Starting Pitchers

Featured Replies

All 5 of them have done a great job. they have gone 34.2 innings and have allowed 6 runs in the last 5 games. thats why i believe that we can make it to the playoffs and why we would be a very dangerous team and teams would be scared to play us in the playoffs.

Valdez 6IP 0 runs

D-Train 7.2IP 2 runs

Beckett 6IP 1 run

Pavano 8IP 1 run

AJ 7IP 2 runs

Also start using Damien Easliy more often just like Tommy said put him in 3 times a week.

I agree we should start using Damien Easily more often because he is a great player. His talent is being wasted as a bench player. Hes proven himself that he should be in the starting lineup more often. Hes always having his great 3-4 games with a homer and a couple of RBI's.

let's not go THAT far mothman..... but sure, everyone would like Easley's bat in there a little more often, it's just a matter of finding a defensive spot that you can risk him at, & finding someone to sit. obviously 2B is his best spot, but tough to sit Castillo much...

& yes the starters were fantastic this time through the rotation. keep it up!

and to think we only went 2-3.

hey............... :o

This team should be riding a 7 game winning streak, but whatever. I hope they can continue this streak and hopefully the offense will come around. :thumbup

Nah, the fish will just sweep em'.

I have been very impressed, Valdez is facing his personal bitches again tomorrow which is good. PItching is there. If healthy we all knew it could be one of the best pitching rotations in baseball. They are beginning to show it. Need to keep pitching well, try not to let the offensive woes get to their head. Just keep it coming, and this team will win games.

All of those starts were worthy of wins, but only two were. :banghead

Yep. Should have been 5-0.

This stretch shows why the Marlins are merely a .500 ballclub. They can't score enough runs to produce wins for these starters. Also, it shows even further why Beinfest made a horrible trade. Starting pitching is what made us formidable. We had 4 top level starters who could consistently give us these kinds of outings (Beckett, Burnett, Pavano, and Penny) with a fifth (Willis) who could do it inconsistently but would still be possibly the best 5th starter in the league. In the playoffs, you drop Willis and you have 4 outstanding pitchers who can give you outstanding starts. Now we have 3 pitchers with an inconsistent 4 and a bad 5, and our offense is no better. We still cannot score enough runs to win consistently or threaten other teams. So all in all, we got worse, much worse.

STFU

you would rather have an unproven 1B and a pitcher who is now injured and wouldnt be here next year anyway? we dont win any games last week without loduca's bat

At least someone is on their senses...thanks, kissthesungoodbye...

Swede...I really don't understand your point. Our pitching has been ridiculous for the past few days, Lo Duca has kept us afloat for the past few days, Encarnacion has had a couple of hits in the past few days, and you still criticize the trade??? The only way a mentally sane person could challenge this trade is if our starting pitching were blowing...but IT AIN'T!

5 runs.....that's all the Cards scored

However, we only won one.

Time for the offense to start catching up to the pitching. They didn't do THAT well today, the Cards' defense basically shot themselves in the foot most of the game. We probably deserved three of those runs, four at most. Still good enough to win however.

What I hope is that the offense starts taking advantage of every chance they get, like they did today. Ride the wave of confidence.
