May 3, 200422 yr Pedro broke off negotiatiosn with the Sox this week. Anyone think the Marlins might allow Pavano to leave or trade Penny to make a run at Pedro?
May 3, 200422 yr NO :banghead dude, I don't want to be a b***h or anything, but where the hell do you live???? The Marlins have a limited payroll, even more now that they're spending a s***load towards building a new stadium. It is a priority for this team to maintain the team's nucleus intact: beckett, penny, cabs, willis...they'll all be free agents in a couple of years. Committing a large chunk of money towards a player in decline is out of the question, although I'm sure we'll see some big signings for the 2007 season. Yet, it'll be nice to see what the team decides to do with the 10 mill that'll be freed after they stop paying Hampton. :mischief2
May 3, 200422 yr Pedro to South Florida = Instant love. I think the fans would really likt him down here but I don't like him. He would be great to have though. Beckett, Burnett, Pedro, D-Train. Damn. But it's not happening unless we trade either Pavano and/or Penny.
May 3, 200422 yr im all for that!!!!! i would love to see pedro in teal! that would be unbelievable!!! ROTATION martinez willis beckett penny pavano wooow, now that's a killer rotation! but its up to martinez and the front office and the budget... im just hopin thats all. but man, martinez here would be pretty sweet!

May 3, 200422 yr I'll pass, I think that Pedro is past his prime and I like our roation as it is. But if A.J. dosent fully recover from the surgury then maybe Pedro could come in and provide some veteran leadership to our young guns.
May 3, 200422 yr About the last thing this team needs is to sign Pedro :fyou agreed no need for more pitching. I dont think he would fit in very well either
May 3, 200422 yr how about we use that money to sign our young starters long term? You betcha :thumbup
May 3, 200422 yr Just what we'd need, an overpaid, asshat that bitches all the time and would want at least 15 million a year. :banghead I'd rather spend our money on resigning our current staff, adding bullpen help, and go after a good SS or OFer next year.

May 3, 200422 yr just to add fuel to the fire: Pedro has said that Miami is his #1 choice if he can't stay in Boston. Now I don't know how we're going to come up with that money, nor do I think he'd be a necessary acquisition, we're pretty strong on starting pitching as it is. We'll see, nothing would put fans in the seats more than Pedro though, could be interesting, but I think he'll end up staying in Boston...
May 3, 200422 yr If you don't mind, I'd rather stick to the young guns we have now :thumbup Imagine what one of if not the greatest pitcher ever could teach them.
May 3, 200422 yr The last thing we need is an overpaid, stuck up and arrogant pitcher, ruining our clubhouse chemistry... I can think of better things to blow 15 mill. on
May 3, 200422 yr If you don't mind, I'd rather stick to the young guns we have now :thumbup Imagine what one of if not the greatest pitcher ever could teach them. Yes WC, teach em to constantly b*tch about anything... No thanks...

I'm not saying Pedro's a cancer but 15 mil on him is a waste...
