May Seventh Post Game Thread
Great start. I'll be going to the next three games so if they lose the series I'm going to ban myself. Seeing as I mostly lurk I guess it won't be a huge loss.

Hamilton to Angels
Think they try to move someone like Bourjos to fill in some other needs? Maybe even Trumbo given he doesn't really fit anywhere defensively and had a terrible second half of the season.

James Shields traded
Oh, only an occasional all-star? Royals win. That's his high-end projection, which he could very well reach, but few prospects really reach what their best case scenario is projected to be. Nice conclusion though.

James Shields traded
Myers isn't necessarily a can't miss prospect, he's more projected to be an occasional All-Star type of player I think. The Royals have enough depth in their system so they can take a chance like this to trade away future pieces for a proven major league talent like Shields. The Odorizzi for Wade part of the deal is what doesn't make much sense to me, but still the Royals are putting themselves in a position to be darkhorses in the Central, especially if guys like Hosmer and Moose step up from their less than stellar seasons last year. They may not have gotten a number one, but that rotation desperately needed help and this was the best way they can do it if they weren't going to spend 80-90 million on someone like Anibal in free agency.

Marlins updated top 20 prospects
Where's Hech on that list? There was a separate part labeled "Factors on the Farm (Prospects likely to contribute at ML level in 2013)" Hech is ranked third on that list behind Grant Dayton and Zack Cox. 1. LHP Grant Dayton: A lefty reliever with two plus pitches (92-94 mph FB; hard slider) and good feel for execution , Dayton might only have 13 Double-A innings under his belt, but he’s a good bet to contribute to the Marlins in 2013. 2. 3B Zack Cox: Remember this guy? It was only a year ago that Cox was a highly thought of prospect in the Cardinals system, ranked ahead of blue-chippers like Kolten Wong, Tyrell Jenkins, and Trevor Rosenthal (by some publications). After a dreadful 2012 season that saw him struggle at two levels and get traded to the Marlins for relieverEdward Mujica, Cox will look to regain his first-round form, and hope to challenge for playing time at the major-league level. 3. SS Adeiny Hechavarria: You won’t find many shortstops that can match Hechavarria’s wizardry with the glove, but with big holes that exist in his game exist in his bat, and they threaten to limit his overall potential. Because of his plus-plus profile at a premium position, the 23-year-old Cuban doesn’t have to win batting title to stay in the lineup, but he does have to tighten his approach and make enough contact to avoid being labeled an empty wizard.

Marlins updated top 20 prospects
For comparison's sake, Jason Parks at Baseball Prospectus just ranked our top ten as: 1. Jose Fernandez 2. Christian Yelich 3. Jake Marisnick 4. Justin Nicolino 5. Andrew Heaney 6. Rob Brantly 7. Austin Brice 8. Avery Romer 9. Jacob Realmuto 10. Marcel Ozuna

Johnson, Buehrle, Reyes, Buck, Bonifacio to Toronto
they probably won't keep Escobar after 2013, Hechavarria is the SS prospect coming back. And its very questionable whether or not he'll be able to hit on the major league level

Johnson, Buehrle, Reyes, Buck, Bonifacio to Toronto
The prospects we got back are really good. Granted we've all heard that before with Maybin, Miller etc. No they aren't lol Nicolino seems solid, but yeah nothing earth shattering. Hey, I'll gladly take prospects from the 3rd ranked farm system in MLB. Whether it works out or not is a completely different thing. That 3rd ranked farm system managed to protect their top 4-5 prospects, depending on who you ask.

Johnson, Buehrle, Reyes, Buck, Bonifacio to Toronto
Ken Rosenthal just tweeted that Nolasco can be on the move too.

Johnson, Buehrle, Reyes, Buck, Bonifacio to Toronto
At this point can we even be bothered to believe Stanton will be offered any money? The organization fights for a new stadium, gets it, puts up an attempt to have a winner for half a season then dumps everyone.
