Jeff Weaver in Single A?
Weaver deserved to be sent to A ball. He's not only a bad pitcher this year, but a grade A a$$hole. Did anybody see his reaction when Hammond blew the 2-0 lead against the red sox a while back when Weaver was taken out? It was a lefty lefty matchup and Hammond replaced him, its not like some scrub who doesnt know what he's doing. Weaver was cursing at hammond from the dugout and as pissed off as if the world had ended. I think that was the last straw. New York fans were really pissed after seeing that. Also, somebody put Weaver up on Ebay for sale lol, I think the auction ended up at 10 bucks or something.

Working out
I just stick with Whey Protein, Creatine, and for after workouts, L-Glutamine and Gatorload. I just found out Whey protein is Bull sperm. Yes, you're drinking Bull nut. its only like 17 g of protein per shake I think with whey protein. Might as well just take 2 egg whites for that or a glass of skim milk. Beans have high fiber as well hardly any fat cals and 7-8 gs of protein per serving. Beans might be a better way to go than bull sperm man... lol yeap everybody, furmangator chugs bull cum. you dont wanna end up like maddonna.

Options?
I think there are more OFs available than 3B, so we'll probably move Cabrera to the infield. Our organization doesn't have a ready 3B, other than Cabrera. Chris Donnels is not the answer. Our depth, such as it is, is in the OF with Hollandsworth, Banks, Gerald Williams, Chad Allen, and Abe Nunez. I think for today, we go with Banks in LF. And I think we should have Williams and Nunez on a plane to Fort Lauderdale. My preference is probably Conine, but can he still play LF? Does he still move well enough? Hollandsworth has been terrible as a starter all year. Banks has done a few nice things, but overall his numbers are pretty bad. Nunez would be interesting but that would mean we're depending on 3 rookies (Nunez, Cabrera, and Willis). 3 rookies does not give me warm fuzzies during a Wild Card chase. No matter what we do, we're not going to replace Lowell's production with his replacement. We have to hope whoever gets plugged in there just holds his own and the other guys (particularly Pudge, Lee, and Encarnacion) make up the difference. Well conine has had 12-8 and now 5 stolen bases the last 3 years. He still moves rather decently. Could be able to play LF. Its not the hardest of all positions... He would be way better than Millar at the Pro defensively. Also, in over 100 games in LF since 1997, Conine hasn't made ONE error in LF. He's played there 6 games this year included and some games at third as well. He's been pretty steady throughout his career with defense. heres a link on his fielding stats since 1997 http://bigleaguers.yahoo.com/mlbpa/players/4600/career

If Lowell is out for a while...
BTW C/R...almonte has 21BB in 24IP well yesterday and today he was pitching with beautiful control of ALL his pitches. Trust me, it was no accident.

If Lowell is out for a while...
according to my sources- which have always been right up to now Lowell has a sprained wrist up to now and the x rays are still sketchy. Marlins think he will be out 3-4 weeks, my source says most likely rest of the season. Lowells name is also on some MLB news wire- crucial list (means hes in a hospital or x ray room i was told) at 12 I will have more info.

If Lowell is out for a while...
Uh yes rune. NO shisnick. Expos planned to not give Lowell stuff to hit. They walked him twice today. and the HBP. Almonte is not stupid, the plan for expos was not to give lowell pitches to hit, he did just that, except HE hit HIm. You forget that the Expos bullpen sucks. You could make a case why put Biddle in when the game is on the line, but he is their closer. Almonte has electric stuff and was lights out yesterday and for some parts today. Marlins cant really touch him. you need to learn more about baseball rune. BTW what are you doing in a marlins board if youre a phillies fan? are you paid to post here?

If Lowell is out for a while...
there is a reason why reggie sanders has not been traded yet. Its either because the pirates want too much for him, or he hasnt cleared waivers. Plus littlefield is an asswhole. He wont trade with Beinfest, even if Beinfest gave him dontrelle for sanders.

If Lowell is out for a while...
Do you forget that this is the same Almonte who can't hit his spots for the life of him? Their's a reason he's with a new team all the time, he has no control. I didn't see it but I doubt he would hit a guy to put him on when his team is behind. WRONG, Almonte today AND yesterday had been lights out and had good command of his stuff (awesome stuff by the way). Just like a hitter, pitchers are streaky. He had his location today. He knew he could get away with hitting mike, so he went ahead and did it. It was kinda the same area where he wanted to hit fox as well. It was intentional, stop backing up this grasschewing scumbag.

If Lowell is out for a while...
you could say Lowell has been "gone" for 2.5 weeks with this slump and i dont think Almonte did it on purpose.... but i didnt see it Ramp, when it comes to situations like this, you wouldnt know. You're better with the Bill james stuff and stat analysis. Almonte did it on purpose. It was clear. Expos planned to not let Lowell beat them and Almonte wanted to drill him. Almonte is known for this man. He threw a 95 mph fastball basically up and in against the Marlins biggest HR threat. And Almonte knew he could get away with it without ejection. Think like a criminal ramp, if you can do it and get away with it while getting the "most bang for your buck" you hit the most productive hitter the fish have, even though he was in a slump.

If Lowell is out for a while...
you could say Lowell has been "gone" for 2.5 weeks with this slump and i dont think Almonte did it on purpose.... but i didnt see it oh come on man, yea hes been in a slump for 2.5 weeks but the marlins have been losing for 2.5 weeks. He was also hammering the ball today and having good ABs. He was on his way to a good september. Without Lowell, Marlins cannot contend, period. They wont have that 4th hitter that they need. Even if the Marlins get lucky and make the playoffs, they will be swept in the first round without lowell. Thats the best scenerio.

If Lowell is out for a while...
Hmmm Donnels? Or maybe go within and bring up Nunez and let Cabs play third? Damn you Almonte! yayyyy nunez in LF and cabs at 3rd!!! Marlins going all the way!!! even better, how about Donnells!!!!

If Lowell is out for a while...
As I said in the game thread, I can't watch it from where I am so I don't know and can't guess on how severe it is. I realize how important Mike is to this team, but also have to deal with the reality of the situation. The best we can hope for now is that he only misses a couple days. if we are lucky, (miracle) he will be out for a few weeks. I doubt that. I'm sure its broken. Put it this way: It sounded like an 8 ball (from game of pool) thrown against a brick wall. Thats how it sounded. Then Lowell grabs his hand and is in tremendous pain and is on the ground then walks to the dugout holding his hand probably holding back tears on the way. couple of days- dream on. Hes gone.
-
If Lowell is out for a while...
yea of course marlinsfans. It wont be that bad. Only the marlins leading HR hitter and best run producer will be gone for the season. Surely nothing serious. Wake up man, Marlins will not contend without Lowell unless Lee, Enc and pudge have 10 hrs each in Sept. Wont happen.

If Lowell is out for a while...
Almonte is a f***ing a**hole. He did that on purpose. Did any of you hear the ball hit his wrist? Its gotta be broken.. either that or seriously shattered. Lowell's reaction said it all. His wrist will be in a cast soon. That was messed up though. I hate Almonte. Tommy Hutton and Kasper were biting their tounges this time though. They didn't reveal anything although they knew it was really serious.

Odom to Miami

Ramon Castro investigated for sexual assault
furman, anybody can get charged with anything if a good complaint is put up. Especially now a days. If you pick up some chick or something, have intercourse, they can make up whatever afterwards. Its not something new here... These types of crimes are easy to make up for females, because they simply can.

thanks fish fry, what a way to set an example for the little kids on this site.

Ramon Castro investigated for sexual assault
Furman, I think you might be taking it too seriously. It could have been one of those sleazy singles bars, which it sounds like it was. Everybody that goes to those things is looking to get laid. If the female then goes to your room afterwards, what does it sound like to you? Who knows, the woman may have gotten ideas from the kobe case when she realized ramon was a baseball player. I doubt she knew how much he made, but just thought all baseball players were millionaires or something. More facts of the case need to come out to base a decision on. Right now, Castro is just guilty of being a scumbag husband and father.

Ramon Castro investigated for sexual assault
I saw the front picture on the site... Is Ramon still in custody? I thought he wasn't charged yet? Or at least bailed out? Kobe recieved bail. Is Pitts any different?

Ramon Castro investigated for sexual assault
No, sexual assault does not have to include forced sex (ergo penetration). As a matter of fact, more than 80 percent of all criminal sexual assault cases do not involve penetration and/or the actual transference of seminal fluids. Which of course makes ancillary evidence like scratches (and the resulting skin underneath her fingernails) or hair (that was left in the room) corrobarative towards a lesser degree of CSC. For example, say he gets charges with CSC in anything less than the 1st degree. The prosecution does not have to prove that penetration nor the tranference of bodily fluids took place, only that through active or passive intimidation or coercion was she forced into any type of sexual situation against her will. looks like I was right Fish fillet. Sexual Assault, at least in this case, involved sexual penetration. Looks like he picked the chick up at a bar and hes a baseball player. Doesn't look like a solid case to me for the woman. Probably that girl got mad at what Castro said afterwards or something and hurt her feelings, either that, or once she realized what castro looked like when she was sober, she regreted it.

thanks for clearing that up Fish fllet. If thats the case, he will get probation and community service at most.

Dontrelle-Mania is over
fillet.. this is totally unecessary. We all know this. I for one knew this would happen. If Dontrelle doesn't have his control, he's doomed. He will be a good pitcher though that can win 15 games or so. If he can gain that control back, which he can, he will be alright. stop beating a dead horse. Its bad enough the pirates will sweep us and almost NO HIT us for the last game.

I say more like 1 out of 50,000. Ramon isn't the best looking guy either.

fantasy baseball tip..
Yea, I used that tip sporadically with pitchers pitching against LA too, but nothing beats the Fish the past 2 or 3 weeks. The only pitchers that didnt succed was that one guy from sandiego and Rueter. EVERY other single pitcher has had a quality if not FANTASTIC start against the fish... yes even in colorado. Amazing.
