Posted June 2, 201311 yr Stanton for Profar and Olt. Throw in Ruggiano, Polanco, Pierre, Dobbs - any and all. Ozuna makes Stanton and his prima donna attitude redundant. That gives us Morrison, Profar, Hech, Olt around the horn and Ozuna, Yelich, Coghlan, Jake M, Issac in the outfield Brantley and Mathis. Subs and PHs from Lucas, Solano, Brown, Kotchman, Valakia, Diaz Ready to rock and grow into a contender. Stanton just clogs things up and puts Ozuna in the wrong position. He has bad wheels anyway.

Wait Stanton has an attitude? Also, Olt a solid .547 OPS in AAA this year
June 2, 201311 yr Author Olt had vision problems, now fixed. He is a solid 3b prospect. Stanton thinks he is a star and too good for the Marlins. Send him away before his injuries lessen his value.
June 2, 201311 yr Stanton thinks he is a star and too good for the Marlins. I don't understand how you've arrived at this conclusion. Care to elaborate?
June 2, 201311 yr I dont disagree with this. Im fine with trading him if we can get several great prospects for him. Love stanton but he cant stay healthy and if we can get a bunch of guys like say Profar, Olt, and another prospect lets do it. I think our outfield is looking pretty great already in the future. Fill some holes like SS, 3b, maybe 1b and of course get more pitching.
June 2, 201311 yr Stanton is a beefcake so I just don't understand how he is always hurt. And it's always something different so there's a chance he just doesn't want to play. He is a monster but if he doesn't want to be here then bye bye monster. Send him to the AL though because he will terrorize us when he decides to stop goi g on the DL.
June 2, 201311 yr Stanton is worse than Hanley! How dare he voice displeasure over his teammates and friends being traded. He clearly got hurt on purpose to avoid playing for the team. Ozuna and his 130 MLB ABs are clearly the future.
June 2, 201311 yr Do not want Olt. This. I used to want him when he was a 22 year old tearing up the minor leagues, but now he's a 24 year old with vision problems stuck in the minor leagues. I still think Olt probably turns into a good 3B, but there has become a little too much risk behind him as a prospect. And I was behind trading Stanton in the offseason. Now that he's hurt and Texas' prospects aren't performing exactly as expected, now is DEFINITELY not the time to trade Stanton. At the earliest he'll be traded this upcoming offseason. More likely he'll be held on to until at least July 2014.
June 2, 201311 yr I agree with Dim. If you want to trade Stanton now isn't the time. The options aren't very good. They could just extend him.
June 2, 201311 yr This is dumb. Wouldn't you rather see what Stanton looks like in a lineup with Ozuna, Dietrich, Yelich, and LoMo?I know I do. There is no rush to trade him now. See what you have with a healthy team first. If it's as good as it has the potential to be, who's to say Stanton doesn't decide he wants to stick around? And if he doesn't, they can still get a ton for him this offseason.
June 2, 201311 yr I don't think the lineup that surrounds him is what is going to make Stanton hit. I think it's the organization that surrounds him. Trade Beinfest, Hill, and Loria. Give them Samson too! Their attitude... it's just... ugh. And I've never seen them get a hit before.
June 2, 201311 yr Author And what prima donna attitude? Seriously, WTF? Didn't anyone watch him play right field this year? Could not have cared less.

June 3, 201311 yr I agree with one thing...the longer Stanton spends on the DL, the lower his value. This is the second season in a row that he is hurt. What good is a monster who stays hurt 2 months out of the season, and spends another 2 months striking out before he heats up and tears things up for a single month before crashing down to Earth again? If he repeats this for a 3rd time next season, his trading value will then be pretty much shot to pieces. As much as I love Stanton, he is pretty much useless for 4-5 months out of the 6 month season because of injuries and cold streaks where he does nothing but strike out every time.
June 3, 201311 yr And what prima donna attitude? Seriously, WTF? Didn't anyone watch him play right field this year? Could not have cared less. Didn't get that sense whatsoever.
June 3, 201311 yr a) His value is at its lowest right now. b) How does Ozuna make Stanton "redundant?" 1b) Ozuna has been nice, but he's not as good as Stanton. 2b) We currently have Juan Pierre in LF. Ozuna can just move over when the big guy comes back. c) Mike Olt is looking a whole lot like a bust. If Mike Olt was in the big leagues right now, we'd be saying he sucks. The guy is basically not an interesting prospect at this point. d) If they trade Stanton, I'm actually now hoping it's to St. Louis instead of Texas. e) They don't have to trade Stanton. You seem a bit overexcited about prospects (who's Issac? Galloway? Lol).
June 3, 201311 yr Might as well trade him. I mean...gotta keep Uggla the HR leader as a Marlin for a bit longer laugh out loud.
