August 1, 200422 yr we lost. but you know what, the team showed alot tonight and we found our team leader his name is Paul Lo Duca tomorrow begins the Marlins stretch run, we got all our horses in the lineup it's on.
August 1, 200422 yr I agree, and you know what else I liked about the game tonight...there was clearly a goat. Manzanillo should not be allowed to touch a ball in a close/late situation ever again. Losing like that hurts big time, but having one guy blow it is better than a collective ineptitude as we've seen as recently as yesterday. Nice to see Paul so fired up after that HR, and even nicer to see that we're at least going to score runs...and with everyone here tomorrow, we're bound to get on a roll.
August 1, 200422 yr Its nice to see Juan Enc back in your avatar, Ramp :thumbup And you are right! From August 1st on, its on! :mad :
August 1, 200422 yr We should've had this one. Lo Duca, in his first Marlin AB, provides a late spark, puts us up by one....I hate to say it, but last year's team would've won this game. But we are NOT last year's team. It doesn't get any easier. 5.5 games out of the East and the Braves are hot. We HAVE to beat teams like the Expos. HAVE TO. August will show just what these guys are made of.
August 1, 200422 yr we have lost 5 straight to the second worst team in the freaking league. thats just sad, pathetic, inexcuseable. all the good stuff from the philly games has been wasted. that being said..... the marlins need to play .750 ball in august.
August 1, 200422 yr we have to play brewers and arizona next. hopefully we dont face randy and sheets. although i think we face randy thursday, not sure though.
August 1, 200422 yr the brewers are a decent team....but they are playing like crap right now. arizona is just crap.

August 1, 200422 yr it was really only a matter of time, sorry to say it, before Manzanillo started returning to form. he's had a nice run here, but there was a reason he wasn't playing anywhere... too bad Mota wasn't available tonight. now we just need Koch to be the 7th inning guy to get it to Mota & Mando.
August 1, 200422 yr too bad Mota wasn't available tonight. now we just need Koch to be the 7th inning guy to get it to Mota & Mando. 488033[/snapback] Actually, we could REALLY use the starter to go 7. That would help us A LOT.

August 1, 200422 yr I'm thinking he might not have pitched in a few days and he just wanted to make sure he'd get some work regardless of if it were in the game or not.
August 1, 200422 yr I would really like to see McKeon start showing some faith in Koch. The guy has been pretty decent. As someone already said, Manzanillo is a 36 year old journey man for a reason. He's not all of a sudden going to be a lights out kind of pitcher. Koch was brought here to setup. We now have Mota, so Koch should be our 7th inning guy. To look on the bright side... I liked what I saw tonight (minus the grand slam obviously)... Tomorrow things will change. Lo Duca and Encarnacion join the lineup and we get two good relievers in Mota and Seanez in our bullpen... The next two months should be very exciting. And why are the friggin Braves doing so well?? I really hate that team. This was supposed to be the year they faded away.... :banghead
