  1. Well, I still think we are going to see Harris called up the 31st, just incase, to make him available for the offseason. You never know, somebody on our bench can get injured or something and we will need him. You will see him on the ML squad in september for sure, even though hes doing horrible in AAA right now... BTW, wasn't he hitting .250 (4/20)? Thats not good, but its not horrible...if he adds a couple of hits to that, His avg will look a little better at least.
  2. right now who cares about the future. The team and the community needs to focus on the present.
  3. Bob Graham for me... sorry, I have a bunch of pics with him and I shaking hands when I was a kid like 10 or 11 years ago. He also invited me to the White House when he was Senator that time and I got pictures with me and him on the steps. Still got the letters too. Wouldn't it be sweet for me if he became President?
  4. Yea, Das, you're right. Seriously, what country has Bush NOT pissed off already? http://maddox.xmission.com/limits_to_freedom.html you have to check this out.
  5. yea I realized that, but still the guy has 29 homers...
  6. uh.. no crap Its just that nobody reads those, so I just wanted to let you all know it was there.
  7. ... sorry guys, I think Sanders might have been actually an improvement over Cabrera.. That guy is doing some surprising stuff. Sure fooled me and just about everybody else earlier. hit 2 homers today and a grand slam.. for 29 for the year. I wish he would have had these numbers before the break. He must still be available on waivers too
  8. I posted one already on the Major league one, so go check that one out.
  9. http://www.forums.mlb.com/n/mb/message.asp...sg=6197.1&ctx=0 Thats a link to the Expos board on MLB. Its the first place I found out and my internet is too slow for me to be doing research if this is true.

This will start some messy political talk here, but I want to get some opinions on the legislation that has been attempting to go around for a couple years now on lifting the embargo on Cuba. Mostly I want to hear from the left, since they are the ones that want to lift it, since I hear plenty from the correct side ( ) here in Miami. I'll chime in with some answers every once in a while. All I am going to say is, Kennedy should have provided air support for the exiles invading in the bay of pigs. That is truely the weakest, most retarted President ever. Why do a half a$$ed job? he should have went full force and get it over and done with while he could justify it. Not to mention that 1500 cuban exiles were slaughtered for nothing.
  11. But what right do we have to go in and destroy another form of government? Especially in China and/or North Korea. How does that truly effect life in the United States? Because the form of communism IS a threat to the United States. It would effect life in the US because it would effect our economy. I don't think you want to experience another depression like in the begining of the 20th century... I sure don't.. China and North Korea are threats because of their weapons, population and government. Communism can spread and if it does some more, it will gradually effect our lives. Have you ever heard of the domino theory? I'm not a big history buff, I really kinda hate it, I only do it if I have to, but the history channel is pretty cool. Trust me, the more communism there is in the world, the more we are threatened & effected through economy.
  12. game of the year! I actually think the Marlins Alburqurque team can beat either one of those teams... or at least challenge them
  13. yea i agree, rap has made alot of people look like fools. Most of the rap out there is "fake gucci" anyways ike suge knight says. Suge knight is right though on alot of things. 2Pac, outlawz & suge knight & most of death row has the credibility and they are "real gucci". The rest of those losers just talk alot of crap and is just the same junk over and over. Who cares about how much money you have or how many women you have. People are getting duped with this sh*tty music. Just take a look at that odoms post on the board... it gets me pissed everytime i read it... Dont get me wrong, I'm not a big rap fan or whatever, I just like real music. No stupid or fake sh*t. Just realism. heres one interview with suge knight.. any of his interviews are awesome. Thats a man that can back up anything he says without playing games. Whatever he produces is real rap. no g*y sh*t. http://216.239.37.104/search?q=cache:4lCJz...&hl=en&ie=UTF-8
  14. I know there's one for each league. I was answering c/r who said that McKeon is the manager of the year in the majors. I was saying that IF there was only one for the majors, it would go to Pe?a. The operative word was "IF". How is tony Pena the manager of the year IF there were an award for manager of the year in the majors? yea the royals have shown a vast improvement over last year, but look at the fish? EVER SINCE MCKEON TOOK OVER THE MARLINS HAVE THE BEST RECORD IN THE MAJOR LEAGUES. would you like me to repeat that? How does 10 games under, to BEST RECORD IN THE MAJOR LEAGUES SINCE HE TOOK OVER get second to Pena? Last time I checked, since Pena was the manager, the royals do not have the best record in the league and are at risk to losing the division. Also, if Bobby Cox gets the award, it is not very fair to Jack. Jack has a better winning % with the Marlins than any manager in baseball right now. EVEN COX. Just because the braves have a better record means nothing. Ignore the marlins overall record and just look at it under jack mckeon. HE HAS THE BEST % IN THE MAJORS. McKeon is the best manager in the majors right now and there are facts that prove this. If McKeon would have been our manager through the whole year, I would agree about Pena, but McKeon has been the difference, at least thats what the stats say. If we continue to have the best record in the majors since may, then McKeon is the best manager in the majors. It is no contest. Also, Royals are struggling to maintain the division. I doubt they make the playoffs.
  15. You could do that with any team. Somebody could look at the Marlins and say "Come on man, Almanza? Hollandsworth? I don't even want to look at that roster..." You could look at the Expos roster and say "Vlad, Vidro, Cabrera - that team's going all the way." You'd be wrong if you said that by looking at the stars on the team just like you're wrong for ignoring them. I don't think they have enough to win the WC. They had to travel too much, their pitching staff's been injured, and their bullpen is terrible. But they are catching up. I think the race is going to come down to whoever stays the healthiest. No ACTUALLY, the Hollandsworth does not belong in AAA. He's a good role player and is serviceable. What I meant was, the Expos have quite a bit of players, that otherwise on other teams contending for the WC or even some regular teams, alot of their players would be in AAA. The Marlins really have 1 guy that belongs in AAA. Thats Almanza. Since you challenged me, I had to do the gruelling task of looking at the Expos roster. What a way to start my day. #1 at the top of the list you have the great HECTOR ALMONTE. AAA player of the year. #2 Roy Corcoran, genuine AAA material #3 Erick Knott- vintage AAA #4 TJ Tucker - another vintage AAA #5 Jamey Carroll -should retire in AAA but lucked out with expos #6 Edwards Guzman- translated in english means AAA! #7 Ron Callaway- dont go there (obp a whooping .282!) #8 Vitellelo? common, that guy was washed up long ago Questionables - Macias, Mateo also only 1 healthy major league catcher in schneider lol you cant possibly find that many obvious AAA players in the marlins. These are players that are a DEFINITE farm material for just about any other contending team. Yea they have a couple of exceptional players, but they dont have a major league squad. Youre giving Montreal too much credit and you've ruined my morning by making me look this all up. Besides Vlad, Vidro, Cabrera, Livan, Vazquez and a couple of others, this team makes Detroit look good. also dont forget the EXCEPTIONAL britt reams and fernando tatis.. man those guys really sucked... but they are not on the squad now so did not qualify. Frank Robinson gets my pity and vote for manager of the year. HOW DOES HE DO IT?
  16. It ain't just the Phillies we should be looking at. The Expos have won 6 straight and are now only 3.5 behind us. Yea, thats because Livan pitched 2 of those games taking them into the 8-9 inning each time... Vazquez also had a CG shutout... just wait until that bullpen kicks into more games... they will start blowing the games more. Most of that Expos team belongs in AAA... Common man, Carroll? Cipikey? I dont even want to look at that roster...
  17. I think it should go to McKeon. Without Jack McKeon, the Marlins wouldn't be in the race. Without Baker and Alou, the Cubs and Giants respectively would still be winning games. Dusty Baker has done well with the Cubs. But while everybody talks about them coming back from 95 losses last year, they had won 88 games the year before that. With Sosa, Wood, and Prior, they were probably going to bounce back regardless. Besides, Baker should be disqualified for giving 130 ABs to Lenny Harris (who by the way is only 4 for 20 in AAA). The Giants are lucky. 19-8 in 1-run games. Alou wasn't exactly taking over a bunch of underachievers - they went to the World Series last year. They lost some players but they made some nice pickups too. The only guy I wouldn't mind getting it besides McKeon is Bobby Cox. The managers of the good teams never get the credit they deserve. The Braves have the best record in baseball despite losing a lot of the pitching staff, playing Fick and Castilla in the IF, and Chipper having a down year. Right now, Jack IS the manager of the year in the majors. Its an easy decision, a no brainer. Simply put, the marlins were 10 games under when he took over and since then, they have the best record in the majors. You're giving Felipe Alou too much credit too. The giants are just the giants. They have a mediocre 3rd baseman and a mediocre 2nd baseman who cant stay healthy. Felipe didnt do anything to that team. That team is just a consistant team period. Braves loosing alot of their pitching staff? They have a 17 game winner, which is like having 1 8 game winner and a 9 game winner on a staff, hampton, horacio who complement the rest of the staff pretty nicely. Their bullpen is about regular and smoltz takes the rest of the load on himself. Without smoltz, you wouldnt even be mentioning Cox for manager of the year. Castilla is also hitting .280 with 20 homers... fick aint no pushover either and with J.Lo hitting 34 bombs, Chipper and Fick can hit as mediocre as they want. They also got a pleasant surprice with Giles and Sheff is doing spectacular... remember... the braves had 7 all stars.. and the only one that really didnt belong was Giles... even I could manage that team and look like a genious with that given lineup
  18. why not c/r? Why not? Because the Cubs should be a little better than what they are right now. Like gator83 said, he gave wayyyy too many ABs and playing time to Lenny Harris when Ramon Vazquez was on his bench. He also isnt the best with pitching decisions. I watch alot of Cubs games on TV admiring their pitchers, but dusty can be one of the biggest boneheads at times. Dusty has totally misused Alfonseca, Cruz and a few others in that pen. He lets alot of players underachieve as well and doesnt know how to use his bench. His racist comments were just a cherry on the pie. The Cubs are better than last year, no doubt, but they should be a few games better than what they are. They should be in 1st in NL Central is what I'm saying.
  19. how does wilson alvarez apply? Wilson alvarez is overachieving this season. He is nowhere near the likes of Escobar or Jimenez. Bad comparison for a Future GM.
  20. 100 ... um no way. try 93-94... tops this is credibility at its best!
  21. dusty racist baker? umm no way...

hey Juanky nice sig. whered ya get it? Yup, like Juanky said, it's custom-made... by me! I can make you one if you'd like. I think you kids are too young to realize because you're mostly bandwagon fans, but the real FLASH is Luis Castillo. Don't forget he's led the league in sb's like 3 times or so and had 50 sbs in '99, 62 in '00(MARLINS RECORD) and led the league in '02 with 48. Forget that loser Carr who can't even make a throw to the cutoff man and photoshop Luis in there as former flash. "You can never underestimate the predictability of stupidity." -Bullet Tooth Tony You get off the hook if you tell me the movie. Luiy the real FLASH? Ahem, the original and real flash is Chuck Carr. Maybe the fact that YOU are a bandwagon fan made you forget his ridiculous catches, his blazing speed, and the fact that he played hard every single time. Never stopped smiling, ran hard even with ten pounds of jewelry around his neck. And I'm a bandwagon fan for seeing Chuckie in Juan Pierre? Um, this would probably go to proving I'm not since Chuckie isn't exactly a legend here. A folk hero amongst the die hards sure, but it isn't like I picked Gary Sheffield now is it? Now, most people on the board had a quick snap at you. I tried to tolerate you. But look, since you've come on you've tried to do nothing but make everyone look bad and you've failed at doing so. Can you just seriously stop that already? Seriously? It's getting boring. It's people like you that give us a bad name. yea i was just like 8 or 10 at the time but I still noticed that Carr was a conceited, limited talent player with his head up his a$5. Are you the one that suggested he come in as a coach? now that is funny man... Carr was good for 2 years if even that. Yeah he had a few nice catches, I even remember one where he dived in the Big O on astroturf and burnt himself up. He still is garbage and you give him too much credit.. face it, YOU are the bandwagon fan. Anybody in Miami knows Carr because they knew the marlins for two seasons... 3 if you include now.. that is 1993, 1997, and 2003(partially). You werent there to see Castillo have his best seasons and I bet you were glad to see that Counsell won the job over him as well in 1997. Congrats, you qualify for being a bandwagon fan. No offense, theres nothing wrong in being one.
