My dad will be meeting the President on Monday

Featured Replies

*waits for some kind of snide remark*

anyway my parents are friends of friends of the President and those friends are having the President over for dinner on Monday night..... it's a $50,000 per plate dinner but those friends asked my dad to take pictures of the event(no, my dad is not a photographer, just does it on the side)

anyway, assuming he gets clearance(which I am sure he would get), he will get to meet the President

that is all :thumbup

$50,000 per plate?

Does this money go to anything constructive? God forbid it goes to a charity, sholarship fund, or anything though.

Edit: It's pretty sweet to meet the President regardless of affiliation.

:thumbup

I believe the money goes toward his campaign...

This believe is not founded on any factual evidence unless ramp can confirm that its a campaign fundraising dinner

Um, why would Bush be doing anything but campaigning in the most important 3 weeks of the election?

because a charity dinner can woo large groups of ppl into voting in a policians favor, there is as likely a chance

How many people paying 55k a plate to see George Bush do you think are wooable? :shifty

Well, at this point both candidates have relinquished personal campaign advertising funds and are using public financing for the stretch run, so I couldn't see how the money could go to the campaign, at least directly.

Also, I don't know how donations over $2,000 to a campaign would be permitted, either.

Perhaps this money goes to the post-election legal fund...or maybe charity.

wtf $50,000 a plate? :confused it better be an all you can eat type of thing and for $50,000 even i would borrow the big purse my grandma takes to church. hell i might show up with a couple of garbage bags and clean out.

what an honor to see or meet the President!

My cousin worked for the Clinton administration and when I was in high school, I went up to DC and got to meet President Clinton in the White House. At the time I had no political opinion, so it was really awesome to meet THE PRESIDENT, he is a really cool, calm guy. I would love to meet President Bush, but my cousin would rather die than work for him, or the Republicans.
