Marlins2003
Arriola said they have a "working agreement" as of last night. While no longer attached the two stadiums will share an entertainment atrium. They are taking the Marlins at their word that he can build it for $325 million. They are $30 million short. Samson is going to Tallahassee today to try and find that last component. Everything is contingent on selling the Arena.

Marlins2003
A 2500 car garage will be built. Land has come available that will make the plan a reality. He dodged the question of eminent domain.

Marlins2003
Considering they need a 20,000 car garage I don't know why they're even bothing with a 2,500 car one. Makes no sense whatsoever but its better than nothing.

Hotcorner
thanks Marlins03, I was only able to catch about half of that before I had to leave my car for work.... He also made the statement that if they weren't quite able to get everything done this year, he felt almost certain that this would be done next year. ....and what the F is an entertainment atrium? is that anything like Cheetas Adult Cabaret? :lol bothers me he didn't address the eminent domain issue, and yeah 2500 cars isn't enough, but anything will help I suppose. FishFan24
2500 car garage huh? Could either be an extra perk for the Season Ticket holders, or it would be nice as a first come, first serve kinda thing :mischief2 But this is definately good news! Marlins2003
One of the big stumbling blocks in negotiations has been who controls the concessions and it looks like the City has won that battle.
FishFan24
Wait until you see the 2007 version of the Marlins Mermaids Who can argue? You can catch a great baseball game, then you go over to the Atrium to see the Marlins Mermaids? Got to put those girls through school somehow! :notworthy

So run this by me again. The Marlins are going to get what benefits out of this new stadium and what is the city going to get?
Flamarlins3
I get the feeling that the deal isn't much better than the Huizeinga one. Could be wrong though

Hotcorner
well that's been my point the whole time. don't build a stadium just to show off a pretty roof....
