why is everyone saying that the Padres will draw good crowds? I know they're better this year, but they've sucked badly the past couple of years! I'm pretty excited about Sat.s game though...first game of the season, flying in from Philly!!!

wait till the school season ends? Seriously other teams are puttin out more than 13k a game...and they didnt win the World Series last year. I've tried so hard to stick up for So Fla fans...but outings like this are absolutely pathetic. I would hate to see em leave Florida (I'd love to see em move to North Florida), but fans HAVE to be better than that.

We are the World Champs, we are in 1st place in the NL East, we are playing the TEAM with the best record in the NL and we can't even draw 15K?

 

I mean I am really upset, this is just pathetic, what does that say about the majority of fans in SouthFLA? I mean we are on a minor loosing streak and people decide not to show up rather than support their team. I am glad we will be getting a stadium down south, I really beleive we can draw better in a stadium close to downtown. =)

I am also disappointed I was one of the people at the start of the season that didnt belive that the bandwagon fans from last year would come back this year. At the start of the season I was optimistic that I had been proved wrong, but I am starting to belive that my thoughts all along were right and that is that "fans" here in Florida wont go to see their team if they are on anything close to a losing streak and if they dont get a giveaway. I dont want the Fish to leave Florida but all of these fake fans arent helping that.

Well, being as it is Finals Week for Seniors in my school, AP week for everyone else around my age, it is a Mexican holiday, there is school tomorrow, the stadium is in casa cimbamba, we are playing the Dodgers, and there was a chance of rain again, I don't really blame people that much. Let's get the bad crowds out of the way now.

 

But under 20k for any game this weekend is inexcusable.

I still think the only way the bandwagon fans are going to go to the game is if their is a giveaway, because they expect to get rewarded for going to the game, because they dont go to the game to for the joy of seeing the Marlins live in action.

this weekend will definitely have more than 20 k a game because of the weekend plans and mini plans. less than 25k is unexusable maybe except on sunday.

It is disappointing, but it's damn hard to make it to the stadium by 7 if you're working till 5 like most people. Traffic is hell in Miami and that's not a fun drive.

The stadium is in the middle of nowhere, its far from everybody, the traffic getting there is insane, and people have to work. I work till 5 and i start at 6 so its not that easy to come out there everynight and im not the only one. And plus in my opinion the 4 game losing streak isnt what cost us attendance, its the heat being in the playoffs and aldo the stadium controversy dismays some people. The real question is with the exception of tuesday (game 7) how many people are watching the marlins on TV. I watch every game that i dont go to and so do most people, including the large of amount of elderly marlin fans that live in sofla. Attendance is doing better and if the stadium gets resolved and after the heat's run ends (with or w/o a title) the fans will go to more games
