  1. We have to look at the good side of things. If Lucas continues to hit 600, he's got an excellent chance to be rookie of the year
  2. Yelich has an abdominal strain and is day to day. DL a possibility.
  3. Can't believe you said Stanton is a useful 6th slot hitter on a good team. Well, I want to be fair and give Stanton his due.
  4. You trade him in the offseason only in one circumstance. If the front office goes up to him, offers to give him a long term contract, and he refuses to even listen, then you trade him. Any other circumstance at this point? Yeah, you hold onto him and milk him for all he's got. "All he's got" this year is lousy production and a long time on the DL
  5. John Buck is huge and always in great shape.
  6. Stanton's hitting problem is that he does not recognize pitches early in the delivery. Not likely to change. Stanton is a useful six slot hitter on a good team. He'll get hot a couple of times a year and carry the team. But he will never be the type of hitter teams want at bat in big time clutch situations. Good athlete but a little clumsy as a baseball player, great physique, questionable wheels, presently unmotivated, doesn't want to be a Marlin Trade him. Now. For infielders.
  7. This is dumb. Wouldn't you rather see what Stanton looks like in a lineup with Ozuna, Dietrich, Yelich, and LoMo?I know I do. There is no rush to trade him now. See what you have with a healthy team first. If it's as good as it has the potential to be, who's to say Stanton doesn't decide he wants to stick around? And if he doesn't, they can still get a ton for him this offseason. Can't get a ton for Stanton if he decides to spend most of the season on the DL with leg "issues"
  8. And what prima donna attitude? Seriously, WTF? Didn't anyone watch him play right field this year? Could not have cared less.
  9. Olt had vision problems, now fixed. He is a solid 3b prospect. Stanton thinks he is a star and too good for the Marlins. Send him away before his injuries lessen his value.
  10. Stanton for Profar and Olt. Throw in Ruggiano, Polanco, Pierre, Dobbs - any and all. Ozuna makes Stanton and his prima donna attitude redundant. That gives us Morrison, Profar, Hech, Olt around the horn and Ozuna, Yelich, Coghlan, Jake M, Issac in the outfield Brantley and Mathis. Subs and PHs from Lucas, Solano, Brown, Kotchman, Valakia, Diaz Ready to rock and grow into a contender. Stanton just clogs things up and puts Ozuna in the wrong position. He has bad wheels anyway.
  11. Fernandez could play 3B on the days he is not pitching.
  12. Solano is a good player. Name me 15 2nd baseman you would rather have. You can't. I can name maybe 5 or 10. He is good enough as long as he isn't hitting third or cleanup. The point I am making is that when he comes back and yelling comes up we need to try coghlan out at 3rd base instead of bringing in an unproven player like Juan Francisco and just HANDiNG him the job when we have proven players that we can put there without the question marks. 2nd basemen I would rather have than Donovan Solano: Robinson Cano Ian Kinsler Dustin Pedroia Matt Carpenter Chase Utley Marco Scutaro Howie Kendrick Brandon Phillips Daniel Murphy Jason Kipnis Omar Infante Jose Altuve Neil Walker Jedd Gyorko Mark Ellis Eric Sogard Danny Espinosa Derek Dietrich Jeff Keppinger Dan Uggla Rickie Weeks And Zobrist
  13. I like the sound of "Choo Choo Coghlan."
  14. i think it is Donovan solano. it has to be. I think he is Ozzie Guillan
  15. Washed up, on their way out, last legs major leaguers like Polanco and Pierre and Dobbs. Or long time, productive AAA guys who might have a couple of years in the majors filling in until the youngsters are ready. I'll go with the latter because they care.
  16. What a fun night. Turner unexpectedly looks awesome Free and easy with great control with three pitches. Ozuna still locked in. And a couple of career AAA guys are the heros. Brings a tear to one's eye and a great feeling in the heart.
  17. Bad wheels. Trade Stanton now.
  18. Trades are ALWAYS judged after the fact. That is the nature of trades and judgments. And, in such judgments, Beinfest and the Marlins always comes out the loser. Apologists for the Marlins FO always claim that no one could have foreseen events. But, of course, the other side of the trade did.
  19. Who said anything about "turning things around"? The point was that they won't be '62 Mutts bad when it's all said and done. Going from a less than 25% winning percentage to around .500 is certainly "turning things around"
  20. Who could Loria hire to replace the FO? Which young up and coming stud will come to rebuild the Marlins? Which experienced old timer wants to end his career working for Loria?
  21. Yep, the return of two constantly injured everyday players and three 90 pitch ceiling starters with no record of ML success will really turn things around. Let us not forget that two of our best three starters will be playing elsewhere in a month or so. Then the Marlins are one sore Fernandez right arm from having the worst starting staff in ML history - excepting the Spiders, of course.
  22. I have hopes that a Lomo with two good legs might fulfill the promise that was once his. I would feel more optimistic if he could hit 250 in the minors before coming up.
  23. Logan Morrison got a hit today so he is not longer zero for double A And Yelich walked twice so he was only Oh for two.
  24. Yelich is not the Saviour. He has a lot to learn and AA is the place for it.
  25. Kearns is patrolling the upper decks trying to convince fans to move lower.
