Too Small

Featured Replies

If we get the deal done...do you think 38,000 is too small?

i would like it around 42-45 thousand...thoughts?

Just make sure there are wide walkways for standing room.

I stood for most of the WS & it was fine.

Not many people are going to listen to The Marlins pitching for more seats. Like has been said, they should model it somewhat like the phils were their is at least enough room for 3 k of standing room and their all in great sight locations.

their budget is tight as is more seats raise costs.

where is the standing room at PPS?

That's what I was wondering. Is it at the top of the aisles?

Standing room in new baseball stadiums is awesome. I could stand for a year at CBP in Philly.

36,000 is toooo small, when we play the cubs, or yanks. half the stadium will be filled with opposing fans. especially in post season. at least in the pro, theres so many people that can fill it up, theres enough marlins fans to drown out the cheering opposing fans.

they dont need more seats, we are lucky when we get 25k a game.. shame how many fans down here are fairweathered... oh well, better chances of foul balls for us with the fairweathered fans!

and yeah, we'd make a little more in the playoffs with 42-45k, but it probably wouldnt offset building costs until 2 or 3 years of world series in the stadium.

i think a smaller capacity would mean LESS yankee or cub fans. because you wouldn't have to sell 65,000 tickets. tickets will become more exclusive.

38k is fine it will be like PNC and Wrigley a more intimate feel.

38K is good, yet I hope there are provisions to increase capacity if this turns into the market we believe it can.

i hope so to.

Dodger Stadium has this 4th upperdeck which seats like 5-6 thousands and it's only opened during the post season, i'm sure we would do something like that.

Exactly.

Do you guys know what the maximum seating capacity of Wrigley is? 39,345. That is it.

I have been to Wrigley. It is a very nice park - eventhough it has some structural issues. The seating is all covered - except for the OF seats. It has no real luxury boxes, which is weird. But it does the job and the fans obviously love it and are real passionate about Wrigley. Each game is like an event - like a college-football home game feel. And I know about that, too - being a Seminole.

I think this new field will be similar to Wrigley as the structure will be squeezed into its surroundings. It could work very nicely.

Open concourses > crab cakes

Yes, they're that good.

I have seen both, but am so used to closed concourses that I prefer them. I like being able to get up and go out there and be able to stare at something other than a baseball game for a minute or two. It is just too much baseball to digest sometimes.

Hogwash.

You can never have too much baseball.

Think the aquarium might be open on game days?

yes

I agree 40k is not that small sometimes i wish that the skydome is smaller. Although when the dome is full it s rockin like a college atmosphere. It works both ways.
