minors would have helped, too much pressure on a guy who isnt sharp and has no movement on his heater.

AJ's attitude is making this situation very difficult because you know if we had sent him to the bullpen he would have thrown a fit, and he definitely would've thrown a fit if they extended his rehab assignment. Hell, he threw a fit when they moved his start back one day.

It's only a matter of time until he becomes sharp, and if you put him in the pen you don't want him to physically or mentally grow into that role. His fastball DID have movement, and his curve was biting more than it wasn't. He needs a third pitch to offset the two.

 

Putting Burnett in the pen is idiotic.
