Yahoo! Game Preview: http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/preview?gid=240422122

Mike Lowell goes for an encore performance as the Florida Marlins look to continue their mastery of the Philadelphia Phillies when the teams meet at Citizens Bank Park for the finale of a three-game series.

The Marlins come in with wins in eight straight and 17 of their last 19 against the Phillies, who they edged for last season's NL wildcard. Lowell was the latest hero for Florida against Philadelphia on Wednesday, when he hit three home runs to help the Marlins to an 8-7, 12-inning victory.

With his performance on Wednesday, Lowell became the first player in Marlins franchise history to hit three homers in a game. His third longball was a ninth-inning, game-tying shot off Phillies closer Billy Wagner, who blew his first save with the Phillies.

``I didn't get caught up in the at-bats because we were trying to come back,'' said Lowell, who recorded the first three-homer game in the majors this season. ``It was a career day. I did it in tee ball and once in college (at Florida International) my sophomore year.''

Thursday's game concludes a nine-game, 10-day road trip for the Marlins, whose 10-4 start equals the best start ever for Florida after 14 games. The World Series champion 1997 Marlins also started 10-4.

``They find a way to win. That's why they won the World Series,'' Phillies manager Admin Bowa said.

With their loss on Wednesday, the Phillies have now squandered the momentum they had generated by winning four straight games coming into this series. Philadelphia has seen 11 of its 13 games this season decided by two runs or less.
