  1. Who says the Marlins don't show enough interest in the international market? They do, just, y'know, after the market has already been playing MLB baseball for a few years.
  2. Hey now, they don't call Ozuna "Big Bear" for nothing!
  3. I agree. He's the most attractive (due to his young age and his season prior to this one) and maybe the most expendable (this season's slump and his disposition, earned or not). Everyone else is too fringe (Bour, Dietrich) or too essential (Yelich, Adeiny (!), Stanton) to trade away or get a good a return.
  4. Yes, but when will know if the Earth has fully formed yet?
  5. Eh, "bum" managerial types are often the ones available for interviews/jobs. The good ones tend to stay with the same team until they turn into bums (or "retire" to go to a prestigious team)
  6. They say they are down with OBP, but yeah, we know them.
  7. "Mama Latos announces she is with child! If it is a boy, she'll name him Mat"
  8. This post brought to you by Joe Frisaro!
  9. Wasn't it the same last year, when he got hit? He/the team kept on saying he would return that year for a little while even though others were saying no way.
  10. Better late than never? The rotation has been a mess, but it really is a shame that the offense took this long to get rolling. Of course, now that it is rolling, that can mean good things for next season, however, that assumes no slumps once again. The team can be this good, but it can also be as bad as it was in the earlier part of the season. That is where the lack of depth in the minors hurts us. No one can come in and be the spark plug call-up.
  11. Remember, Cy Young also holds the record for the most losses by a pitcher!
  12. Meanwhile, his evil twin Sotal Tam performed well on his performance review at work, brought everyone bagels, and happily flirts with the receptionist. Everybody loves him!
  13. The choice is clear: draft smartly. Don't reach for players because they come cheap. In the mean time, you don't have to trade Stanton, Jose, or Yelich, but sell high on the next tier, and don't hesitate to do so if you are out of the race or don't project well for the next year. Sign good, quality FAs. Strive to be above .500 for a few years, with the hope of sniffing the wild card each September, don't go all out trading prospects to get iffy guys to make an uncertain push in the off-season. It hasn't worked for this ownership ever (Pudge was a signing, not a trade) Once the minors are filled with good guys again, then you can play the trade-for-a-rental game again or even be confident you can call up guys that can help.
  14. I always knew Start was greater than Shutdown!
  15. Since he has been involved in prospect development, I guess that makes him a players' DelPiano.
