I am sorry to say this but this guy has really dissapointed me. I mean c'mon what is his career record 18-18. I really hope this guy gets it going because he has alot of talent.

I am starting to think though that he is overated. this guy first two starts are awesome......now look at his two last starts.......exactly.

I wouldn't mind if we traded him away.

but would like something really good in return.

this guy is just pissing me off.

i know alot of people think that i am crazy and are gonna say he is just warming up or give him some time or some sh** like that.

that commercial is so bull.

the one that he is the next nolan ryan or roger clemens. yeh and I am gonna freakin find 10 million bucks in the street lyin around somewhere.

This should be in the humor zone because you must be joking.

His career record proves nothing. He never gets run support.

You are entitled to your opinion but a team does not trade a kid with this much talent which was proven in the playoffs last season. Plus the fact his K to IP ratio is thru the roof.

The idea is insane.

what i find hard tO believe is he can kiLl the yankEes((yuckEe)) and nOt aFfect the atlanta braves!but i dOn't think we shOuld trade him.his a valueable player.but its jOsh sO hOpefuLly we'Ll sEe sOme Of that wOrld series magic sOon!

you have to be f***ing kidding me

Certainly doesn't take much to get you upset. How long was the grace period after winning the World Series MVP? One bad game?

This is so ridiculous, I'm not even sure how to respond. Maybe he isn't going to be the next Roger Clemens, but, tell me again why that means we should trade him?

He's got too much talent and he's still learning to pitch as little. After a night like tonight it's frustrating, it must really be for Josh. You're going to extremes though.

fishfan25...when you find that $10 million, you're putting it towards the new ballpark...right? :thumbup

Josh has talent guys. I think the deal thus far into the season is he's not in a mental rythym. We shall see him in Championship form soon enough. GO MARLINS! :cool

:banghead

this has to fall as the STUPIDEST POST EVER!!!!!!

every pitcher has bad outings

sometimes even two or three in a row, and sometimes even more than that

plus his last outing was all that bad. he had 6 innings giving up only 2 runs. he was obviously tired in the 7th and probably shouldnt have went out there for that inning.

Pedro/Schilling/Clemens/CY Young/Bob Gibson. You name them. They have ALL had strings of bad outings

for christs sake, the kid is 23 years old and is .500 in his career starts

look at the career records of some of the best pitchers ever. many of them were a lot worse than .500 for the first few years of their careers and then went on to become Hall of Fame pitchers

a few that come to mind

Sandy Koufax

Nolan Ryan

Tom Seaver

It was obvious today that Beckett didnt have any sort of control. His curveball was non-existant and he wasnt placing his fastball with his top accuracy. There will be days like this that doesnt mean he sucks or that he is over rated.

If he won today, you would be on his jock. The Marlins aren't going to go 150-12, they're not going to go 162-0; as I see it, the Marlins are a 90-95 win team, which means they're going to lose 70+ games; don't get too excited about the wins, and don't get too depressed over the losses...yet.

And about the whole "career record" thing, Burnett is a career 30-32, and last year his ERA was almost 5; and we're hanging our hopes on him. I'm not worried about Beckett, and I'm sad to see that he lost, but he lost two games to the same team, which tells me that he's going to have to make some adjustments, the Braves just have his number right now...

Nolan Ryan was 30-38 at the age of 24.

I'm not saying Beckett's the next Nolan Ryan, but let's not panic.

And frankly Im sick of this Miguel Cabrera kid too. Lets ship him off with Dontrelle "opponents batting average of .188" Willis. And seriously, Mike Lowell...what have you done for me lately? I hate that this team isnt 14-0!

sheesh...thanks for the laughs.

Im not even a full fledged marlins fan and I think thats the dumbest idea Ive ever heard. This kid is unreal man. he delivers when the games on the line, as Lurry stated, his K to IP ratio is ungodly, And say what you want about the Braves, but that team didnt throw together 12 straight division crowns on sheer luck. They may have lost a few key players but this is still a very good team. They hit the ball well and Ortiz has been on the absolute top of his game each of Becks last 2 start, which translated to zero run support. . Everyone has a few bad outings dood. Don't throw the towel in on Beckett because he lost 2 starts. Cause I have a feeling you'd be the guy pissing and moaning if he got traded away then came back and beat the Marlins' asses. "WHY DID WE TRADE THAT GUYA? DAMN!" Being a fan is a special thing. Don't give us all bad names cause you want to go 162-0

You should not be allowed to procreate. Some gene pools in this world need to be stopped!

Frankly Im suprised at the amount of responses you got for such a stupid post here. Guess since you post over and over, people feel your opinion (even though it seems it was made after you had to much to drink) must be worth something.

IMO only one cat on the field is in need of early discipline and that is A. Gonzo....he's the only one in need of benching till he figures out how to hit (and i dont wanna hear about his fielding...Mickey Mouse can field to).

:) He's obviously ugly enough to get Leann Tweeden in your book...

BTW: TRADE JUSH BECKETT!?!

WTF. You know how many teams slobber over that? That is by far the worst post of the year so far and their have been horrible ones.

Josh is a handsome fellow. Any one who posts that he's ugly is blowing off too much steam. :thumbdown

And I'm surprised to see negativity toward Dontrelle. :mischief2 I think he's a neat guy and he's pitched well thus far.

Didnt you look at the sarcasm meter? It's off the charts.

OMG!!!

Why are our fans so fickle? Damn, we live in weak times. I agree...this has got to be a joke - because if you are serious, I am not sure whether to laugh or cry for you.

Wins are the worst measure of a pitchers skills.

wow.

thank god that you're not our GM, thank God

Trade him to Atlanta and I will be happy.

Real happy.

But other than that, Beckett's still Jesus, and 2 bad starts shouldn't be alarming.
