1. Im not going to keep defending the Miller signing. I know it sucks when your teams big free agent signing is Antoni Alfonseca, but dont take it out on me. 1.5 mil is a lot to the Marlins, but nothing to the Red Sox. He pitches, they lok like geniuses, they dont it wont be made out to anything and will just be an experiment that didnt pan out. So please, stop ridiculing every move because it doesnt fit the bill for a team like the Marlins. I'm just pointing out that you Red Sox fans can't claim some sort of superiority to the Yankees (because you don't spend a lot of money), when you act just like the Yankees. Only a team as well-heeled as the Sox can afford to give a guy like Miller $1.5 million to rehab for them. If the Marlins were rolling in that kind of cash, I wouldn't blame them for making that move, but don't try to act like the Sox are any different from the Yankees. They're not.
2. So nigerians lacked protection from harsh climates so a more perfected human has evolved which can withstand those climates. At the same time, they lost the ability to withstand the Nigerian climates. Placed within context it's not a bad or misleading argument. Swedes are more perfected for harsh Scandinavian climates, but Nigerians are more perfected for harsh African climates. The problem is when you're arguing that one is "better" than the other completely out of context and using it in a general sense.
3. It's not even somewhat relevant to this discussion.? What does a doctor believing in miracles have to do with creationism being taught in classrooms? Both would on the surface appear to be connected by religious belief. Of course I may be wrong about that...feel free to present an argument to the contrary. "The Exorcist" features a priest and had religious themes in it, but it still has nothing to do with this dicussion.
4. when have i related evolution and atheism? You were the one in the "Intelligent Design" thread who countered Lcyberlina's view that the ACLU was defending us from Christian fundamentalism by suing to keep creationism out of classrooms with the following: "how? by teaching atheist fundamentalism." communism and imperialism have not much to do with each other in general, but they do in the context of china. China was one big imperialist nation before the communists came along. You might as well call "Touched by an Angel" feudalist propaganda since Christianity thrived under the feudalist system for hundreds of years.
5. it having nothing to do with it is just your opinion. to me the movie being produced in a communist empire and it deffending imperialism have a lot to do. and you claim that i relate lots of things to communism. where are the other many things at? What does imperialism have to do with communism? You still haven't answered that question. And you're right. I misspoke. You don't relate lots of things to communism. What I mean to say was, you make illogical leaps to associate things that aren't really related - like evolution and atheism and communism and imperialism.
6. Damn you may have just opened a can of worms. Adaptation to environment and evolution arent exactly the same. Are you saying that the people in sweden involved from the people in Nigeria, which would mean that the swedes are superior to the nigerians much in the same way that a salamander is superior to a trout? WHOA!!! Where did this superiority stuff come from? Now, if your point is that Swedish people are superior to Nigerian people as far as being able to survive in the Swedish climate then, can you really argue with that? But, generally superior? I hope you're not trying to say that. Adaptation is not exactly the same as evolution, but they are closely related in the same way as microeconomics and macroeconomics.
7. Creation. If evolution were true, I could grow a tail or an extra arm right now Spoken like somoene who has never taken a biology class in his life.
8. which lots of things do i relate with communism that have nothing to do with it? Just last week, you related the imperialist overtones of the movie "Hero" with communism; when it had nothing to do with it.
9. If you like Final Fantasy-type RPGs, I say get it now. It's incredible.
10. I hope fish fry isnt saying that communism and atheism arent related, when Marx himself often wrote about the evils of religion and how it must not exist in a communist state. Atheism has nothing to do with communism. Communism is an economic system founded by a man who was a staunch atheist. Communism itself is no more atheist than capitalism would be if Adam Smith was an atheist. His own biases aside, a communist state could still be run with religion in place just like a feudal system could be run without religion. BTW, Marx wasn't the founder of communism. I figured you would've known that with your poli-sci degree.

Here's some advice:? stop relying on god and take responsibility for making your own life better. 643375 Here's some advice: stop relying on government and take responsibility for making your own life better So now he's praying to the government to make his life better?
12. When a discussion is about creationism and evolution, IMO the fact that a majority of doctors are religious and believe in miracles seems somewhat relevant. It's not even somewhat relevant to this discussion. What does a doctor believing in miracles have to do with creationism being taught in classrooms? Of those doctors that believe in miracles, could you tell me how many of them would want creationism to be taught in public schools? I mean that would actually address the topic at hand if you feel that you need to appeal to authority to back up your non-argument.
13. Talk about putting words in people mouth. No one has said Science is bad for humanity. I'm not putting words in your mouth. I never said anything to the effect that you are saying science is bad for humanity. You ARE the one who said that science is atheist propaganda. And I quote, from you: "Atheism and evolution go hand in hand.Is a mean of propaganda for atheist scientific world to further push their believes on the rest of the people." I just pointed out how atheiest community is pushing for Evolution as only means to educate individuals on history of the earth for their own agenda. It's not just the atheist community. Plenty of non-atheists are also trying to keep creationsim out of the classroom, because they know they'd become laughingstocks for allowing it. Creation science offers another alternate of earth history instead of just presenthing ONE theory to the individual.Allowing the young person to make a desicion on his own. BTW I'm really not an advocate for pushing creation to the classroom.I just don't like the fact how many atheist try to stump any attempt by conservative christian by saying it doesn't belong in a science classroom because on the contrary, there a scientific version which would provide another alternate to individual. It doesn't belong in a science class, because the creation story has no scientific basis to it. Some guy wrote it down on parchment 4000-5000 years ago. That's no more scientific than "The Iliad". As for "creation science", the reason it's not taught is because it's junk science. You won't find that stuff being taught in major private Universities, so why should high schools teach it. Creation science has about as much business being taught in classes as Star Trek. Both have a scientific basis, but neither one is real science. I especially love how creation scientists try to use the Entropy argument to argue that the world could only be about 6000 years old (which places it along the Bible's timeline), but conveniently forgetting that the Earth is not a completely closed system. WHOOPS!
14. just to prove your theory wrong. i grew up in communism, a system that preaced atheism. i grew up an atheist myself and only went to church so my grandmother wouldn't go alone. as a grown man i somehow one day started believing in god and now consider myself a christian. oh, and i don't go to church. so how have i been brainwashed? You could be a reactionary Christian, since you seem to associate a lot of things with communism that have nothing to do with it.
15. Science has nothing to do with atheism. It can't move toward or from atheism anymore than it can move to or from a ham sandwich. Just because he punked out isn't going to make atheists all over the world suddenly become god-fearing folk anymore than Chrisitians will give up their faith when a preist declares that he doesn't believe in god.

17. Heh, applying faith to science. I love the hypocracy. The difference being, if he wanted to look at how the Big Bang theory came about, all he has to do is put in the work to study the science behind it and gain an understanding of it. It's a lot better than placing faith in what some guy (who didn't understand the concept of the summer solstice) wrote down on a piece of parchment 4000 years ago.
18. She can do w/e she wants and she should not have been banned from a public school prom for wearing the flag. This is a blatant assault on the 1st amendment. That being said why the hell does she have to wear such an ugly dress, and yes shes doin it just to cause a stir. however, the school failed the test by trampling on 1st amendment rights I doubt you would be so outraged if she was wearing a Kerry-Edwards dress. This is not an assault on the 1st amendment anymore than it is when schools tell kids they can't wear t-shirts promoting drug or alcohol usage.
19. If we kept Millar then we'd have had no Mark Redman, Come seasons end would Millar be in RF over Cabrera? or maybe he'd have made the throw from LF to Pudge to beat the Giants? There was no reason to even keep Encarnacion. Millar was a much better player.
20. 'stros are cost cutting for Beltran. That shouldn't be necessary. They already got rid of Jeff Kent and it doesn't look like Roger is coming back. Signing Beltran would be irrelevant, if they don't do something about the pitching staff. As it is, whatever benefits they get from a full season of Beltran probably won't make up for what they will lose from replacing Jeff Kent.
21. I'm forever doubtful of the Marlins and Red Sox ever doing anything considering how poorly Theo treated the Fish in the Millar thing If anyone was at fault in the Millar thing, it was the Marlins for being a bunch of cheap bastards.
22. Trammell, Sandberg, and Blyleven. And Dave Concepcion doesn't deserve to be on the list. As it is, Tony Perez doesn't deserve to be in the Hall.
23. Jesus people, cry me a river. A 1.5 million dollar deal, we sure are evil empire 2?!! Yeah, when you can afford to throw away $1.5 million on a guy that likely won't pitch, it is Evil Empire 2. 641379 He doesnt pass his physical it wont matter. They have a clause terminating his deal if he cant pitch. Read up before you atrt spouting b.s. They obviously checked him out before giving him the money, so the "physical" is a mere formality. They wouldn't drop $1.5 million on him when everyone knows he's badly damaged goods and then be surprised by the physical. If the Astros thought the guy could pitch next year, you don't think they would've offered him at least $2 million?
24. Considering the lackluster performance of the Marlins front office this offseason, I gotta go with the Braves.
25. Anyone else on here have this game?
