June 15, 200323 yr If Gonzalez dosent pan out Stokes could always be moved to 1b, of couse this need would only be necessary if Lee is traded. Now lets say Lee is not traded are you still going to be Stokes at 1b? He could be more valuable at LF is not like he will ever win a GG at 1b.
June 15, 200323 yr Adrian is a pretty smooth defensively i hear... but he cant play OF I know that's why it is Stokes who has to move. Even is he is slow. Is not a big deal if he's slow. There's many LF who are slow and still are solid out there.
June 15, 200323 yr i think the Marlins have pretty good OF depth at the moment. Hollandsworth IMO is a great 4th OFer. one of the best in the game. he'd be a starter with most teams.
June 15, 200323 yr OK Burnettheat, do you really want to hear what I think they are going to do? Luis is w/o a doubt going to be traded in July, that's a given, and I don't really mind it too much. I think Lee is going to ride the season out with us, and will be traded in November, so the team that gets him has to take care of his arbitration and can sign him to the deal they want to offer him. I don't think Lowell is leaving. Mike Lowell is the only star power this franchise has. He is the reason 6,000 of the 12,000 fans are out in the stands. If he leaves, attendance and wins go down. He is Making $4 Million this season. He will at the MOST make $8 Million. After this team drops the salaries of Lee and Castillo and replaces them with league minimum prospects, he is affordible. Mike Lowell is a player that's going to steal the title of "Mr. Marlin" away from Conine, if anybody. I think they will keep the door open for a trade of Todd Hollandsworth if the opprotunity arose. BTW: Ravenlord, Todd is our starting LF...

June 15, 200323 yr BTW: Ravenlord, Todd is our starting LF... i thought Banks was the starter. it seems like everytime i've seen the Marlins this year (except way back in their first series against Atlanta, and a game against the Reds) Banks is in LF, not Hollandsworth. Wild Card, i agree with you on what Florida's player moves will probably be, unless they keep winning. though i'm not as optimistic as Ramp. even if they keep winning, i think they'll still end up trading Castillo because of Juan Pierre.
