May 13, 200422 yr That's incredibly fast, and it makes me a little hesitant to declare him ready. Fast recovery times are wonderful, but for the sake of this franchise I hope he isn't rushing. Not really. It takes usually 12-15 months. It's about normal really. The incredible thing is that he's recovered to the point where he's throwing 97 MPH. Yeah, and he says he isn't trying. W.O.W.
May 13, 200422 yr i'll be in New Jersey on June 2nd... Wow, i'm excited, but i'm a bit scared better sooner than later though, if he comes back when he's 30, i'll still be nervous
May 13, 200422 yr If AJ comes back in a starter role I would expect he will be limited to 5 innings and/or 90 pitches for a month or two.
May 13, 200422 yr I'm pretty sure that AJ has thought long and hard about this. He's talked with Jack, Rosey, the team, doctors, everyone. And if he says he's ready, I believe him. And if the doctors say he's ready, he's ready. I sure as hell won't listen to dumbass Peter Gammons who says it take almost 20 months to come back. Burnett is ready. God, our rotation will be so nasty.
May 14, 200422 yr Man AJ was electric in the Clips they showed in the middle of the marlins game. I cant wait to see him throw in a rehab game! I would of loved to see more embarrassment by AJ to Easly and Harris.
May 14, 200422 yr There better be 70000 or I'm cracking skulls. seriously, after waiting a whole year, the local coppers will hv to put me in a cell in order to miss this one.
May 14, 200422 yr I wanted to go but this game has a 1:05 start time. That sucks, maybe I will have to catch him on his 2nd start back?
May 14, 200422 yr There wont be that many more people at the game than usual when he comes back. He doesnt have the name power that dontrell does.
May 14, 200422 yr Jets mania what planet are you from , AJ is one of the biggest pitching phenoms in MLB . Are you sure your talking about the same AJ Burnett as we are?
May 14, 200422 yr The problem isn't is AJ a big name or not The problem is will the bandwagoners remember who AJ Burnett is?
May 14, 200422 yr i already have tickets 4 every home saturday game of the season so im all set :thumbup :o I am so incredibly jealous!
May 14, 200422 yr If he comes back strong, they won't have to remember who he was. they have nothing to remember
May 14, 200422 yr The problem isn't is AJ a big name or not The problem is will the bandwagoners remember who AJ Burnett is? :lol
May 14, 200422 yr AJ Burnett is not a big name. he just isnt.... but he will be Ramp, on this one I think you're less right than usual. My kid (age 10) and his friends are always asking "when's AJ coming back", seeing him in the dugout, etc. He is a big name, at least locally. I think you forget how "big" he was one, two years ago. Where people have forgotten Preston Wilson, CJ, Demp and Floyd, AJ still has a big following locally and will draw bigtime when he returns.

My kids get excited every time they see AJ in the dugout, or before the game. They can't wait to see him come back. Attendance will be up the day he returns, no doubt. The afternoon start time will make it difficult for some to attend. I am going to take the afternoon off so I can make the game.

I know some people who dont know so much about the Marlins and they ask me a lot when is that pitcher(AJ) coming back?
