The Tigers beefed up their bullpen by signing Troy Percival to a two-year, $12 million deal, Jayson Stark reports. It's expected Detroit will try to trade Ugueth Urbina, whose option they had picked up earlier in the offseason.

Other than that, every other year he has been one of the top 5 closers in the league. Oh by the way, in his so-called terrible year in 2003, he still had better #'s than Percival did last year.

November 18, 200421 yr We'll have to wait and see how good of a pickup this is. It is a lot of money to be giving an aging, injury prone closer. Urbina as of right now is the closer, but is more than likely going to be dealt. I wouldn't mind seeing him stay on though.
