If we do keep JJ (and I hope we do) I just pray he continues to improve and stay healthy. He hasn't been ace material, but I think a full and healthy season is an accomplishment.

Yeah, get rid of JJ while he still holds value. Another injury or a poor start to the season and his value will fall through the floor.

I hate being the farm system for rest of the league. JJ to the Angels, that's great for the Angels but it's just the Marlins continuing to spin their wheels as a franchise. That's if JJ gets traded somewhere. I don't see why the Marlins even draft or trade for prospects, they have them play here for a while and don't win and then send them to some other team. But anyway, nice win, JJ was good. The offense was the same. So I don't see this being the start of a come back for the team or anything. But a win is a win is a win.

For what it's worth, Beinfest had that press conference, talked about the lineup, and basically mentioned every name except Hanley's. He mentioned Reyes, Bonifacio, Morrison, and I believe Stanton.

If the marlins know what is good for them, I.e. ticket sales, they better expect to compete. Going all in one year and then doing nothing will not be very good.

He basically mentioned the core of the team and didn't say Hanley's name.
