  1. Maybe Gaby going down, hatcher up. Morrison/Dobbs platoon on first while the knee heels and Petey in left It must be a hate thing between you and Gaby, thats all you come in this forum for.Get Gaby out and put Morrison in are you family. You sure are not a Marlins Fan.This team needs both of this players to do good to win.
  2. Ozzie has balls :wee
  3. Suddenly everyone misses him. Lol funny. It is a shame ,we needed him this year ,but it could still happen I hope so
  4. Ozzie in his post game interview promised drastic changes will be made and they will be contemplated during the "long six hours flight". Let the speculation begin? I think it's going to be lineup shifts and position shifts. LoMo to first on a platoon basis, Peterson into LF platooning with LoMo, (6 games a week for LoMo) Hanley in the two hole with LoMo hitting third and Stanton dropped to 8th in the order with reyes at 7th. Bell will probably be sent to the DL with "lower leg" problems. Sanchez playing time diminished until he picks up 3B again and starts hitting. The promised drastic changes Ozzie made was Bell and Staton
  5. I like Petey, he can cover the OF very well and has a great arm. But can't see him just suddenly jumping in the lineup and giving us much spark offensively. He's not really known for his bat. That said, can't be too worse than what Cogs was doing at the plate. Kinda saw this change coming anyway. I don't mind LoMo doing some 1st. You can run Dobbs at 1st too some or LF and RF. Gaby -----> .205 avg OBP .234. Ouch. Not going to put it all on Gaby though, it's pretty much across the board sans maybe LoMo and Infante. yes .205 ave. but 2nd on the team with 8RBI 2nd on the Team with 8XBH first with 7doubles 3rd with 25TB his 3rd with 285 NP with only 77PA hitting 7th most of the time in the line up he has had a bad month ,but he carry this team last year in April May June lets give him some slack .this board is all about putting him down . Lets move Lomo to 1st remember you don't know what you have until you lose it and this team does it allot and this board does it all the time .This kid is a team Player and a good player at his position and a good bat to have .I predicted making the team ,I predicted All Star and Now I'll predict MBP.
  6. Are my eyes deceiving me or is Gaby really sucking? Juan C. Rodriguez Also In Miami Marlins #Marlins 1B Gaby Sanchez was charged with the error, but SS Jose Reyes fell on the sword for the defensive misplay that led to the #Nationals' 3-2, 10-inning win: "“I need to make that play. I think I took my eye off the ball at the last moment…I’m better than that. In that situation, we came back in the ninth inning and tied the game so we felt very good about ourselves then we lost the game like that. It’s not acceptable.

  9. I think what Gaby gets us is this. Gaby Sanchez should be the National League Rookie of the Year. Do you think he did enough to win the award? -- Christian R., Hallandale Beach, Fla. If the voters really looked at the overall numbers, and the fact that Sanchez was in the lineup every day all season, his case would seem to be a lot stronger. Unfortunately, the publicity surrounding Jason Heyward from Spring Training throughout the season, plus Buster Posey enjoying a strong season with the Giants, could make it tough for Sanchez. Sanchez was so steady throughout the season that he tended to be taken for granted. He played in 151 games. The only rookie to see action in more games was Ian Desmond of the Nationals (154). Sanchez led all rookies in at-bats (572), hits (156), RBIs (85) and doubles (37). He hit .273, compared to .277 for Heyward. Sanchez had 19 homers, which was tied with the Mets' Ike Davis for third among rookies. Posey, meanwhile, played in 108 games and hit .305 with 18 homers and 67 RBIs. No doubt Posey and Heyward are tremendous players. Both are in the playoffs, which helps their cause. If they had as many at-bats and games as Sanchez, would their numbers dip or improve? We don't know. We do know Sanchez was steady from Day 1. That should account for something this is Joe Frisaro I think Gaby is going to be with us for a few years until he gets to expensive .then he'll go to another team and come back and kick our ass.or we sign him long term .we need to enjoy this great player and stop writing bull.

Yeh that was pretty bad not catching that pop-up that ball should have been Ugglas ball not his. he did the right thing by calling it at the beginning and when the wind took it to the right Uggla should have call him off. I'm feeling generous this morning. not calling BroncoBob27 and A!! I think your constant bashing of Gaby is getting really old.

Every offseason it's the same crap about how "we're trying to improve, defensively." It's crap. This defense is still the laughing stock of MLB in terms of defenses...get it fixed, already. /rant What do you think is going to happen when you have inexperience young players? For the most part, this team is no longer inexperienced. It's just a bad defensive team. Our three worst defensive players this year have been Gaby, Maybin, and Coghlan. Gaby is a rookie, Maybin is basically a rookie, and Coghlan is in his first full season playing a position that he had never played before the middle of last season. I think you can blame inexperience for the time being. totally disagree read --According to Baseball Info Solutions, Gaby Sanchez as of Thursday trailed only the Royals' Billy Butler (seven) in picks and bad throw saves.

The good news is Uggla and Cantu will be gone soon. The bad news is that Ross will be, too. The good news is that LoMo should eventually be an above-average 1B. The bad news is that Gaby isn't and he probably keeps the job for the time being (not saying this is bad overall, just relative to the defense). The good news is that Coghlan should be better at 2B than he is at LF and he should also be better than Uggla. The bad news is that we don't have a 3rd baseman. That good news is that Hanley seems to be improving. The bad news is that both of our catchers are not good, and most of our pitchers seem to be poor fielders, too. The good news is that Maybin should be an above-average CF. The bad news is that he isn't, and may not, hit enough to warrant consistent playing time. I'm not sure this trend changes for the near future; however, Petersen/Carroll, Maybin, and Stanton could be a above-to-very-above-average OF. Eventually, Dominguez/Hanley/Coghlan/Morrison should be at least average at all 4 positions and possibly above-average at all (the least likely to fit this is probably Coghlan). before you call Morrison above average defender do some checking in 12 games in AAA 2 errors, please!!! the only games his played
  14. I saw that too. Personally, I think Branyan will easily beat out Sanchez and Morrison. I still don't think the Marlins have much faith in Sanchez or he would have been with them last year. As for Morrison, I have a hunch he will need some more time in the minors. All one has to do is look at how he was "used" when he was called up last year. Rarely. Never a defensive replacement. It is obvious the team has no confidence in his bat or glove at this level. And he didn't help his cause in Winter ball this year. Going into ST it appears Gaby is a long shot to make the team in any capacity, even if the team is saying it's between him and Logan with JJ2 an also ran. I think he would have to have one heck of a ST to make the Opening Day roster. It's a possibility, but I wouldn't count on it. BroncoBob27 I think everybody here knows you don't like Gaby but Mr. Beinfest has a little different opinion. Beinfest last interview with Miami Herald • Marlins executive vice president Admin Beinfest envisions a ``nice battle between Logan Morrison and Gaby Sanchez at first base.'' Morrison (.277, eight homers, 47 RBI in 79 games at Double A in 2009) ``looks like he's ready. He recognizes the breaking ball and he carries himself like a big-leaguer.'' Sanchez struggled last spring but hit .289, 16, 56 in 85 Triple A games before his promotion: ``He pressed last spring, but you don't hit .320 at Double A unless you're the real thing,'' Beinfest said. ``He can hit, no question.''
  15. I have no issues with Gaby, I just see Morrison has a brighter future overall. I actually wanted to see Gaby start last season at 1B, and so did many people on this site back in February and beyond, so we haven't been all "bias" as you say (which in effect makes no sense since we are fans of the Marlins and want to see every player succeed). The difference is Morrison has progressed. If he has a AWESOME spring training, I fully expect him to be our starting first baseman come April. If he's average, we can keep him in AA, then give him the Coghlan treatment. He's coming off a wrist injury, so I have no issue with keeping him down and seeing if he can maintain the production he showed before his injury (which I would like to see about 2 walks a game in AA). But if Morrison is ready, there should be no reason to prolong his development. Morrison is the future, Sanchez is a very nice player, but he is a stopgate until Morrison is ready, and there is no reason to start Sanchez is Morrison is truely ready to contribute at the major league level. why would you discard Gaby that has better # than Logan and what # did he have before or after High A ball and by the way Gaby also had injury's and it did not stop him from putting up good # I think Gaby is the future and Logan will play somewhere else. but I can't see the future nor you and if you can lotto # will appreciated A 25 year old in AA is most likely going to have better numbers than a 22 year old in AA. That doesn't make Sanchez better than Morrison So using that logic a 26 year old will be better than a 23 year old in the Major League

  19. [No, by everyone. Logan Morrison is universally regarded as a top prospect(one of the top at his position as well, behind only Smoak most likely). so was Hermida Your point? Now we should only get behind fringe prospects because 1 of our top prospects from 2005 failed? How about "So was Cabrera"? no I think what are prospects do in Minor league is what counts ,not what they want to name them or the expectation. because thing change with every level they play in. one good year does not make you a Major leaguer by the way Cabrera was very close to going back to minor league if it was not that Mickie was not ready to go and they had to leave him up another week who knows were Cabrera would be.the guy was going to be a stud anyway but that is my point with Gaby.and if your comments is that Gaby is a fringe prospects. he has been a top prospect in the Marlins for 4 years.and fringe prospects turn to top prospects. I think we get behind all our prospects because we can't see the future.we want to guess but what really happens nobody knows. I think this Gaby and Logan thing is good and healthy but Logan has one good year in high A ball he needs more time and if Gaby can put the # he has in Minor league and he has shown already in Sep. and Logan put up good # in AA or AAA next year.I know having both of them on this team will only be a good thing for the organization.

  21. no it is shared by you the biggest bias person on this site I think Spike knows that he doesn't represent the average MB.com views of Gaby Sanchez, but most of us do agree that at 26-years-old he's not exactly a prospect anymore. Prospect or no prospect that is not the case. by the way a prospect is every minor leaguer trying to make it to the Majors .A player with 2HR in the Majors may not be a prospect any more.but not having at bats could be consider a prospect still no matter the age ,same as for rookie of the year age is not consider.

  25. I love Logan Morrison. I think the sooner he is called up the better. He'll be an OBP machine. Ok he is a good on OBP guy but if you check on Gaby his a little bit better about 17 points better. Gaby minor league .392 Logan minor league .375 more I'll give all the # Gaby .302BA .392OBP .485SLG .877OPS 246BB 244SO Logan .289BA .375OBP .459SLG .834OPS 190BB 253SO I think we need to give Gaby a real shot and then worry about what we do with Logan. This is a good thing Gaby Sanchez is not a prospect anymore.
