Who Starts at Third Today?
THIRD BASE I think Cabrera today, Lowell on Friday. Lowell will pinch hit in seventh today and play third. Cabrera will run for Lowell in sixth or seventh inning Friday and play third. What a wonderful, crazy challenge for Jack! (And us!) If Conine is cold at bat today, might see Cabrera in left Friday replaced defensively by Conine in the seventh. (Cabs maybe then to third base.) What a team! What a great problem. Glad Jack is there. And I won't second guess him because he's there, I'm not. (Thank God)

More from RAMP today?
RAMP's post-game remarks (see "Speechless" herein) on last nights Wrigley experience was fun reading. A dimension beyond the radio and TV broadcasts. Let's rattle RAMP's cage and try to get some more. What was he wearing? Marlins hat or shirt? Any wierd looks or remarks going in? Going out? Any threats? Any Cubs good sports? What's the Windy City like today (Wednesday). Talk on the streets, coffee shops. Is he walking around in Marlins garb? Add questions please. As I said, "Rattle His Cage." Anxious to hear from him on the personal experience of being there!

Nate Bump Added to Playoff Roster
We had two bench players who could play all four infield positions, Mordecai and Fox. Now, we have only one. So now we have a crap-shoot. Lenny Harris could wind up playing short? Tejera a pinch-runner? Bump a pinch-hitter? Jack blundered into an Alou.

Here come the Cub fans...
CubbyFL, You posted three times this morning. At least two of three had absolutely nothing to say. One of them (I think) may have now been blocked because you posted a sensational, negative head-line and said nothing at all to support it. You admitedly just discovered this site. If you have something to say, say it. Maybe your Cubs home-site allows this immature nonsense you post. Personally, your clutter annoys me. Grow up or go away.

PLEASE BAN ALL WHITE SOX FANS -
CubbyFL... you posted three times this morning, two of which had absolutely nothing to say. I am annoyed by your clutter (sensational negative head-line with no support whatsoever.)

Lil Schaap on Sportsreporters
I think as sportscasters/writers actually watch a couple of Marlins games (and do their requisite homework so they can sound smart)... they and all baseball fans will realize this low-payroll Marlins team is not a bunch of up-starts. They belong in contention and deserve admiration and respect. Been funny to watch and read local reporters trying to catch-up on who these Marlins are!

Marlins and Cubs
Thanks for the article. Very concise. If you were keeping a Season Scrap-book, you'd put that article in it. I disagree with his prediction (Cubs in seven) but I'll feel much better if we at least split the first two.

Reasons to hate the Cubs
TRASH TALK IS FOR LOSERS. Play baseball, talk baseball, but keep your trash to yourself and the family you infect.
-
Reasons to hate the Cubs
How childish, talking about "hating the Cubs." Let's go in with some class. And let the better team win. That will be the Marlins. But don't demean the Cubs fans enthusiasm. If one of their players does or says something unprofessional... then that's different. Trash talk is for losers.

My Favorite Wrigley Moment
My favorite moment in the Friendly Confines was Kevin Millar's inside-the-park homerun. The ball got lost in the right field wall ivy and Sosa couldn't find it! Let's do that again.

Angelic thoughts
It seems that Joe Angel isn't very popular in San Fransisco...In a poll conducted by the Mercury News 75.2 percent of votes gave Angel a "Thumbs down",with his work as a Giants broadcaster....14.5 percent were indifferent while 10.3 percent gave him a "Thumbs up". Hmmmm.... That's interesting. Surprising. But, thanks. (Wonder why.)

Angelic thoughts
If the Marlins want to give a gift to the fans... bring back Joe Angel. Anyone know the dollars involved? Let the talented, ambitious Boog go the way of the talented, ambitious Dave O'Brien. AND THE MARLINS ARE IN THE WIN COLUMN. And Joe matches up beautifully with Dave, Len and Tommy.
-
Angelic thoughts
No rotation needed if Joe comes back. Radio: Dave Van Horne and Joe Angel (great radio team) TV: Len Casper and Tommy Hutton (Top 5 TV team) Great broadcasting teams. I agree. But, Rotation worked. Gave us a fresh mid-game voice and one (actually two) disciplined as a radio broadcaster. (You didn't get three pitches to the batter with no broadcast calls!)
-
Who do you want to play?
Cubs. Hopefully, their pitching may poop out but the Braves sticks won't go limp.
-
Angelic thoughts
In Joe's last year, the ambitious, talented OB did not work with him. Just like Boog in Dave VH's first year. Enough of these BS ego squabbles.
-
Angelic thoughts
Joe is in my WIN COLUMN! He gave us a special identity when we had no identity.

Second-guessing Alou
Think I should not post this... but if Cab's had gone 0-fer yesterday, aren't there some herein who would be blasting Jack? Just like the 2nd guessing Giants fans. Teams get to the play-offs because of Mangers, too. Alou was stupid saying Schmidt took himself out. But, in fact, Schmidt was very ambiguous about whether he felt ready. I put the onus on the Giant's pitching coach. Apparently, Alou is not a communicator. That's why he has coaches.

SANGRE
Gredg Stoda in his column on Cabrera in PB Post today... teaches me some Spanish and another dimension of the rookie that tied a record yesterday... "The word is printed in black marker on each of the white adhesive-tape wraps around Cabrera's wrists... SANGRE." "Blood" in Spanish. That's our boy!

Dave O'Brien calling ESPN game
Healthier, fatter, OB calling the game on ESPN today. Should be an improvement on their crap coverage.
-
Cabs will start in place of Lowell today
I have no problem with Cab's starting. But, I think there's more to the story.
-
Len and Tommy
Bottom-Line: Len and Tommy shamed most of our local sports-talk hosts. They were spontaneous, respectful (no ego problems), and they were "radio lively." Good pacing, brief banter, and enthusiasm for the topic, and knowledge. As far as I'm concerned, they set a standard for local radio. Unfortunately, they set the bar too high. But, it's always good to see what's possible.
-
Len and Tommy
Len and Tommy did a good job on the "hour" long WQAM post-game. It was good to hear them talking baseball without the TV fluff entertainment stuff. They were really good! Hope they continue throughout... (CapeFish, can you answer that?)

Game 3 - Back to the Teal OK Corral!
Pudge bunting, tie game, one on, eighth inning. At first I wanted to say McKeon was stupid. But, now, I remember that he falls asleep in the seventh inning. (Actually, he does it in bottom half of sixth.)
-
Game 3 - Back to the Teal OK Corral!
Two to two in sixth? Give me Lowell, Conine and A-Gon.
-
Game 3 - Back to the Teal OK Corral!
Muting TV incompetents. Going back to Radio with TV Screen on silently.
