AAA by august, we'll see him in the bigs by september 2005 at this rate

En Fuego!

I predict he'll be traded by the trade deadline, and hopefully he keeps hitting like this especially if we end up going after Kendall, we might be able to get Pittsburgh to pay off a considerable amount of Kendall's contract if we give them Stokes and a couple other players. I love Stokes, I think he's going to be a great player, but he's a first baseman and we've got 1st base covered and once Conine retires Hermida is the heir apparent in the outfield not Stokes.

i think we could kendall for less, maybe more prospects of less value? it's gonna take some major prospects for the Pirates to eat any of Kendall's contract since they aren't exactly a large market team with lots of money.

i think we could kendall for less, maybe more prospects of less value? you have no where to put him, might as well let him go to a team that he would play with

and Hutch was pretty good tonight..... not many strikeouts but a good game nonetheless

by the way, Stokes homered for his 4th straight game(not sure if that was mentioned)

gotta think Willingham is about to turn this around, yesterday he went 2/4 with a bomb, and today he had the game winning rbi.... let's hope the hits keep on comin

i think we could kendall for less, maybe more prospects of less value? I agree. I'd rather give up three decent prospects than one great one. At one point I felt that Stokes would be the part of a mid-season acquisition for us, but the way he's catching up to his old self now, he should stay. Now I know what you're thinking, we have the up-and-coming super-star in Choi for the next 5 years, why keep Stokes? Because, as sad as it sounds, Mr. Marlin can't be in left field forever. Playing there will slowly shorten his career IMO, and he won't be with us opening day of 2006. If Stokes has any place on this team as a full-time guy, it's going to be in left field.

P.S.: I have a question; Stokes is 21 or 22?

Stokes has a head start.

Hermedia will probably be called up to AA shortly.

Yes Jeremy could be ready by opening day 2006.

Fairly easily.

While I do agree to that for the most part, I don't think Stokes should be dealt at the deadline unless it is for someone(s) stellar.

Babe Ruth

He can pitch AND hit

We can't trade away another 1B. First Gonzalez, then Lee, now you guys wanna trade Stokes too? And Choi is off to a hot start and I'm not saying he's bad or anything, but I think he has to prove himself before we go trading away prospect after prospect.

He's been proving himself for 14 months when he's given playing time.
