the official I wanna die thread/club

Featured Replies

um, I dont wanna die. Yah we got royally screwed on the trade. But, the Gators won by 62 points. Furman won. The Marlins won. We are tied for the Wild Card lead. Nothin to complain about here.

nah, we just lost our future for a present we prbably wont win

NOTHING 2 worry about

AJ it's ok to be mad but I hope your joking about killing yourself. It aint worth it

meh

there will be many "future" players

anyway, he could be the next Paul Wilson or the next Curt Schilling....

who cares..... let's just win

What is the problem with some of the people in this board? Why all of the sudden people want to die because of a trade that makes a lot of sense to me and to a lot of other rational human beings? Are you crying over losing Bautista, who is 28 and 20 with a 3.54 ERA in 4 years, or are you crying over Levinski, a combined 16-17 with a 3.45 ERA? What about gettin a great player and an excellent LF with a lot of experience instead of a baby as Cabrera who still wets his bed? Stop crying over the goddamn prospects once and for all!!!

That's funny. I don't remember you all offering your martyrdom by suicide over the future of this team when Lowell was taken off the trading block, or when everyone who gets a Marlins' paycheck was signed to a one year deal, or when Pudge got signed to 10 mil for a year, etc. All of these moves were far more detrimental to the future of this team that giving up a 20 year old P in a farm system that has never developed a solid and durable #1 or #2 hurler.

:p All you gators can kill yourselves next sat. :p

Because Nebraska Owns Florida and Miami owns Nebraska I will be Cheering for the Gators. Go Gators! I hope Leak leads the Gators to a victory

That's a pretty ignorant comment. Why don't you do some research and name all the 21-year-olds currently in AA with more Ks than IP that can throw 98 mph.

A "great" player? An "excellent" LF? We got Jeff Conine.

I did some research and not because of your post exactly. My point is (there I go explaining myself once again) that some people in this board always find an excuse to complain about a team's move. No move is good for some people and they are always crying over losing some "prospect" or another. Losing two minor leaguers who are not a sure bet to become major leaguers one day is not a problem for me, but losing established players for more prospects is. The team is showing an evident interest to win it all and some people can't stop complaining.

BTW, if you don't think Conine is a great player, go a do some research of your own. Then let me know if you would have Banks or Hollandsworth handle LF... jesus!!! :banghead

Yeah? So how many 21-year-olds in AA with more Ks than IP are there?

Argh, this is such a tired argument. Sure, Bautista is not a sure bet. What the heck is? How do you know Conine will be as productive here as he was in Baltimore? How do you know Banks or Hollandsworth wouldn't have gotten hot in the last month of the season? How do you know acquiring Conine will push us into the playoffs? Even if we make the playoffs, how do you know we wouldn't have made the playoffs without Conine?

Obviously no prospect is a sure bet. But Bautista has about as much potential to be a star pitcher as any prospect out there. I would venture to guess that a huge chunk of pitchers who reach AA by age 21 and record more Ks than IP go on to become solid major leaguers. Now, the question you have to ask yourself is this: Is Jeff Conine and his 4 or 5 additional hits worth giving up a prospect who has at least a decent chance at becoming a star major league pitcher?

BTW, if you don't think Conine is a great player, go a do some research of your own.

You must have some pretty loose criteria for defining great players.

plz ppl this was a good trade about for the marlins. wow we gave up 2 prospects. how much room do we have in our roster spots do we have anyways. most likely none would start next year cuz if im correct all the pitchers are under contract except for pavano. the old marlins always thought bout the future and ended up no where. at least there thinking bout the present which what counts. so ever1 stop overeacting these prospects could turnout can be busts.

Now we have 2 players signed past this year :p

Welcome home Mr. Marlin! Good job Admin Beinfest and Trader Jack (I know you had something to do with Conine)

We are set to go.

So now we have 2 Mr. Marlins? :thumbup :)

Mike Lowell

Jeff Conine

Just a little Update on waiver claims. Twins Claimed Jesse Orosco from Yanks and the yanks let him go.

You do realize thats where major league players come from right? The minors? Its not some magical fairy land, its a place where you bring valuable and CHEAP players to your ML club.

Give me a break! You guys are whining -- YES, WHINING -- about losing a couple of prospects. And all of you that are expending the energy to complain would be expending just as much energy WHINING if they did not make a trade.

Some of you don't give a damn what the team does, all you want to do is complain constantly. It really is a case of damned if you do, damned if you don't around here.

No wonder this team can't get any support in this town.

GEEZ!!!

I'm happy the Marlins are putting in the effort to win NOW. But, I don't see this trade as necessarily getting a great hitter. If Conine plays every day, he'll probably get a few, maybe 5 more hits than Hollandsworth and Banks would. So, basically for 5 extra hits in Sept. we are sacrificing 2 prospects...no, not any prospects...top pitching prospects in our organization. People can complain about their records and ERA, but the reality is: they are some of our best minor league pitchers.

I'm guessing this trade has more to do with P.R. Yay, we are still trying to win. Yay, we bring back Jeff Conine. Yay, fans may show up.

I don't like the trade. But, whatever. Go Marlins. Beat the Expos today.

I imagine the O's will be paying som of Conine salary and allow Conine to stay with Fish next year at 1b to give stokes another year.Is all about win now so I like the move.

You guys need to realize that now we have an actual player tp replace Lee with next year, and for the same price Lee is this year!
