June 1, 200422 yr Author bulls***, someone struggles and you all want him gone. Cabs slumps at the plate last year and with the glove and you all want him on the bench. Willis struggles and you all want him in the bullpen. Redmond was dispensible because of the all mighty Castro. Remember the calls to "Free Castro?" Conine slumps and you all want him on the bench. Get control of yourselves. It is a slump, but Castro a major leaguer, he will get out of it. slumps last for a couple of weeks. not a couple of months. genius. well "genius" what is your perfect solution?
June 1, 200422 yr Author Well, Beinfest better do something about the catcher situation fast or this board might turn into an insane asylum. Already there
June 1, 200422 yr Well, Beinfest better do something about the catcher situation fast or this board might turn into an insane asylum. Already there oh it can get worse. Another 0-4 night from Castro and things can get even uglier.

Castro, while not my favorite style of catcher, is still better from what I have observed at catching than the other two.

It's the same situation we had in Left Field last year, although we don't have a Miguel Cabrera at catcher. We gave the young guy a chance to earn the starting job before we went and made a trade for a left fielder. It worked out quite well for us last year, and it couldn't hurt for us to give Willingham or Treanor a chance to play before we go dealing our farm system away.

June 1, 200422 yr whoever says that Castro is in a slump and that he'll eventually will get out of it hasn't seen the Marlins play this year.
June 1, 200422 yr link please? I want his defensive stats too. I cant find his defensive numbers anywhere link to his 3 errors
June 1, 200422 yr Willingham went 4/7 in ST by the way Cape. he shoudl of gone 5/7 or 6/7 maybe then he would of earned the job.
June 1, 200422 yr link please? I want his defensive stats too. From reports I've read in prospect books hes at least average defensively with lots of room to improve. Hes probably got the best OBP of any catcher in the minors.

If he earns his way to #1, more power to him, but he is not up here for a reason, why?
June 1, 200422 yr Someone needs to pull a Tanya Harding on his ass. Take a crow bar to the knees in a dark alley somewhere. :lolup I still prefer my solution...simple quick and easy...
