - and the Nets will win. But - this will only happen if Deke plays 20-25 minutes and if the Jason Kidd hits his shots that we are so used to seeing him hitting. And if you dont believe that K-Mart played good Defense on Tim Duncan, you're absolutely nuts. He gives up 3-4 inches as well as quite a bit of poundage. You can't play a guy with that much of an advantage size wise any better.
  12. Bryan replied to Das Texan's topic in Sports
    1. I dont have time to post my entire feelings on the game. Sorry. 2. If the Nets were to lose Kidd (although I feel its highly doubtful they will. If you have read any recent comments its easy to see he is nearly 95% sure he is staying in Jersey) we are still a playoff team I think. Gary Payton has said he would love to play in NJ publicly before, and Im sure Andre Miller would be a good fit here.

Just another arrogant Spurs fan. You'll get yours.
  14. Bryan replied to Das Texan's topic in Sports
Alls I can say is, Just wait. You've seen 1 game. The Nets have had 10 days of rest. Give them time to get back on track. The Spurs won because of David Robinson having a superb influence. He scored, he rebounded and he made his team a ton better. We'll have to see if he can keep that up. If he can, the Nets are in major trouble, but if he can't, the Spurs are the ones in trouble.

...Now your just coming off as a Nets hater...
  16. Bryan replied to Das Texan's topic in Sports
Oh and my prediction, Nets in 6. You're making the Nets out like every other eastern conference team which they arent...This team is the two time defending Conference champs, winners of 10 straight, and have swept two straight teams out of the playoffs. You're going to be surprised...Im telling you right now.

I believe I read someone earlier on this thread... Who has Kenyon Martin defended in the playoffs? What kind of statement is that? 1.Antoine Walker - HE DOMINATED HIM. I think his series high was 17 points, and his average was around 12-13 in the series. This is an ALL-STAR we are talking about here. 2.Ben Wallace - Listen for a guy who has no touch he can still be an inside force. Kenyon shut down any second chance opportunities he had and he did an amazing job at keeping Ben off the offensive glass. Im guessing you havent watched any Nets playoff games?
  18. Bryan replied to Admin's topic in Sports
Ok. Jason Kidd over Tony Parker Kerry Kittles even with Stephen Jackson Richard Jefferson even/maybe over Bruce Bowen Tim Duncan over Kenyon Martin Malik Rose/David Robinson even with Aaron Williams/Jason Collins Jason Kidd is going to take Tony Parker to absolute school. We have 2 consistent scorers, you have 2 consistent scorers. We also have the second best defense in the NBA. Also, which team is more on fire and more confident right now? The Nets. The Nets cannot stop TD, and the Spurs cannot stop Jason Kidd. So it comes down to the roleplayers, and in my opinion, the Nets are just better right now. Clearly, we are going to disagree on this subject though, so Ill wait till after the Finals to make more comments (Whether I was wrong or right).

Id much rather face the Spurs then the Mavs if Im the Nets. And if you havent been impressed by 10 straight playoff wins...Then clearly, you just want to be anti-Nets. :angry Nets vs. Spurs? Nets in 6 Nets vs. Mavs? Mavs in 5

Well this years draft class, as you said, is extremely weak. Richie Weeks, Adam Loewen, and Delmon Young seem to be the only real strong prospects of the draft at this point. Weeks (Coming out of College, though I dont know where its at) looks to be an offensive machine at Second base. Loewen was the O's draft pick last year but they are yet to sign him. Theres probably a 50/50 chance he goes back into the draft, at least thats what Im hearing. Young (brother of dmitri) is a future MLB powerhouse, the guy can hit, period. Paul Maholm and Lastings Milledge are two guys I heard the Marlins might take a stab at. Milledge seemed to be a top 3-5 pick before the season, but he has struggled offensively this year. From what I hear he has amazing physical skills, though he needs to put it all together. Paul Maholm I dont really know much about, other than the fact that some teams are in love with him and others just arent -- at all!
  21. However strange this may sound...I think the odds are: 50% Yankees 25% Red Sox 15% Padres 10% Marlins I could see Loria dropping a pretty penny in Vladdy's wallet.
  22. The yanks have been pretty good I dont know about you...but 20-6 sounds more like great rather than good to me
  23. I was checking out baseball america today and came across the strangest batting stats I think I've ever seen. Rob Stratton - OF Albuquerque Isotopes AAA Pacific Coast League ------------------------------- Games 22 AB's 79 Homeruns 10 Stikeouts 41 AVG .215 Slugging .608 -------------------------------- Explain it if you can...
  24. From what I've heard and read, the general consensus is 4-6 weeks. That isnt to terrible, considering the way the injury looked first. Though, even if it was season ending or a more major injury, I wouldn't see it ruining Derek's career -- he has a lot of guts.
