He may not be a .950 OPS hitter again but he sure as hell isn't a .750 OPS hitter. What other numbers? All his numbers f***ing suck in comparison to what he was and was to maintain. It took this board long enough to realize he isn't going to turn it around anytime soon. Advanced numbers. Average and below average numbers, but keep the ignorance and sail off into the sunset on that boat of denial you're on. Maybe we can trade you with Hanley? Quit living in the past and move on. Point to me the average and below average advanced stats of his. Almost all of his numbers are on the decline not starting from most important but simply looking at his basic stats would say he's not getting better and he's still declining, and if not declining leveling off as an average player. He's on pace to hit 22 home runs and although he has bulked up it hasn't really shown as far as power numbers go, but that wouldn't even matter if he was hitting for average and getting on base. He's on pace for a few more RBI's than 2010. His SB's are down. His walk rate is way down, his K rate is as high as it's been since his rookie season. His BABIP is as low as it's ever been. His batting average is almost as low as his injury filled season last year. *His OBP this year is the lowest it's been in his career* (So we can conclude that his lack of walks is not because he is getting on base because of hits or balls put in play) His slugging percentage is the 2nd lowest it's been since his injury filled season last year. f*** it, basically we can conclude he is still declining in a lot of areas and leveling out in just a few others. So give him 2013 as his last chance you want a long term contract prove to everyone you are now fully healthy and able to produce like 2009 or July 2013 he's gone. There is no reason to let him walk though, of all people at least get something back.

Rival executives who have spoken with Marlins people believe they've never been more open to the idea of trading Hanley. Also One person familiar with the Marlins thinking says that he thinks the club will hang onto starter Josh Johnson now that it's traded Sanchez. I've never been a fan of trading Josh Johnson, we don't need to gut the entire team right now. Excuse me for assuming he will get better in time but I really think he will.

Yeah, that came out of left field. I thought Ichiro would be a Mariner for life. The guy did so much for that franchise. and yet they did so little for him, I hope the Yankees win the world series this year I really do. Of all people in the MLB he deserves a championship

Coming into tonight: Since coming back in June, Dunn has done the following: 14.2 IP 7 H 2 R 8 K 8 BB (3 were intentional) I'll take 5 more "awful" pitchers like that. and in the bigger sample size of the past 2 years? He's been hit and miss a slight above average WAR is pretty accurate to be honest.

I refuse to get too high on any prospect but this guy has pretty decent numbers in Triple A sure there not fantastic but give him some time and who knows. We may have just actually won a trade but it will depend on what happens with the other two guys. All in all it's a good move because were already starting to look to the future. Anibal needed to be traded and was and now we can start putting guys in the positions they belong. I would also like to take this time to thank Omar Infante for his service with the Marlins; he was always played the game right and he was nice to have around even for a short time. Carlos Lee is next.

Holy Jesus! I was working with the Hagerstown Suns tonight writing my own recap when I came back to find a multitude of happenings in baseball, is it really time to start watching the Yankees? I think so. :|

I think if the FO had done anything before this point it would be considered knee jerk, but now that were here I think it's probably safe to say things are not going to turn around for him. I mean I hope I'm wrong but nothing is changing and his numbers are still declining. The 2006 season was very special, I will never forget! Oh yea and 1997 and 2003 were nice too!

I'm in agreement with waiting it out with Reyes but just so you get an understanding of what other people feel like. We waited it out with Hanley and nothing is coming from it, whether this is a product of poor coaching or just not enough care to fix things is unknown but no one on this board should find it odd that people are calling for FO heads to roll. The only reason I don't want the current ownership to 100% go is because they actually got us a stadium and brought in free agents. Someone also said this earlier but the days of Cantu, Jacobs, Uggla and Hanley hitting bombs was a lot better than what has become of the Marlins now, sadly this is probably just the beginning. Just the beginning of what? What would you see happening? This is the beginning of a lot of bad years ahead of us, at least thats what I see at this point. Oh well you have to start somewhere, keep farming the farm. I don't expect this team to underperform for more than this year. Baseball's weird. We suck with RISP this year, maybe next year we'll have the best average with it. i want the following people traded by the deadline: Nolasco Anibal Choate Dobbs Kearns Reyes or Hanley Ok no reason to trade Reyes and dobbs. Should also offer anibal a contract first. I know Reyes has struggled but we need him. And I want major league talent for Hanley. Its not about whether we needy him. Its about money ball, getting the most production you can out of every dollar you spend, and we are blowing a lot of money for mediocre production. If we can get someone for dobbs or kearns no reason not to trade them. Reyes is have one Bad year!!! My god im about to flip. People want to talk about the FO and us getting FA. Hows it going to look to free agents when you sign a guy for 6 years just to trade him when hes having one bad year. Teams in years past have at least been entertaining, it's gotten to the point where I don't even care.
