exactly. It's not like what we say or anyone says is going to effect the way the team plays. I am supporting the team and hoping we sweep today, yes. It's baseball and anything can happen but by me saying "we go for the sweep today" how in the world does that jinx us? haha It's not like the baseball gods are going to hear us and are gonna b like omg someone said the marlins are going to sweep now they must lose!! lose!! lose!! lets make them lose. give it a break

Thanks for jinxing us.

I don't believe in that

I do!

Why?

I guess because I am a douche bag per Lib?lula.

Its is weird in sports since I was a kid there were certain superstition that were maintained...Never call a game a win until after the 27 th out, if you pitcher is throwing a no-hitter you never mover no matter how bad u gotta pee! You don't ever say you will sweep a series as a given...anyone can think of any others?

In reality at the age of 46 I find these superstitions without rational explanation to be held onto as laws. There is in my mind a jinx of which by preponederance of anecdotal evidence has been confirmed time and again. I know it's dumb but then again We douche bag hold it to be true or at least do not like to fool with tradition

There's just no reason for a thread like this. We all know we are going for a sweep, by mention it and piss those off who believe in the jinx?

Not a good match up for one, but yea don't think a thread to reassure us with what we already know is necessary.

are you a baseball god? how do you know what they do? in these cases, best to air on the side of caution and superstition.

Fu** the mets and their fans bring out the brooms. Hanley 2 up early huh?

I'm fully supporting Hanley 2 in every site award, the man speaks the truth

We didn't lose because of a jinx, jeez. We lost because the Mets played better and were able to get most of their baserunners in, it seems.
