The defending World Series Champion Anaheim Angels come to Pro Player Stadium tonight for the first of a 3-game weekend series. Kevin Appier will be vying for his third straight win. The veteran righty hasn't lost since April 14th and came within 1 strike of a shutout in his last start Saturday in Tampa. For the Marlins, Carl Pavano will try to rebound from his worst outing of the season. Sunday against the Reds he was chased after just 3 1/3 innings, giving up 9 runs and watching his ERA jump nearly a point.

 

Despite their World Series title the Angels are playing the underdog once again this season, a game over .500 and already trailing division leader Seattle by 10 games. They arrive with red-hot bats however after a series with Montreal in which they hit 15 homers and outscored the Expos 33-14. Garrett Anderson leads the charge, hitting four homers in his last two games.

Thanks, Pudge. They steal second on you, Then you can't handle a lousy 85 MPH curve from Pavano, then the Sac fly gets the run in.

 

I guess the only way he can make it up is to go out there offensively and K a couple of times, maybe a GIDP or two, as well.

that DaVanon guy is a beast who came out of nowhere. Batting in upper .300's with 8 homers in less than 100 AB's
