April 17, 200422 yr AGon and Conine need to sit 1-Pierre 2-Castillo 3-Cabrera 4-Lowell 5-Choi 6-Nunez 7-Castro 8-Easley 9-Beckett
April 17, 200422 yr I would agree with giving Nunez another shot. Putting Nunez in LF is no drop off in defense. Gonzo played very well, and was hitting the ball hard. We are going to need his defense tomorrow since it will likely be a pitching duel.
April 17, 200422 yr Agon got caught by a good pitch, other than that he did alright he had anice double...MY GOD what do you people expect!! He isn;t going to go 4 for 4 every game we have him in ther for his glove! I guess we should Bench Pierre while we are at it huh?
April 17, 200422 yr Author Man, I don't know what you are watching. AGon is one of the worst hitters in the majors that start. I mean everytime he comes up, he's the only Marlin you think is an automatic out.
April 17, 200422 yr Author It wouldn't surprise me to see Cabrera moved back to SS later this season.
April 17, 200422 yr Man, I don't know what you are watching. AGon is one of the worst hitters in the majors that start. I mean everytime he comes up, he's the only Marlin you think is an automatic out. You are not paying attention. While Gonzo started out slow, he has had several decent games lately. His defense has been spectacular, and his BA is on the rise. For the year, Gonzalez has 7 hits....just as many as Choi....admittedly no HRs though. He was 1 for 4 tonight....with one ball a line drive ...that is not what I would call automatic. He has been hitting the ball hard all week. He has scored 4 runs in 10 games. Compare that to Conine who is leading the team in Ks, and has not hit the ball hard in a week. It lappears to me that niner needs to see an optomistrist because he is missing badly right now.
April 17, 200422 yr It wouldn't surprise me to see Cabrera moved back to SS later this season. haha. sea bass is not that bad. he has been hitting the ball well. with sea bass you want anything around .250 and you live with it. his defense more than makes up for his offensive liabilities. and you people are still too much in love with nunez.
April 17, 200422 yr It wouldn't surprise me to see Cabrera moved back to SS later this season. Wow. That winning streak either really spoiled people, or it hid how many bandwagoners we have. No chance Cabs plays SS, none at all. There is no one we have or could get that would upgrade our offense enough to sit A-GON. We're a team about pitching and defense, when he starts making errors left and right we can complain.
April 17, 200422 yr It wouldn't surprise me to see Cabrera moved back to SS later this season. Cabrera has outgrown SS. You won't see him there at all. Easley and Valdez have better chances of anyone...but Gonzo would have to have a severe drought for that to happen.

Easley and Valdez have better chances of anyone...but Gonzo would have to have a severe drought for that to happen. Cabs (6'2", 210) has pretty much the same proportions as Jeter (6'3", 195) and A-Rod (6'3", 210)- what precisely makes you think he's "outgrown" the position?
April 17, 200422 yr ok. i'll admit it. if sea bass is hitting .180 june 1...cabs could play short. there i said it.
April 17, 200422 yr Author The Cabrera idea is a stretch but I seriously think Wilson Valdez is the future at the position. That guy looks impressive. You're right, I'm spoiled and most Marlin fans are. However, mark this down, I think AGon will hit under .200 into May.

Have you noticed that Cabs legs are quickly turning into tree trunks? This guy is built for power, so quickness is going to drop off a bit.
April 17, 200422 yr Sometime in the next two weeks, Alex Gonzalez will catch FIRE. Mark it down. Hopefully. ~Admin
April 17, 200422 yr You're right, I'm spoiled and most Marlin fans are. we are? i dont consider myself spoiled as a marlin fan. i am spoiled as a spur fan. the marlins have had 2 damn winning years out of 10. granted we won the series both of those years. but i have suffered far more with this team than i have been 'spoiled'
April 17, 200422 yr AGon isn't getting benched any time soon. However, Give OMGNunez a start tomorrow.
April 17, 200422 yr Sometime in the next two weeks, Alex Gonzalez will catch FIRE. Mark it down. Around the time we hit San Francisco. That is his pattern.
April 17, 200422 yr AGon and Conine need to sit 1-Pierre 2-Castillo 3-Cabrera 4-Lowell 5-Choi 6-Nunez 7-Castro 8-Easley 9-Beckett I agree on Nunez being in the line up for Conine but I will still keep Gonzo in it.
April 17, 200422 yr I don't want Nu?ez starting on Saturday, I want him to start on Sunday when the ball travels better in Atlanta and Conine would feel worse.
April 17, 200422 yr I think you just got to let Conine ride it out. He's got plenty of experience and I'm sure this is not the first time he goes through such a slump. Only thing I would consider doing is moving Conine out of the 5th hole and dropping him a spot or two in the lineup even though that might distrupt Choi but all depends how Choi feels when he goes up to the plate and if he can take the added pressure that usually comes with the 5th hole.
April 17, 200422 yr My Predicted lineup for tomorrow 1.Easly + Nunez from both sides of the plate ( i mean come on DooDz all offense we can get right?) 2. Castillo with a Corked bat for more powah (Weak D00dz dont belong in lineup) 3.Cabrera + 1 bat in each hand (Throw two balls at him at the same time...more efficient) 4.Lowell with Hover shoes so he can StealZ more Bases (Guy is mad pimp at running) 5.Cabrera Clone #1 6.Cabrera Clone #2 7.Cabrera Clone #3 8.Cabrera Clone #4 9. Pinch hit everytime with our batzboys....Deplete our Bullpen...So all armz can be used Everyone Else Benched cause they suxxorz...cannot go 4-4...cant hit a homerun, cant hit more than 10 hits...and suxxors!!!!!!! I rul.. ~Le0
April 17, 200422 yr I would bench Castro again for Redmond. Red is hot and has the gun back working like it was during the days of the belly-flop.
