What I know....
Oh yeah the marlins are really crappy. How about he gets that World Series trophy and slaps a little sense into you huh. I didn't say every team he's been on has been crappy, I said he's been on every crappy team imaginable. Matthews, Jr. was on a good Cubs team in 2001.
-
What I know....
From what he did in San Diego last year, Matthews, Jr. is better than Encarnacion, who's also been on "every crappy team imaginable"
-
What I know....
Whatever we'd give up for Encarnacion would be too much. huh? As in money, players, draft picks, etc.

Some news..........
The Marlins can't outbid a paper bag, let alone the Orioles, Mets, Dodgers, and Mariners.
-
What I know....
I don't want Encarnacion. I'd rather have Gary Matthews, Jr. Are you kidding me? .271-.346 in San Diego last year. Much more of a threat to get on base than Encarnacion.

Hitter projections for 2004
Yes but Lowell did so terrible the second half it wouldn't be surprising if he didn't do all that great in 2004. That makes no sense. Lowell's power numbers fell significantly after the break. Who's to say they won't fall significantly in 2004?

Hitter projections for 2004
He could very well do better than Lowell, seeing as Lowell didn't do anything the second half of the season. Josh has decent plate discipline. He may strikeout a lot but he'll take a walk, which is why his OBP was still higher than Lowell's. Lowell K'ed less in more games, had a better average, better OPS, ect. He did better than Phelps in every category BUT OBP. Josh is in no way at Mike's level. Yes but Lowell did so terrible the second half it wouldn't be surprising if he didn't do all that great in 2004.

Marlins World Series 2003 DVD
I don't know if this has been answered, but what exactly is on the DVD? I have the Patriots' 2001 Super Bowl season DVD and it was kind of lame (HAHA to Phin fans,) and was just wondering what was on this one.

So what's this non-tendering stuff.

Hitter projections for 2004
Actually I wouldn't be surprised if Phelps blew up next season. I'm not disagreeing with that at all. But he won't be better than Lowell. Josh needs to get some plat discipline too. He K'ed over 100 times in just over 100 games I believe. He could very well do better than Lowell, seeing as Lowell didn't do anything the second half of the season. Josh has decent plate discipline. He may strikeout a lot but he'll take a walk, which is why his OBP was still higher than Lowell's.

Hitter projections for 2004
They are not random. He gets to these numbers by using aging projections among other tools. I'll try and find his 2003 ZiPS projections. A bunch of people from this community (baseball primer) are starting to get jobs in front offices, so they know what they are talking about. Yes, they may be smart people, but like Baseball Prospectus' PECOTA, it's another bad projecting tool from good baseball minds.

Is he a free agent or not or what's up with him? It doesn't seem to me like he's a free agent but when people were making lists earlier in the year they included him.
