Brandon Webb will see your impressive achievement
Webb is ridiculous, he and Matt Holiday are the 2 most underrated players in the game IMO. Amazing streak here too. I agree on Webb but if anything I think Holliday is overrated. He's another Coors Field creation.

Rick VandenHurk
Rich and Tommy were mentioning how this afternoons game was a "must pitch good" game for RVH. If he doesnt pitch good he might be sent down (I am not sure if R + T heard this some place or if this is their opinion). So, do you think VandenHurk will be sent down or do you think he will make his next start? But Vandy did pitch decently today. Rich and Tommy wouldn't talk about it unless the team had talked about it so I'm sure they heard it someplace. I think he'll make his next start. I think he should be in the minors.

Conine belongs back here
He should just retire. I don't see how he would help the '08 Marlins.

One team is going for the sweep....and it's not the Mets :mischief
Damn, I didn't realize it was a rain delay... Anyone know if it is supposed to clear up? The one day of the week I don't have to wake up at 2 am to watch the Marlins and we have a rain delay Game time is 1:30 so no rain delay. Really? Great. Yahoo Game Channel has it wrong apparently. It was supposed to be 1:05 or 1:10 but it got moved back because they're having a tribute for Glavine for the 300 wins.

Two in a row...NICE! Hanley's Magical Mystery Tour continues
i cannot deal with olivo any more, he is a F*cking retard He made a good throw. The ump and Fredi are the ones who screwed-up. dude, the ball hit reyes in the back. everybody runs inside the line. thats why he wasn't called out, why fredi didn't argue, and why it wouldn't have helped if he did. Everyone might do it, but 85% of the time a throw like that hits the runner, the runner is immediately called out. maybe you're right, but not from what i've seen How long ahve you been watching?

He wasn't out, his right hand touched the bag before the tag. You're probably right. That was just Tommy acting like a whiny little girl.

Ricky Nolasco updates
Put the kids in and rest anyone who might remotely get injured. This Fish aren't going anywhere fast this season anyhow. I'm not sure if that comment is aimed at perticular "kids" but I don't see any reason to start the clock on a guy like Gaby. Let him grow where he is at, don't waste his MLB time on a throw-away season. That's how I see it. I also don't think RVH should be eating his service time right now. Even Olsen should be in the minors learning how to throw his slider for a strike.

Ok that's a start; Hanley + Cabs > Reyes + Wright
Why PH for Hermida???
-
Tomorrow's starter
Hermida has over a .800 OPS, how is that "not saying much"? Shawn Green only has a .742 OPS. How is Green > Hermida? Willingham has a higher OPS then Alou aswell. Also Hanley Ramirez is >>>> Reyes, that's not even close. There's nearly a 20 point difference between the two in VORP. And how in the hell is Luis Castillo a better offensive player then Uggla? The only 2B better then Uggla offensively is Utley. I pretty much agree with everything except some of the Uggla stuff. Uggla is the 3rd best hitting 2B in the division after Utley and Johnson.

welcome to the bigs kid, now go take on the Mets in Shea :lol Yeah that oughtta be a real nice welcome. :confused The Mets offense is overrated. They have injury issues and guys underperforming. You mean that it's not the greatest lineup of all time as ESPN has told me? ESPN was pulling your leg... the Mets have the 4th best lienup in the division. 4th best? ... and im thinking that the marlins would have the worst because there is no way in hell the marlins have a better lineup then the mets I dont care if they are underperforming or whatever excuse you want to find but you have to be out of your mind to think they are the 4th best in the division ... thats probably the best lineup (or top 3) in the majors from top to bottom This is the order... Phillies, Braves, Marlins, Mets and Nats. Marlins vs Mets C - Mets edge 1B - Mets edge 2B - Marlins Edge SS - Marlins edge 3B - Marlins edge LF - Marlins edge CF - Mets edge RF - Marlins edge or maybe a wash Keep in mind that Delgado and Lo Duca haven't hit all season and Green, Alou, Valentin and Beltran have missed a lot of time. Right now Beltran is on the DL and whn he has played he hasn't hit that well. The Mets are tied for 3rd in the division in OBP and are 4th in the division in SLG, OPS and runs scored.

I think most of those are far from great and I think Runaway Jury is garbage. :| You are dead to me. DEAD TO ME! Thank you.

Game 2 vs Phillies Thoughts
but be good time now to start looking pitcher we have farm team so we can look who can help us next year our pitching staff need to be redone with some good pitcher in farm system Well miamibaseball haven't you learned from our fellow posters that the reason we play like the Bad News Bears is because of injuries and bad luck? Next year we should have Olsen, Dontrelle and Mitre back and with Nolasco and Sanchez our rotation should be the league's best. Don't worry about anything. All the problems are injury and bad luck related. will Sanchez be back with team? he do not see eye to eye with mangement with issue about paycheck I think Anibal will get his money (win the dispute) and will be back next year.

Miguel Olivo
I know that he has had his lapses this year but if you compare him to plenty of other catchers around the league his production is very good. You may notice now that hes leaving the bat on his shoulders before swinging instead of having them up over his head as usual. Yadier Molina had started to do this last year and his hitting has really improved. Also i think that this could make Olivo select better pitches and make better contact with a more controlled bat. Olivo ranks 28th in OPS among the 31 catchers with most PAs. That's terrible any way you look at it. Jacobs ranks 28th in OPS among the 31 first basemen with the most PAs. That's also terrible. Those two spots in the lineup need to be addressed.

Actor with the Best Top 5 Movies
I like Holden's movies more than I like him. His costars usually gave better performances than he did. Stalag 17 (the Betty Grable obsessed guy) The Bridge on the River Kwai (Alec Guiness) Sunset Boulevard (Gloria Sawnson) Network (Peter Finch) I don't really like The Wild Bunch (it had problems with narrative for me) but I'd still go Ernest Borgine(?) over him. Guinness was great on The Bridge but I think the Betty Grabble guy was "Animal" and I would prefer if he was edited out of the movie. This is the kind of movie I can watch over and over but after so many times Animal gets annoying.

It's pretty amazing how many good directors Tom Cruise has worked with... And in a stream of consciousness moment, that reminds me of how many great movies Dustin Hoffman has been in: The Graduate Midnight Cowboy Papillon All the President's Men Marathon Man Kramer vs. Kramer Rain Man Tootsie Run Away Jury ... I think most of those are far from great and I think Runaway Jury is garbage.

Next Home Run King?
I could see Cabs hitting 3k hits and 500 HR's but not really seriously pursuing the overall HR record. He isn't a pure slugger, he is more of an all-around hitter. And there is the only arguement you need. But I will add this part. Even if he were to stay here...Even if we get a new ball park...That new ball park is going to be pitcher friendly. That's what this team is built on, defense and pitching. That's what our minor league system is geared for. There is no way they are going to regear the whole system just to accomodate Miggy. I know that's the hype but do you really believe it? We have the worst defensive team in the league and one of the worst if not the worst pitching. This team is built on guys who are hard swingers who can't play D.
