  3. i dont know why he didnt sign it but i think its probably for a good reason. i think we can see a clear difference in hanley's character this year so I dont think he would do that if it wasnt for a reason. Maybe, but then it would have been better to write "...(not including Hanley Ramirez #2, because [put in reason]...") in the auction desciption. Why would bidders care? And his contractual clauses may be private. Right, bidders may not care (though I think it would get higher bids with Hanley on it) but as you see here, they are not the only one who notice this. As someone already mentioned, 1 out of 25 players - and this being the teams' star - not signing could be blown out of proportion. And with reason I didn't mean details, just something like "because of contractual reasons". Would have been enough to make this a non-issue.
