Stanton's strikeouts will go down and his walks will go up as he goes through the league a few times and the poor pitch recognition from inexperience decreases. If Uggla can do it, then certainly a more talented and more fundamentally sound Stanton will as well. Stanton is going to get a lot of hits with the insanely hot grounders and low lines he produces. He will be good for forty dingers. Giancarlo will do 280/400/550 easy by 2012. And then, who knows. It will all come down to pitch recognition and lineup protection.

Hensley and Sanabia should join JJ, Ricky and Anibal in the rotation. Put three lefties in the bullpen.

Wow, best player to ever play the game. That's praise. But so far hasn't shown but half the heart. Hanley really needs someone to kick his a** and make him realize his potential. All Hanley needs to do is watch Giancarlo go about his daily business.

Even though some of them aren't the utmost best character examples (namely Manny), its nice to see that Hanley has a lot of supporters in the game and some have taken a bit of a mentor role with him. Hanley has said that Big Papi is like a Dad to him. And I've heard him referenced with Pujols more than once before this. Not sure if its still alive but I'm pretty sure Miggy had a nice role over Hanley through 07. Thats good to see and should help in Hanley's progress, evolution, and maturity in the years to come. Its like they all see his talent and seemingly want to help him nurture it. If thats the case, you gotta love and appreciate that. Unfortunatelyf Miggy and Ortiz are not very good role models. But Pujols certainly is.

If you'd asked me a year and a half ago if we should spend this kind of paper on Uggla I would have blown a gasket. But I've never seen someone improve this way. He is absolutely worth every penny. But it only makes sense for the Marlins IF AND ONLY if the Marlins dedicate themselves to defense at 3B and C. A year and a half ago he came off a season where his OPS was .008 points lower. This. Uggla has been deserving of this kind of contract for a couple of years now and the fact that he his hitting for a solid average along with the high OBP and SLG it puts it over the top that we should pay him that big money contract. When it comes to calling up Dominguez and moving Coghlan all I have to say is we'll cross that bridge when we get their but we need to do a couple of things within the players in the organization for next season. Resign Uggla, Move Coghlan to 3rd, callup Maybin to be the everyday centerfielder, call up Ceda, drop/trade/release Helms, trade Cody (it pains me so much even typing those words). You should be in charge of the FO.
