November 16, 200421 yr Nov. 16 - Marlins GM Admin Beinfest has contacted Chad Fox's agent and expressed interest in re-signing him, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported. Any offer likely won't be guaranteed, but that doesn't bother Fox, whose chief concern is proving he's healthy. The right-hander spent all but last season's first month on the disabled list with an elbow injury. Fox has resumed a throwing program and hopes to be ready for spring training -- somewhere. "Obviously ? I'd like to be (with the Marlins)," said Fox, who earned $1.2 million in 2004 despite pitching in just 12 games. "I feel I owe it to Florida to come back and help them out. ? November 16, 200421 yr I believed in Pavano since he first came here, but I think that he won't be a big loss to us leaving because I expect him to have a 2005 off from the last 2 years.

November 17, 200421 yr I hope the Marls give him a shot in ST to earn a spot in the pen, but regardless of whether he'll be on the team, its would be good to see him back in the majors soon.
November 17, 200421 yr Great news to hear that Chad is making an effort to come back after all those surgeries he has had. Now this guy is a good reliever, just what we need.
November 17, 200421 yr They should definintely offer him a minor league contract, and if he proves healthy he can be a big boost to our bullpen, even if he isnt 100% of what he was in 2003. I dont believe pavano in fenway will post the numbers he did with us here, so he should go, which frees up money to round up our rotation, bullpen, and lineup. We need to take low risk gambles with players like fox. If he fails no big deal but if he succeeds he can really help the club
