It's funny how a bad road-trip like this causes all of you to panic. Everyone is talking about who should be traded and sent to triple A. I mean it's not like doing bad on a West Coast Roadtrip is new to this team. Last season we did a lot worse on that roadtrip, I was not in here at the time but I'd bet you guys were saying "Season Over" or something along those lines. I mean our pitching staff (Bullpen Especially) did a terrific job through the first 16 games or so. There are players in slumps on both our pitching staff and offense. But all in all our offense has been scoring a ton of runms for us. I say our Offenese is less of a problem than you guys make it seem. Also, as far as pitching goes. Everyone is quick to jump on the bullpen here, I mean they were heavily overused on this roadtrip, I am not making excuses for them but the bottom line is our starting pitching failed us also (not just Oliver). We are coming home now, we got a days rest, Beckett is starting and will hopefully have a solid start to give our bullpen an extra day off. I was laughing pretty hard when I came onto the forum this morning and all I see is "Oli..sucks part 3" "f-- gonzo" "f--- Oliver" "trades..." "bump to triple A" etc etc... It's like everytime a guy YOU dislike has a bad day it's time to start the HATE threads...

 

Hey if that makes you happy then go for it.... all I am saying is think about the positives too....

I'm not in a panic. Sure a 4-3 or 5-2 road trip would have been better, but does anyone remember last year's trip to Colorado and San Fran? :mischief2

 

Exactly. This road trip was much more productive and we are still in first place!! Other than the bullpen, the team has been playing great and its still a long season

We are still in a good position...leading the NL East.

 

It will be great to have the team back home, where they can settle in, get refocused and get the job done.

 

The early part of the season is a learning exercise....to find out which combinations work. Adjustments will be made adn by mid-season we should be on a roll.

I agree there is no need to panic, but I don't mind people pointing out that players are not performing. Last year we got better as the season went along, and a big reason why is because by the end of the year all of the players that weren't performing at the beginning of the year (Nunez, Hollandsworth, Almanza) were either not with the team or were on the bench.

As if we need people to POINT out who is doing bad. We all know who is struggling. We don't need a new thread for every bad outing Darren Oliver has or or everytime Agon strikes out. I will admit that there are only a few guys who come here to post those threads. This message is obviously not directed at you if you have something constructive to say and NOT something that is completely obvious. If you are gonna point something out that maybe we hadn;t thought about then it's totally understandable.

THE OBVIOUS - Darren Oliver sucks, Agon struggles at the plate, Bump is not the best of releivers, Castro is slumping. Ok we all know about these guys and their struggles... We don't need a new thread about these guys everyday. I have a recommendation to make to the moderators in this board. How about we start a Complaint Forum where people can go and b***h and moan about these guys everyday and that way it makes this Forum a little easier to read.

By 2.5 games at that too. Some things will need to be changed, but from where I sit if you told me the marlins had 16 out of first 25 games away and a big west coast trip, and the marlins would still be in first place by 2.5 games I'd be elated so good first month in my book :thumbup

Anyone remember the last time the Marlins were in first place this late into the season. I love these posts about how every little mistake or miscue is a disaster waiting to grow into a catastrophe. Its as if the players aren't trying hard enough because they're in first place. Honestly with the exception of a game here or there the Marlins have had a chace to win just about every game this season. They're playing forty percentage points higher than last year. My how the expectations have changed.

Give the team some credit. Last year they needed players and went out and got them, this season now a month old and pieces are still falling into place. The team that left Jupiter last spring was not the same team that won the series, just like this will not be the team for the rest of this season. When changes are needed they will be made, but not by you or me.

I am not against negative... hell I get pissed all the time and cuss out Agon when he looks rediculous at the plate. Hell I almost threw a baseball at my TV the other day watching Dtrain blow a 7 run lead. The point I am TRYING to make is that we do not need to make a NEW thread about the same CRAP everytime someone is pissed. We are all fans we can all see that Oliver sucks and Agon is struggling, and we need Bullpen help... We don't need 20 diffren tthreads to tell us this. Whatever I am done on this subject.... I will not say another WORD about this anymore... Sorry if I upset anyone, but just as you guys have your opinions I also have mine!
