May 28, 201313 yr I have been reading on the site for a while and i have never seen so much negativity as i see recently these days. I know that our record is not very good right now but there is alot to look forward to on this team and i don't know how there is so much negativity in a place where we have all been here before in the same situation. remember how in 2002 we were bad? what happened in 2003? remember when we had the team in 2005 that was underperformed and beinfest cleaned the roster up? what happened in 2006? i know it has been tough for the marlins and for us fans but i have confidence in this front office that has rebuilt this team so many times with good trades and stealing unknown players from other systems and watching them explode in to stars before our eyes. im so passionate about this team and i know alot about the game and i know that this team will contend sooner than alot of you think. it seems like its the popular thing to hate the marlins these days around town but as the real fans maybe we should take a step back and we can see that things are not bad at all. we do have the worst record in mlb right now but we also have so many injuries that have hurt the offense and our pitching. the young guys are playing great and the veterans are going to start to hit like they always have soon. we are missing our two best hitters with Solano and Stanton and our second and third best pitchers with Eovaldi and Alverez. id there a team in the mlb that can have that happen to them and not be with the record we have? i think if the team hangs in there until the all stars break and stanton and solano and eovaldi and alverez come back we can make a run towards .500 and things will look great going in to next year when we have christian yelich added to the team and also logan morrison. some of you have forgotten a little bit about what beinfest has done for this team in the past. i trust him and maybe some of you disagree and like to look at sabermetrics more but i for one trust the eyes alot more when i evaluate a player and im glad that this front office does the same mostly because it has brought some great and exciting players to this team. we always rebuild and it will be no different this time. GO FISH!!!!!!
May 29, 201313 yr Kudos for being optimistic but we blow. Solano is probably at best a utility player on most teams. Why do you have faith in the FO? They have failed us. What players have we stolen? Then tigers have fleeced us though.
May 29, 201313 yr Probably because the team has lost 3x as much as they've won so far? That's my guess...
May 29, 201313 yr Which young guys are hitting great other than Ozuna (for now)? This team can't hit or pitch. We're putting players who haven't had nearly enough minor league service time to warrant them being here now if it weren't for the injuries and complete gutting of the roster. I just hope we don't ruin Fernandez by wasting a perfectly good year of his service time on this trainwreck.
May 29, 201313 yr I think this might be the only team in history to be better when the regulars selected by the management are injured
May 29, 201313 yr Gee! Why is everyone down on this team? Well first off many may feel betrayed by management in how they've handled the off-season, completely depleting the team of Major League ready players while getting in what most analysts call a weak return and alienating the already small fan base, oh and can I mention the teams best hitter wasn't happy by this either. Secondly if you're counting Solano as one of the teams best hitters we have problems, especially when we look at all the players the FO stole from other organizations! You know players like Mathis! I guess for me my frustration with the team is the lack of direction, they tried to buy a pennant last year and it blew up in their face. Then they commit to going with draft and development but they rush players to the big team, on a team that was designed to go nowhere, why lose time on how long the team can control them?. I'm still a fan of the team but overall I just have no confidence right now they've taken the right steps to right the ship.

May 29, 201313 yr Author Some of you really need to stop with the blind hate of Loria and Sampson and Beinfest. You need to trust them to know what is best for the team they are professionals and it will just take a little time. Have faith and enjoy watching this team developed. Look at Toronto blue jays season this year. Is anyone missing those "awesome" players? Nobody could have predicted that Miguel Cabrera would become as great as he is and we all forget so quick how bad his defense and attitude were when he was here. I'm glad he has figured it out but he just was not going to work out here. Same as Hanley Ramerez. The players we got back didn't work out but that happens sometimes to everybody. Nobody gives them credit for finding Solano and Ruggiano or Mike Dunn. And Rabelo will be a top 5 offensive catcher in the NL within 3 years. It takes a while to build a winner and patients is what we all need. They will get it done.
May 29, 201313 yr And Rabelo will be a top 5 offensive catcher in the NL within 3 years. What the... are you thinking of Brantly?
May 29, 201313 yr Author I meant that Brantly will be a top 5 catcher offensively in the NL not Rabelo.
May 29, 201313 yr Donovan Solano's parents don't even deserve credit for finding him, he's just not that good.
May 29, 201313 yr No one knew Miggy was gonna be great? The Tigers did. They locked him up as soon as they got him. I'll give you Hanley. It was time for him to go.
May 29, 201313 yr I smell a troll guys (Or Donovan Solano...is that you Solano??).... That dude is definitely trolling. Hopefully someone puts an end to it.
May 29, 201313 yr And Ruggiano is only good defensively. He's not a good hitter, honestly. That's a bit harsh. He's a good hitter against lefties(or is righties?). So I wouldn't say he's just not a good hitter. He's limited.
May 29, 201313 yr I smell a troll guys (Or Donovan Solano...is that you Solano??).... That dude is definitely trolling. Hopefully someone puts an end to it. the way I see it: at this point we're all trolling and he's the only real Marlins fan here
May 29, 201313 yr And Ruggiano is only good defensively. He's not a good hitter, honestly. That's a bit harsh. He's a good hitter against lefties(or is righties?). So I wouldn't say he's just not a good hitter. He's limited. He has the 16th best OPS among CFers in MLB. That puts him at square in the average to slightly below average category. Defensively, he's been top 5 on the year. If our lineup wasn't full of slap hitters (there's less so now with Ozuna/Dietrich in the lineup) he would be just fine in CF full time. Also of note is how he's doing significantly better away from marlins park.
May 29, 201313 yr The lingering debate of this 2013 season seems to be on whether or not Ruggiano is a good player.
May 29, 201313 yr The lingering debate of this 2013 season seems to be on whether or not Ruggiano is a good player. We could discuss Coghlan's (my favorite player from the beginning. never a doubt in his abilities.) 1.032 OPS in May! Move Dietrich to 3b already and let Cogs play 2b.
May 29, 201313 yr Ok, let's try some optimism. Tonight the Marlins have a chance at being the first to reach 40 loses. We are winning the race with the Astros for the bottom. See, i used optimistic words such as "first" and "winning." Is that better?
