  1. Well, you can't count on a couple sports writers to pick who's best. Dusty Baker brought home Manager of the Year in this years TYIB awards. McKeon may have one the big award, but Baker got the votes from the fans, edging out all managers in both leagues. And your buddy Beckett? D-Train. Walloped by this years TYIB award winner for best pitcher, Mark Prior, the best young pitcher in baseball. Just giving you a hard time. I mean, feel free to come back, but can we keep the personal insults down for a change?
  2. Hmm, you guys are looking pretty good.
  3. Sheesh, the main point of this topic was Luis. LaTroy was bonus. You guys just look for reasons to get pissed.
  4. Whats Borders? WHATS BORDERS?!?!?!
  5. Okay, so Luis did not take the CUbs offer and is staying with the fish, you were right. But Im still in a good mood. Cubs sign reliever LaRoy Hawkins to a 3 year deal worth 11 million bucks. Man my Cubbies are looking meaner and meaner. I just can't wait to see Pudge behind the plate catching our new found reliever.
  6. They might give a few people a hard time, might post a decent record, but I don't see them returning to what they did this year. But then again, n one would have guessed the Marlins or the Cubs would have done what they did.
  7. The best site is Windy City Sports. www.windycitysports.net we have forums for most chicago teams...just duck into the Cubs forum. We're quite slow lately, because we're upgrading to a new site and new forums, much like marlinsbaseball.com .
  8. Hey Dolfinfan, one of the members on Windy City Sports posted it. It is also mentioned on the homepage of this site.
  9. Spivey isn't bad at all.
  10. Okay, just wonderin'. I don't see what would be so appealing about the Mets orginization over the Cubs though. Just as cold, the second New York team, losing record... vs Cold in the begining for a few week,s and at the end for a few weeks (even at that point, it aint bad), winning, franchise headed in good direction. Not that weather should matter.
  11. We may not have won a World Series in a long time, but that wasn't because of any bulls*** curse. The Cubs are out making deals. They allready look to have onen of the most solid clubs in the National league, and Castillo would only add to the fun. Where did he say it was between the marlins and mets?
  12. Cubs wont get him. Why? Lol, I hope they do though. They would be quite an amazing club next year...well, they are allready looking pretty darn good...
  13. Nice Icon. I love that skit. Even David Spade starts cracking up in it. Classic.
  14. Okay, I'm back. I trust you all had a pleasant Thanksgiving. Anyways, Cubs GM has offered Luis Castillo 15 million for three years. If he takes it, here is what the Cubs lineup might look like: 1. Castillo 2. Patterson 3. Sosa 4. Lee 5. Alou 6. Ramirez 7. Gonzalez 8. Miller/Bako 9. Pitcher Yeah, just posted this cuz I noticed you were discussing Castillo's decision.
  15. Who cares about strikeouts if they're productive I've never heard of a productive strikeout. Sammy Sosa stuck out once every 3.62 AB's this year That statement goes against your cause. Sammy Sosa always striekouts when you need him.
  16. Oh and do us a favor, and don't call him D-Lee. We came up with that I didn't. Hey, I just didn't think you guys would want to call him something my boy Dusty came up with. :cool
  17. Oh and do us a favor, don't call him Big Choi cuz Dusty came up with it.
  18. Yep...that is life. And it's damn fun to debate.
  19. Choi just looked silly. Amen to that. Beinfest is such a great GM... Hendry is such a great GM...
  20. Wait to you see Choi...oh wait, he probably won't even be the starter. :lol
  21. That's waaaay too mank K's for winter ball.
  22. Man, they don't know what they're talking about. Trust me.
  23. lol Not pressure, but excitement. It's unrivaled.
  24. WOoo! I didn't get yelled at for once. Hoosiers? GO ILLINI!!!!!!!!! Oh boy...
  25. I think playing in Wrigley is kind of captivating for a player too. It's not like US Cellular field, where they draw 20,000 in the middle of a pennant race. It's packed all year. True fans. And if the CUbs are in it, which odds are, they will be, I'm sure Lee will get caught up in it, and his play will be affected. Just like Aramis Ramirez got so much better after coming to the Cubs.
