We need to strike a deal with the DBacks for Randy and trade him to the Yankees. It is time to change our team for the long term and help secure our stadium. Marlins/DBack Trade ? Trade Alex Gonz., Lo Duca, Enc, and a couple prospects (a pitcher or two) for Randy Johnson. That will be close to the money than they?d owe Randy this year. That would help set up their future nicely, and I think they?d take it for Randy, IMO. Marlins/Yankee Trade - We get ARod, Yankee catching prospect, and cash from Yankees to get ARod?s contract down to 10-12 million a year for Randy and Lowell. I?m not sure how much the Rangers owe the Yankees for future payments, but we need to get our payments down to around 10-12 million a year. ARod has the name to market as the face of the Marlins and secure our stadium. We could use their catching prospect to platoon with Redmond. The Yankees don?t need him since they have Posada. George is pissed and has shown he?ll go all out for a player and overpay for him. Lowell can take over for ARod at third and they?d get the pitcher they want. I doubt he?s happy with ARod right now. Hopefully it would be enough to secure the rest of the stadium financing and pay off for Loria in the long run. We have Hampton?s $11 million coming off the books after this year, and we could always use that $11 million to pay off the extra couple million they?d spend this year under this plan.
