NCAA Basketball Pre-Season All-Americans
How about UNC attempting about 25 more foul shots. Augustine fouling out in the first 4 minutes of the game. How does a team playing zone have over twice as many fouls as a team playing man to man? And, UNC did not have a more talented squad. I hate U of I, but they were more talented than UNC. More biased officiating. stfu you dont get calls when you refuse to attack inside and shoot 40 threes. and how could they be more talented? the Heels had the No. 2 pick in the draft....coming off the bench. not to mention a dominant force inside, which the Illini did not have, and 2 lottery picks in the backcourt Don't act like Illinois didn't have any talent. Williams was a top 5 pick, Head was a 1st rounder, and when Dee comes out after this year he will probably be a 1st round pick. The Illini had probably one of the greatest backcourts in NCAA history, but they had nobody to guard a big guy like May inside. oh of course the Illini was loaded, i can see that. that was a sick backcourt. however, the Heels had a great big man and more talent than Illinois

Orange Bowl game
Ok I just read an article on how these bowls will be picked. 3 conferences have ties to bowls this year: ACC to Orange, Big 12 to Fiesta and Sec to Sugar. Then if any of those conference winners get picked, that bowl gets first pick. The orange bowl has the second at large pick this year no matter what. So say its Texas vs USC in the rose, then the fiesta gets first pick which will likely be either ND, Ohio State or Penn State. However they will also end up with West Virginia because they get last pick after that. In the SEC three teams could either win the SEC or be an at large, so that should be cleared up in the next weeks. The article said that the OB would try and get a Miam ND match up if possible, but if FSU wins the ACC championship they would want an FSU Penn State match up. Paterno vs. Bowden...the AARP battle awesome

Last Call
He does some good interviews but his monologue is awful. Getting a permanent studio in LA will certainly help the show But I barely catch him, the only reason i ever stay up until 1:30 is to cram for a test the next day

Orange Bowl game
holy s*** i didnt know they were already on sell....if thats the game id really wanna go. my 2 top schools right there. it would be a bit tough for me root against miami for the 1st time. id do ALMOST anything to go. thats my dream game...my 2 top teams in the orange bowl. You do understand if ND plays miami in the Orange bowl they will get totally and completely destroyed right? That isnt even close to fair for a game! :thumbup You're joking/being a blind homer, right? Miami record vs ND in the Orange bowl is 7-0 Miami's record at home is amazingly good. Trust me the Irish will find a way not to face Miami down here. They will want to go to a bowl and win it for the $$$$$$$$$$ But, I think it would be an amazing game if they did. Either way I have my tickets for the orange bowl. If it is my gift to my father for christmas always :thumbup yeah, that 7-0 record would be a HUGE factor in this years game

Orange Bowl game
For those of you who are planning to go to the Orange Bowl I would advise you to get your tickets soon since its about to sell out. The projections have it being Miami vs ND which tickets will be going for alot of $ if that is the case. Thank god I'm a member of the Hurricane Club I'll prob go to another bowl in Florida (either Champs Sports, Capital One aka Citrus, or Outback) plus the Orange Bowl

Theo staying Boston... or not
Theo saw when Steve Finley was traded to LA in 04 that former starter Dave Roberts was out of luck, and he went and got Dave Roberts on the cheap. Roberts stole a base in the 2004 ALCS Game 4 that saved the series for Boston and propelled them to the 04 world series. In my opinion, that was the greatest play in Red Sox history. Above Carlton Fisk's shot in the 75 world series? dont think so but i agree with your post. Theo made so many moves (Roberts included) that propelled the Sawx to the title

NCAA Basketball is Upon Us
bump it up...time to talk about the champs The Heels had a great recruiting year, especially signing PF Tyler Hansbrough. I have no doubt that (unless theres another mass exodus) they'll be loaded for 07, but 06 will be a challenge for Roy. If PG Quentin Thomas, who lost the only game he started vs. Santa Clara and had more turnovers than minutes played in the Final Four, can lead the offense efficiently, this will be a good starting five. The biggest problems with these guys is that they're either too young or have not played in pressure situations before, and that they arent deep enough. I think Roy will take this group with tons of raw talent to the middle of the pack of the ACC. But the Heels are still as good as the last game they played, and for a few more weeks, theyre still the Champs

I'm jealous of the Angels...
::sigh:: If only the Marlins had an owner like him Not that I'm saying Loria is bad or anything, just wish he had more money to spend on the team like Arte does. Arte Moreno is also extremely wealthy... plus I think their attendance was over 4 million this year... There is the main key to being able to spend more money. In all fairness to the Angels organization, their attendance wasn't very good even in the year they won the World Series. Arte has invested a significant amount of money on this team, both in players signed (such as Vlad) and in their marketing (both locally and regionally... shoot, even internationally, since Arte is Mexican). A lot of people made fun of their name change to the Los Angeles Angles of Anaheim, but that did two things. First, it made the Angels compete with the Dodgers for regional supremacy, even if only in name. Second, it had a bunch of us talking about the Angels for quite a while... can anyone say free publicity? You combine those two things with a great product on the field and... bam, over 4 million in attendance. You have to invest a significant amount to reap financial success. Penny pinching isn't going to do it. Arte's got the money and he's using it wisely. Arte is a business genius. :thumbup Since that name change worked so well... Your 2006 Miami Marlins

Antonio Alfonseca Once Again Leads Major-League Relievers In Fingers
Antonio Alfonseca Once Again Leads Major-League Relievers In Fingers October 6, 2005 | Issue 41?40 MIAMI?Florida Marlins pitcher Antonio Alfonseca dominated the MLB in appendages for the ninth straight year, finishing the 2005 season with a league-leading 12 fingers. Alfonseca, who made his debut with the Marlins in 1997 and wasted no time making this particular statistical category his own, led the NL for almost the entire season, only falling into a close second during an unusual two-week period in mid-August. Alfonseca's performance will trigger a $1 million bonus, as the Marlins signed him to an incentive-laden, oft-criticized, finger-enumeration-based contract. "Antonio has been through a lot this season, including some elbow problems and a trip to the DL," manager Jack McKeon said. "But in the end, he just went out there and had a lot of fingers." There was once again a tie for second place behind Alfonseca, with 214 pitchers amassing 10 fingers each, followed by Bob Wickman, who finished last with 9.7. http://www.theonion.com/content/node/41417 The Marlins have made it into the Onion. I dont know why but I laughed out loud when i read that about Wickman

A Rod's contract
I think Boras gets like a 3% cut of everything. the standard for an agent is 10% yeah, i read that he got a 10% cut, so he makes over 2.5 million off this deal every year

If the Marlins were sold
