  1. Just a heads up, they were just saying tomorrow night on the 6pm Sports Center they will have All Access: Dan Uggla. Apparently the cameras followed him throughout the flight to NY, getting ready for the HRD etc. so it should be good! And no, this isn't a figment of your imagination, ESPN is actually paying attention to a Marlin :wow
  2. Dan Uggla FTW. Chris Berman FTMute.. button. For real :lol Although I would love to hear him say AND HIS NAME IS....DAN UGGLA!!
  3. does anyone have Hanley's numbers against Cliff Lee? I wanna see Hanley lead off with extra bases...that sure would be nice...then Utley comes up, swings wildly at the first pitch and pulls a muscle in his shoulder and he can't finish the at-bat...so Dan Uggla has to replace him with an 0-1 count...and, one night after winning the Home Run Derby, Uggla drills one to deep left and the NL is up 2-0 in the first after a couple of Marlins make a name for themselves at Yankee Stadium...again! Wooo!!! Don't forget that then Dan and Han are named ASG co-MVP's!!!
  4. Danny For The Win!!!
  5. Wow. America, get ready for your Home Run Derby champion. His middle name is Cooley. Does anyone know who will be throwing to him in the derby? Arsenault? Not a Marlin. Uggla said, and I forget where I heard/read it, that he isn't bringing someone on the Marlins so the staff can enjoy the ASB. When was this? Here's an excerpt from an article on marlins.com (the one titled "Uggla Honored to Take Part in HR Derby") where he talks about it: Laid back, Uggla is an old-school performer. He doesn't overthink or overanalyze the art of hitting. He looks for a pitch to drive, and pretty much takes a big cut. To him, it doesn't matter who throws to him in the Derby. Normally in Marlins batting practices, Uggla will face either bullpen coordinator Pierre Arsenault or manager Fredi Gonzalez. Uggla plans on just finding someone in New York to do the honors. The reason Uggla isn't asking anyone on the staff is because he wants them to take the break off. "I think the All-Star break, for most of these guys, they'll have a chance to be with their families," Uggla said. "That's what I want these guys to do. I'll get somebody to throw to me up there. It doesn't matter who it is. I think a lot of guys bring their BP throwers. But these guys have families they never get to see. "To have somebody go up there to throw BP [or Derby rounds] to somebody, I don't really think it is worth it when you have a family to see. It's all just fun. I'll just find somebody up there to throw strikes."
  6. Dont look to much into the win streak for the mets right now. They played the rockies and giants 5 out of those 8 games. this streak, while impressive, doesnt mean much. Yes, that's a very good point too.
  7. Good win tonight. Now if only the Mets could stop winning. And thank you Gregg for not blowing it. Can anyone provide any insight into the Mets recent surge? I read on ESPN that Manuel has created a more relaxed atmosphere and told the team to have fun, but they seem to have a pep in their step. Any thoughts.... Frankly I think it is a total fluke. I think they are one bump-in-the-road away from completely falling apart all over again.
  8. We have a 4.3 Pythagorean Over/ Under (2nd in MLB), meaning we've won about 4 more games than what we should have going by the runs scored/ runs allowed formula. I love stats, but I also love how this team defies them. It gives a lot of perspective. GO FISH! It's true! One day on ESPN someone was actually defending us as a team (shocking, I know) and was somewhat comparing us to the D'backs of last year (not so much in how the team plays, but more that if you looked at their numbers it didn't add up, yet there they were in the playoffs) and he said about the Marlins "I really can't give you many of their numbers right now that will back up my argument except for one: Wins and Losses" Was that person skip bayless? and was the show first and ten? Right you are! lol i saw that segment. it was the first time i ever heard him say something positive about the marlins. Yeah me too lol, I actually had to rewind it like 3 times because I wantes to hear it over and over.
  9. Its disapointing that he is going to have to split time with Hoover, who is no better than Rabelo. dude, excellent sig. Agreed. I love it.

  13. Come on 3 in a ROW!!! Yeah, we haven't put together a 3 in a row winning streak since May. Damn tonights game is late! But I'm ok with that because I'm going to see DMB tonight and I should get home in time for the game (or at least the majority of it). GO FISH!
  14. Great game, definitely a nail biter for awhile but alls well that ends well right? JJ looked amazing and Hanley showed us why he is an ALL-STAR!
  15. The link isn't working for me, but I'm sure it's bulls*** anyway. Cody is not that bad looking, I wouldn't call him ugly.
