  1. The guy's batting .262/.381/.390 for Pete's sake. That's not unbelievable, but it's quite solid. Would people be happier if he was hitting .262/.350/.452? Or .262/.330/.492? Because all of those lines make for just about the same hitter, as far as overall value is concerned. This is really one of the most annoying parts about this sight. Last year he sucked, sure, but his production is decent this year at the very least. :notworthy :notworthy :thumbup
  2. He isnt the 1B the Marlins have. Cantu is the 1B the Marlins have. Logan Morrison is progressing fast(despite the current injury), so is Mike Stanton. If the team keeps Hermida, that should worry you. That means Gaby Sanchez is the odd man out. Also, as has been pointed out, Sanchez didnt play 1 game/sit the next as you state in spring training. He started the first 7 games of Spring Training and was terrible. To your point about Sanchez being established, he is not. He has been a decent prospect(despite a bad year during his stop at Jupiter), but has also been too old for every level. You think Gaby Sanchez is a MVP type player. Most think he is a light hitting 1B whos a stop gap for Morrison(if it even comes to that...it might be a natural bridge from Cantu to Morrison). You are literally the only person in the world who thinks Sanchez is as good as you think he is. As for being aggravating...no one on this board has ever agreed with you about Gaby Sanchez. No one. That have all told you repeatedly your views on Gaby Sanchez are laughable, that you have never made a legitimate point to back up your opinion. People have showed you scouts takes on him, and the general consensus on Gaby is the same by all those who have seen him...little power, decent glove at 1B, glove is plain bad anywhere else, bat likely wont play at 1B...yet you tell everyone they are wrong. To you, the consensus is wrong and you are right. People have been telling you for 2 years how absurd you are yet you dont give up. I might have too often stated my views on Mitre and Olivo, but I actually had something to back up my stance. The only thing you have ever given to back up your incredibly head scratching logic is your opinion. So I find it funny that you of all people have the nerve to call anyone aggravating when you have been sticking to the same shtick for 2 years with literally no one at all agreeing with you and in fact disproving your stances rather easily the entire time. the only guy pulling string out of hat is you and their are people that agree with me .and not making Sanchez and MVP he is and the only one that has taken this on his you . but again your baseball knowledge is 0 but I do it for fun and I don't tell everybody they are wrong I tell you. your the one always bringing what other said with out any prove and on Mitre & Olivo you never have anything to back it up ,nothing. You try to get everybody to agree,I think is you with 3 or 4 Computers because this is all you know how to do,cut people and Players your so cool check for your self Sanchez did not play 7 strait games it was 1 day on 1 day off.and did not say Sanchez was established read the post.
  3. I am saying your logic is not sound. Once again you add player of the week nods, 4 to be exact, and that is asinine. There are mediocre players that win those awards alot, you just need a good week. Being a New York Penn League all star is also not very impressive when you factor in that he was 22 years old at the time in a league full of 18-19 year olds. And now scouts arent quality assessors or talent? Because they dont agree with you about Gaby? NO ONE agrees with you about Gaby. You are right, Chris Coghlan shouldnt be compared to Gaby Sanchez. Coghlan was having a better year in New Orleans(OPS 69 points higher, OBP 4 points higher, SLG 35 points higher). Chris Coghlan is a middle infielder whos career(a career in which he has advanced faster than Sanchez) lines are comparable to Sanchez, a corner infielder. Coghlan is one of the top rated players at his position in baseball, Gaby isnt even the top rated 1B in the Marlins organization. I am still waiting for your justification for Gaby getting more at bats in spring training when he was abysmally awful in the 36 he had. Give me something, anything, that is a valid point, something you have never made. I'll do this because I know that in Patoka, Illinois you only know about Hockey or your a Cubs fan .when you take a player any player and hit him 1 day yes and 1 day off it's very hard to get going and more in spring when you been off all summer you need to play everyday and get as many at bats as possible and 2 game can change the average from .216 to .300 real quick when you have 35AB ,when you are establish player ST is nothing more than practice time and # don't matter. that's why a veteran that comes of the bench and can hit is valuable to a team and gets 1 million a year Helms. Compare thats why Sanchez was MVP ,in Baseball That's Most Valuable Player get it.and your right again is not the top rated 1B he is the 1B the Marlins have.Get ready to kiss ass pretty soon.anyway how does a guy like you from Patoka, Illinois is so involve in Miami Marlins.I think you get a kick on aggravating fans of the Marlins.I think this forum should kick you out. I think Sanchez # talk for them self and he doesn't need me defending him. by the way so next time you know most N.Y.Penn league is first year college players drafted JRs.and SRs age 21 for Gaby and a mediocre can get lucky and win it.but not 4 times and the rest, come admit it you love him.
  4. Arguing with Marlins1 about Gaby is like trying to tell an 8 year kid from the mid to late 90s why the Power Rangers suck. Argue this 08/28/2008 SOU Post-Season All-Star 08/28/2008 SOU Most Valuable Player 08/04/2008 SOU Player of the Week 07/21/2008 SOU Player of the Week 07/14/2008 SOU Mid-Season All-Star 07/02/2007 FSL Player of the Week 06/20/2006 SAL Mid-Season All-Star 04/16/2006 SAL Player of the Week 10/10/2005 Baseball America Short-Season All-Star 08/23/2005 NYP Mid-Season All-Star 08/23/2005 NYP All-Star Game Top Star Every year from the start. and stop with your scouts said this and that scouts can be found that will say anything that is a cop out And 2006 player of the year minor league for the Marlins is missing.this is a great player and I'm done with this Please don't compare to Coghlin.
  5. So you admit you have a poor argument that makes very little sense? first their is no argument, you don't agree ,but you have never agree with Sanchez talent and always put up a show to get me to go at it with you and out of spite I play with you.but the truth is I give a sh*t
  6. Not really. They didnt know what his AAA stats would be, all they knew was that he was just head scratchingly bad in spring training. He hit himself out of a job. 36 at bats was all they needed. Spike your are just ignorant :notworthy :notworthy :banghead How? I honestly dont understand your logic. They made a mistake by giving him only 36 at bats, despite the fact that he was awful in those 36 at bats, because he has had a good year in AAA so far? That is your argument? If it is, that is a very poor argument. your right

  8. Maybe if he had put up an OPS above .450 and didnt have a K/BB ration of 7 to 1 he might of gotten more than 36 at bats, ever think of that? And still, once again, what does his stats at New Orleans have to do with anything? It's an extension of ST
  9. Gaby Sanchez was horrendously bad in spring training, and thats the reasons his AB total was so low. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, that is correct. However, they should be backed up with more than smugness and stubborness. Gaby Sanchez hit .216/.250/.194 in Spring Training with 7 Ks to 1 BB in 36 at bats. Anything else you would like me to back up? Gaby was just plain terrible. Your so good ,what did he do when he went to play everyday in AAA What the hell does that have to do with anything in a discussion about how bad he was in spring training? I mean honestly. never really got a change to get going 35 AB for a player that was suppose to lose a job is not right

  11. This is how I feel. Words cannot describe this feeling. When will the stupidity end? Me too

  13. Neither Gaby nor Dallas were beat out of anything, they "lost", and that isn't even the right term, they underperformed so profoundly neither gave the front office any reason to consider placing them on the active roster. EB was in the equation because he put himself in a position for consideration, go back and read the ST daily reports etc., the first two would not have made any roster in baseball regardless of anyone else in camp. we need to be serious here Gaby got 35 at bats in ST.the decision was made by FO before ST ever started they wanted EB at 3B and Cantu at 1B .Gaby was never going to compete against Cantu for that Job .Cantu said he felt more conformable at 1B .And FO tried the experiment that has not work .Gaby when to AAA and kick ass and got hurt on a great play at home.
  14. As long as Sanchez doesnt go anywhere near 3B I am fine with it. Just a placeholder for Morrison anyway. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, that is correct. However, they should be backed up with more than smugness and stubborness.
  15. Brett Carroll is being optioned to Triple-A New Orleans

  17. Maybin leaves with back ailment Zephyrs outfielder Cameron Maybin left the game in the fourth inning with a strained back.
  18. can't believe this :banghead :banghead :banghead
  19. Please forgive me. I'm with you, don't need to ask :thumbup
  20. When are going to just bring up Gaby Sanchez already? I really think that Emilio's success against LHP is holding him back. But I'd rather have Gaby on the roster than Brett Carroll. Our outfield is very good defensively even without him in there, and he adds almost nothing otherwise. Besides Hermida/Maybin/Ross, we also have Gload who can play the corners, Bonifacio who can play RF, and Amezaga who can play everywhere. That's plenty of OFs, especially when you throw in that Cody can easily man CF. Sure we have a lot of depths at the corners, but Gaby is so much better than Brett Carrol. The only significant argument I see against this is that you might want Gaby to continue starting everyday in order to further his development. But he's already 26, and he's hitting pretty darn well in AAA (albeit a small sample). I personally think it's time. he is 25
  21. Marlins1 replied to Hotcorner's topic in Sports
after a strong outing last time out, West struggled today. Still looking for more consistency.... 2 good starts and 2 poor ones. 4.2 innings, 8 hits, 4 runs, 2 BB, 5 K next to the Show
  22. these are stories you never want to hear about "RIP"
  23. I would trust the multitude of people who have watched him play 3B and said he is just awful there. like always silly remarks, multitude of people I have talk to say ,great hands and able to play 3B or 1B and his bat will play anywhere His bat doesnt play at 1B :lol . And no, unless you are talking to yourself, no one has ever said anything good about Gaby Sanchez's D at 3rd. Every report of his glove at the 3 bag have been overwhelmingly negative. I forgot your right again my bad :thumbup "your the man" :whistle

  25. Played 59 games at Third in AA Carolina last year and was actually above average I'm shocked it was that high. I completely missed that and was basing it on his time in A which was near exclusive 1B. Anyways, I hope he can become "Cantu passable" at the other corner. That would be perfect to bridge the gap to Dominguez. it was actually 62 games and I think your getting way ahead about dominguez he still needs a lot to prove
