  1. Just got his first AAA hit and scored a run to tie the game at 3
  2. Maybin hitting lead-off for the Z's today. First AB goes to a full count and he is called out on strikes.
  3. Whos replacing his roster spot? Koronka
  4. Can't wait to meet him this week.
  5. The 31 replied to Hotcorner's topic in Sports
Gave up 1 run over 8 innings yesterday.
  6. I was being sarcastic. Surprising that the Ump tossed him with it being an off speed pitch. It was a Major League ump down on rehab.
  7. Bring a spark Coghlan, bring a spark. Do we know if he's starting? I hope so... would like to see how the kid plays. Maybe he can provide a spark? He was told yesterday that he would start at second tonight.
  8. Wasn't trying to hit the guy. Barone was pretty upset about getting ejected.
  9. Ramirez hit a homer in the second inning. Stood and admired it. When he touched home, Hayes told him something. Ramirez pushed Hayes. Benches clear, Ramirez ejected. Next batter 0-2 count, Barone tries to come inside with a change up and hits the batter, he gets tossed and Erod does as well. First time Barone has ever been tossed.
  10. Btw, makes me wonder why they say that he'll play 2B, in the article. Maybe it's just me, but I get the feeling that Uggla will sit one of these games in Colorado. They mentioned 2B/OF, yet there was no mention of 3B. I don't like it. He is going to start at second tonight and then go to the OF from there playing second just to give Uggla the night off.
  11. I'll probably talk to him tomorrow. I'll ask.
  12. "Carlos Martinez has been pitching well for Triple-A New Orleans, and it appears the right-hander could be headed to the Marlins. According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Martinez will be promoted to the big league club after Wednesday's game with the Braves. The likely choice to go to the Minor Leagues is lefty Graham Taylor, who is set to make his third big league start on Wednesday. Taylor has been filling Andrew Miller's spot in the rotation. Miller, who is recovering from a strained right oblique, threw a rehab assignment game for the Class A Jupiter Hammerheads on Wednesday. Martinez was in big league camp with the Marlins. The hard-throwing right-hander was with the club in 2006, but he experienced elbow problems and underwent Tommy John surgery. For New Orleans, he has appeared in 12 games and thrown 11 innings, striking out 10 and walking six. He has a 4.09 ERA. Another Triple-A reliever who could be part of the Marlins plans this season is Tim Woods." -- Joe Frisaro http://joefrisaro.mlblogs.com/ Pretty sure Tim is on the DL.
  13. I am afraid to turn the TV on in Hattiesburg
  14. Gaby Sanchez, 1b, Marlins: Sanchez, 25, sprained his right knee yesterday and had to leave the game for Triple-A New Orleans. Sanchez was covering home plate after an errant throw from center field when Round Rock?s Yordany Ramirez collided with him at home. Sanchez applied the tag to record the out, but was knocked down and left the game. The Double-A Southern League MVP in 2008, Sanchez is hitting .345/.414/.517 in 23 games with 11 walks and 14 strikeouts. No word yet on how much time the Marlins expect Sanchez to miss. http://www.baseballamerica.com/blog/prospects/?p=3739
  15. Davidson looking pretty solid so far. Haven't seen him pitch yet, but he is an extremely nice guy. Just wish someone would have told me his flight was delayed 40 minutes when I had to go pick him up at the airport.
  16. LETS GEAUX ROUND ROCK
  17. As soon as I saw Frenchy's name, I knew this quote would appear.
  18. with a right knee sprain. ETA: According to the Z's PbP man Tim Grubbs via the trainer Steve Miller.
  19. Looking good for 0-9, down 3 already.
  20. And so it continues.
  21. Yea it would be nice to see them win a home game.
  22. RIP Playboy Buddy Rose.
  23. IDK how you start off 0-7 at home.
  24. Game ended with the bases loaded on a controversial check swing.
  25. I missed the first inning but I know he walked 2. He had a wild pitch that bounced in the grass before the dirt in the 3rd. Command isn't his strong suit.
