Comparisons
A 2 year old article. Gaby is still not a power prospect, that takes care of that comparison. And Pujols is an excellent first basemen, something Gaby Sanchez is not. Pujols is also in the top 3 overall hitters in the game, something Gaby is not, as has been mentioned, he profiles as a 10-15 HR(in his best years) first baseman. As usual, you are grasping for straws. Gaby Sanchez MVP :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :thumbup

Gaby Sanchez MVP = A. Pujols :notworthy For comparing Gaby Sanchez to Albert Pujols you officially qualify for the loony bin. Gaby Sanchez MVP :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :whistle when was the last time you were anything :thumbup I don't write to write here this is for you . Gaby Sanchez making noise by craig on Nov 27, 2006 6:01 AM EST in News Gaby Sanchez is starting to make a name for himself and the scouts are impressed. Gaby Sanchez, the Marlins' top position prospect, was impressive in Arizona. Sanchez has played third base and catcher in Class A, but he's concentrating on first base now. "You can't compare anybody to Albert Pujols, but the body type is pretty similar," a rival scout says. "At first glance you might not think a lot of bat speed is there, but his approach is so good and he uses the whole field. Don't just dismiss this guy. He could come fast, just like Pujols." If this is true that means Jacobs and Stokes will be trade bait in the very near future. I haven't seen the young man play, not that my assessment would be much of an addition, but he could be in the show very quickly. I expect he will start the season out in Jupiter and if he continues to show promise he will be playing for the Mudcats by the end of the season. I don't think the organization will feel any need to rush him up to the Bigs - barring injuries. But in the 2008 season he may be holding down the number three position in the field. His stats for the AFL weren't killer which is why I think he needs more development. But obviously at least one scout saw something he liked.

Gaby Sanchez, Southern League MVP
Boy, this is about the last place I thought this thread would go when I started it. :banghead I know, steroids, Sanchez has played great, he deserves a call up next season when Jacobs gets traded, but McPherson also deserves one, that will be a tough decision. this is a great day for Gaby & the Marlins let's go that direction

Gaby Sanchez, Southern League MVP
Hello Promotion I remeber Gaby as a Cane then he got suspended for roids and now hes a beast again and he might be on his way to the bigs this september I know your only 13 but show me somewhere were you read that Gaby was suspended for roids. don't spread rumors that are not true k my cousins who played fro the UM Canes 2000-2004 and danny played 2005 played with Gaby in his junior year he played 3b and he got suspended for the drug abuse policy(which was steriods) he played half of the senior year as a catcher and then was drafted to the Marlins its not a rumor but the truth but now im glad he got back to being a great hitter and hes now an MVP and mostly a major leaguer in september I'm a UM & Marlins fan and have follow Gaby .He played his freshman year and his sophomore year and didn't play his junior year .He practice ,took batting practice before every game and caught bullpen during the games and was drafted his junior year if he would have been suspended for roids he would not have been allow on the field NCAA rule. Anyway your right it doesn't matter his been in the minor leagues for 3 1/2 years and with the Marlins Next Year.

Arizona Fall League Rosters Revealed

Arizona Fall League Rosters Revealed
I think (however you look at it) they know what they have in Sanchez but fast-tracking Raynor is interesting especially since Fredi appears fed up (or is it a little tough love?) with Hemida right now and Willingham literally holds the keys to his career in his hands. It's make or break in September. What fascinating is th at two-thirds of the people at AFL are scouts and talent evaluators for other teams. Doolittle and Mobley have been lights out in Carolina this season and big reasons they're headed to the playoffs. I wonder if Mobley gets a call after the playoffs and Doolittle goes to the AFL? Very interesting i agree, Gabby Sanchez and Logan Morrison may just be duking it out in ST, End of the road for Jake as a Marlin. I believe Hermida will get another season but Willy may be the 5th outfielder with either Raynor or Cousins taking over LF next season Eddie remember that the Marlins don't have to protect Raynor or Cousins next year I see both in AA next year & Morrison needs to go to AA

Arizona Fall League Rosters Revealed
Surprised no Sanchez, I like sending Morrison, Cousins and Raynor. Sanchez went to AFL in 2006

Gabby Sanchez defensive woes have been playing 3rd base. He is a rangy 1st basemam with an excellent arm and sure hands. Morrison is a very good 1st baseman I couldnt say which of the 2 is the better defender BTW here are Gabby stats http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/S/Gaby-Sanchez.shtml Eddie here is a better site for stats and are update daily http://minors.baseball-reference.com/players.cgi?pid=12922

Errors are the worst way to gauge a players defensive ability. Morrison was regarded as a good defensive player and he has only gotten better. Sanchez for the longest time was known as the guy with no position because he is just awful on D. While he may have made improvements, his D is not-probably not anywhere near-as good as Morrison's. I know Golden Gloves are given for good looks you forgot the start ,Best tools cited, best defensive player in Souther League AA you know what lets give Gaby a rest, soon will see what he can do.

Um, Jimmy, what are you talking about? I am pretty honest about not knowing a ton when it comes to minor leaguers, but I know that Gaby Sanchez didn't "struggle in Jupiter all year until the last month or so", mainly because he didn't play in Jupiter this year. Here are his numbers, month by month, in AA Carolina this year: April:.303/.400/.461/.861 May: .340/.433/.470/.903 June: .297/.390/.451/.841 July: .379/.453/.670/1.123 August:.290/.410/.623/1.033 So he hasn't "struggle all year" at any level. He's 5th in the Southern League in AVG, 4th in OBP, and 7th in SLG. He struggled last year in Jupiter. Gaby didn't struggle in Jupiter at all maybe a little at the beginning of the year. Just a little correction:Rabbethan 5 Average (.325) 1 OBP 4 OPS 1 doubles (41) 3 88 RBI 2 241 TB 3 hits (147) for AA Southern League I say that's struggling :thumbup

Umm Will Carrol didn't write that part about Gaby Sanchez. That was a user, faketeams I think his name was, quoting Will Carrol about trading Jacobs, and then adding his own two cents in on Baby Sanchez. In fact, I dont think Will Carrol mentioned Jacobs at all, as faketeam switched back to his own narrative to finish off the 3rd paragraph. You fail yet again. Fail again no, all you done his help me expose you as a fraud :notworthy and that's the last I write I don't like this negative crap.We are getting nowhere :thumbdown I think somewhere down the line you forgot what your mother taught you" not to spit up"

I cant find that story anywhere, if you want to leak it, go ahead. It sounds like you wrote it yourself, as it sounds just like you. Also, considering MLBtraderumors is a fan submission site, I take most of the overexaggerated comments, like the one you bolded that sounds like your work, with a grain of salt. If you think its about anything but money, you are just off in your own little world. I don't write negative about any players if I don't like a player I ignore him. :banghead :banghead but here you go the link:http://www.faketeams.com/2008/7/25/578976/mlb-trade-rumors-friday-ro and Will Carroll of Baseball Prospectus is legit

I have seen all the stats(and we are trading Jacobs away because of money). This is Sanchez's first year where he has stood out at all, and I am still not impressed. Not that I am hard to impress, I just dont see anyway he translates into an every day major leaguer. You think he is this amazing cant miss prospect, which he is not. Time will tell which one of us is right. because of money lol. MLB Trade Rumors: Friday Round-Up by faketeams on Jul 25, 2008 11:30 AM EDT in Baseball Will Carroll of Baseball Prospectus posted a Rumor Mill yesterday afternoon with some excellent follow-uyp to many of the rumors that have been posted here at Fake Teams, been mentioned in the local papers and floated in the internets for days. With BP offering free access to all visitors through Sunday the 27th, I highly recommend reading this. He explains why the Oakland A's are showing-up everyhwere, and it is not because they have dealt 3/5s of their starting rotation in the past year. He also reports why the Atlanta Braves may not be the easiest teams to tell with over the next six days. Actually, he reported the asking price for Mike Gonzalez. I added one to come-up with the rest. Here are additional trade-rumor-related info from around the internet including info on the New York Yankees view of the catcher market and the Florida Marlins on Mike Jacobs amongst other rumors. If Jacobs is dealt, it is because of Gaby Sanchez. Look at the OPS, SBs and BB:K!

He might be, and I will be shocked if he can even match Jacobs batting average and OBP, as he has no chance of matching the slugging. Results tagged ?Marlins? from MLB.com Organizational Report Likely candidates for '08 Marlins Gaby Sanchez - Not sure if Sanchez would get called up to the Marlins, but it sure would be tough to keep the corner infield from the big club. The former University of Miami star has been on a tear this year, batting .327 with 17 home runs and 84 RBIs. In July, he earned Topps Player of the Month. And check this out: He's walked three more times than he's struck out (65-62). Double-A Carolina Sanchez has hot July In case you've missed it, Gaby Sanchez has been lighting it up in the Minor Leagues this season -- especially last month. In July, Sanchez was named the Topps Player of the Month, as voted by Southern League managers, after he hit .379 with seven home runs, seven doubles and 29 RBIs. With his performance, the Mudcats went from 2 1/2 back in their division to three games up at the end of the month. In July, Sanchez also made an appearance at the Southern League All-Star Game and enjoyed an 11-game hitting streak -- which saw him bat .488. Drafted by the Marlins in the fourth round of the 2005 Draft, Sanchez -- a 24-year-old right-handed hitter who stands 6-foot-2 and weights about 225 pounds -- is hitting .329 with 11 home runs and 66 RBIs in 102 games this season. In four seasons in the Marlins' farm system, Sanchez has a combined .308 batting average. The Miami native, who graduated from Brito High School and attended the University of Miami, is a corner infielder who also plays catcher, but he's been playing mostly first base. gaby is the reason we are trading Jocobs

What he did in the GCL and Greensboro is not impressive, I am sorry to tell you. He struggled all year in Jupiter until the last month or so, i.e. his #'s there were misleading. And this year he still isn't showing any power, especially not what you would want from a potential first basemen. His only redeeming quality is his good K/BB ration, which will most likely disappear once he hits the superior pitching at the highest level. 1. great that you have no knowledge about baseball 2. you have no idea what your writing 3. I'm glad your not Marlins FO 4. your wasting your time 5. I think you go on this web site to be totally negative :thumbup :whistle 6. your logic is terrible

I want to know, honestly, how good do you think Gaby Sanchez is? What do you think the average stat line for him will be? see that tells the whole story right there ,before I write something about a player I do my research. you are just either bashing him or hate him for no reason. gaby's # are unbelievable. His average stat line will be the same in the Majors or better. Unbelievable? Wow. Aside from his K/BB ratio, which wont be anywhere near as good in the show, there really is nothing impressive about Gaby Sanchez, unless you like first basemen with relatively no power, which will also go down against superior pitching. He is a bench player at best in MLB. And I still think you are Gaby Sanchez, as there is no other explainable reason you like this more or less average prospect so much. I wish I was Gaby ,let me give you another taste he leads the league in both OBP and the "no power ", also leads the league in extra base hits (39 dbl. 1 3B 17 HR) by the way he is not the only player I follow but he's from Miami and I would like to see him at the show. again don't worry your doubts will be over soon.
