  1. Did the Astros had the debt load Loria left us and Jeter/Sherman didn't pay off??????
  2. Obviously we had NO ONE in this race :rain
  3. fish20: Just look at what the last few world series teams did. The Cubs and Astros spent a few years sucking, but they did the process right, invested in the draft and IFA, and they did it right. They spent years rebuilding, but in baseball especially, this process is a proven winner if you dont take short cuts and you do it right. I truly understand your comment above, yet it needs a HUGE BUT after because (1) OURS are new owners with NO EXPERIENCE PERIOD (playing baseball doesn't constitute experience needed), (2) WITH NO EXTRA MONEY, (3) with MIKE HILL. The ones you mentioned have (1) EXPERIENCED owners with EXPERIENCE, (2) have some EXTRA MONEY BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T HAVE LORIA PUT THEM IN SUCH HOLE, (3) NO MIKE HILL. So although your comments are valid mine are just as valid!!! Ours have three strikes already against them which in baseball means your _____________________. You can fill in the blank with whatever one word answer you wish.
  4. One area not yet discussed is how many years has Stanton been completely healthy and played the full year? Yes there is the mouth injury which is completely NOT his fault. But he is prone to other issues due to his build. Of course that is genetics. But if I am looking at him as a possible player in my team, I'm taking this into consideration. There has been a JUNK of salary paid to him in the past where he has been on the bench watching. Just saying On the SAD SIDE for us would not being able to watch another year like this :-( assuming no injuries, lol.
  5. I was hoping Yelli would also get one. Wonder if the vote total is ever announced.
  6. Good luck to THEM. Obviously I don't think he's manager material.
  7. I find your synopsis interesting so I'm going back to read the comments again. I only saw the Jeter letter. Anybody know where I can listen to the presser?
  8. This team isn't going anywhere. Some players might, but the Marlins stay here.
  9. If players are taking over managing today, I wonder if Ichy pitches also :EWBTE-min:
  10. It would be nice to see the Marlins win final game as they normally don't do well against the Braves
  11. Moving up Stanton hoping he gets more at bats
  12. Well Stanton didn't get tonight and you could see his frustration
  13. I'll be switching channels watching football and baseball. Not certain Stanton will get 60 but I think he won title
  14. Attendance is up. Obviously waiting for home run
  15. It's a good game and you're the only one here? So far Dee got his 60. Hope he gets another
  16. Any word who came up with $ for sale to be finalized? The last I heard they were short
  17. I will miss Connie and McKeon. McKeon was known to do some scouting (don't know how much he's done lately) as well as some help at spring training. Now Connie may stay as commentator, not certain. And he was seen often at batting cage. So he may have helped some of batters/coaches as another spotter. BU T if the guys admitted they weren't doing much for the team the funds could be used elsewhere. I doubt they were making $50k. What do you think? Maybe positions aren't needed. Maybe not being replaced. Now we wanted Loria out and it appears he is. It doesn't make sense that these guys could be fired without a nod that team has been sold with owners approval is sold to them. So I don't like it (other than Samson) but we can't/couldn't continue with Loria, so I'm afraid I'm going to have to wait and see. Maybe it will take a couple years for improvement. But they may have to cut people we don't want and maybe not cut others. People's butts have to start sitting in seats or we're not going to have a baseball team. So I'm certainly hoping, almost positive, that they can't completely gut the team, make fans unhappy, or their investment will turn to zero. That's my humble opinion.
  18. Nobody is here huh. They aren't doing bad considering what AZ has been doing. And going to Rockies next. HRs fly out there pretty easy. At least in the past. Will see what Stanton does
  19. I certainly hope so.
  20. WOW what a night. Certainly this will boost morale after so many games where the opposite of tonight has happened to us. Hopefully this may give us some momentum into a great showing the next two games so the Marlins will feel like they can do something against wild card opponents coming up.
  21. Stanton obviously knew he needed yesterday off. It would be awesome if Yelich comes back with his own dong tomorrow night :-)
  22. Straily reached 2nd base. Glad to see his team mates behind him.
  23. For I don't know how many years it seems the Marlins "die" during September.
