Cabrera Very Hard to Watch at Right Field

Featured Replies

For those of you defending Cabrera's defense, please don't, we all know he's been awful for the most part in right field, and it's no use sugar coating it.

Is Conine slow? Yes, but speed is an overrated thing in the OF. You guys have Pierre in center, who can cover A TON of ground, and Conine is good at defensive positioning as well as taking good routes to the ball, which will make up for some of his speed.

The only problem I see with switching Conine and Cabrera in Left and Right is Conine's arm, but we won't figure out how that will work out unless Jack gives it a try....

agreed.

speed is most useful in centerfield.

when you have a gazelle in center field you dont need speed burners on the corners.

conine is an excellent outfielder who uses his head to properly position himself and has a great first step out there.

you can tell he has been in the outfield for years.

speed is not really needed at any position on the field.....center being generally the exception.

its all about quickness, especially that first step.

not only does he look more and more like manny ramirez (appearance wise) everyday, but hes also playing like him

As an outfielder with defense being my only strength...

Conine should play in right, the arm is rarely used to get someone at the plate from that field.

Cabs is used to being on the left side and his arm is good enough to nail runners.

My only concern is the wall in LF at Pro Player which he hasn't had the best of interactions with.

Very true, but at the same time putting Conine in right means more runners are going to be able to go from 1st to 3rd on singles to right field, or tag and go from 2nd to 3rd on flyouts of medium to deep depth in right field.

Not ripping you, after all I'd like to see Conine in right too, just playing the devil's advocate here.

Cabrera still needs some more time, but if by the All Star Break he isn't changing, we need to change his position.

Miguel will hit 30 home runs. This I guarentee.

Really sticking your head out into the fire with that prediction aren't ya kid?

:plain Isn't it amazing when there isn't a single debate about a 21-year-old hitting 30 home runs?

:D
