Haven't seen anything official yet.

EDIT: Nevermind.

Trade: #Rays send Shields, Davis and a player to be named or cash to #Royals for Myers, Odorizzi, Montogmery, Leonard

Rays made away like bandits in this deal. Horrific deal on Royals side.

Rays trade one of their stars and no negative publicity..... ;)

It'll be two after David Price. :)

Really though, that's a nice return for the Rays.

The Royals might be a contender next year.

Why didn't we offer up Nolasco??? UGH, I hate this team.

Are you serious? Shields is everything that Nolasco could have been, not what he actually is. Shields has had one bad year, but other than that has been pretty darn good.

I'm a little surprised Davis was included, because I thought part of the plus side to trading Shields was that Davis could slide back into the 5th starter spot. I guess they believe in Alex Cobb or they have another super prospect waiting.

You must have missed the part of the deal that says they got Odorizzi in return.

They still have a shitload of pitching depth, really.

Good for KC too though because they get two starters and they really don't have a bad team with some better SP. Their lineup is alright and their bullpen is rather elite.

Edit: Also, he was definitely not serious.

Odorizzi is pretty good.

Montgomery was a highly-rated prospect but '12 didn't go well for him for whatever reason.

The Blue Jays and Red Sox are spending a shitload of money, the Yankees have a huge payroll, the Orioles won 93 games and the Rays just traded an ace and one of their best relievers for prospects.

Gonna be funny when the Rays win the division next year. The Rays could trade David Price and I'd still pick them to win the division next year.

Pretty funny how Andrew Friedman has been trolling baseball for years.

The Rays are so deep that they could trade Price, still have 5 big-league ready starters and make their offense better. They are so much more intelligent than other organizations.

I'm not as educated on the prospects in the league right now as I have been in years past. Maybe it's just I'm getting to the age where top prospects I can remember breaking through are all retiring? I don't know.

Good job by the Rays. Myers is going to be special

This. Very rash move by the Royals. Should've just held onto their prospects.

Odorizzi was ranked the 30th best prospect in baseball before this season, Myers 3rd.

Yeah...that's more than the Marlins got for Johnson/Reyes/Buerhle

The Marlins also had to trade away Johnson/Reyes/Buerhle. Every team not named the Dodgers has minimal desire in acquiring that much payroll in a single trade.
