Do you believe in evolution?

Featured Replies

Is this a question of evolution as our origin?

I believe evolution occurs all the time. I think it's occured to us too. But I don't think it's our origin.

Just look at the woman you love and tell yourself she came from a glob of cells billions of years ago.

BTW, I'm not voting "No, the evidence is not there" because evidence is there.

This isnt big bang or origin of the universe. That Ill admit is impossible to prove any which way. Im talking about evolution.

I dont adjust how much I love someone based on their possible billion year old ancestory.

has there been evolution and adaptation in nature? Yes. I think there is definitely evidence for that. But do I think that the source of our existence is described in the Evolution Theory? No.

I believe God created us. Really, the stuff confuses me, and I choose not to dwell on it. Because I don't want to put too much thought into finding out if I'm right or wrong? No. Because, it doesn't really interest me as much. There was a time when it did interest me, but I really do not like science (especially biology).

If you believe in evolution as the origin of our species, than you probably shouldn't believe that someone could possibly be "made for you." Just a thought I'm throwing out.

I'm not asking you to adjust your feelings for someone. Your feelings for someone should adjust your thoughts on this issue.

I for one do not think evolution is the origin of our species.

Well, you are thrusting your Biblical belief that God made a spouse for each and every one of us, thus clouding your judgement.

Nowhere did I state this. I'm making the case that a believer in evolution cannot believe this.

By the way, I do not believe in a spouse made by God for anyone.

Like I said, Im not debating source of existance. If you want to believe God created the universe, thats fine. But if you think there is evidence for evolution and hence think evolution exists, you end up on both sides of the fence IMO. Because the operations of evolution theory are such to show us as being the products of evolution.

how so? things evolve all over the place? Our football team has evolved into a mature team who knows how to win the close one. Earlier this year we were still at the point where we could not win a game that was decided by 1 score.

I think some things can evolve and adapt to it's surroundings, but it doesn't mean that I must believe that we evolved from a mass of cells who then morphed into a simple creature which then evolved into more complex creatures and eventually into us. I don't have to believe both to keep from straddling the fence.

Evolution is true and a fact of life. Religion also binds us and therefore, creationism is also a fact of life. Evolution is what I believe in and I believe in creationism as well, but if you look at it evolution is creationism, just over a longer drawn out period.

Do I believe it happened, is happening, and will happen? Yes. Do I think it started it all? No.

Yes, it's obvious. I'm sure the people who don't think evolution exists believe dinosaurs were created by the devil!

I feel that evolution is our origin. However I do also feel that religion plays a role in it too. Everything, including ourselves, is made of matter. Somehow, someway, matter was created. We?ve got matter from the dust and particles from stars, but where did the stars get matter? According to the ?Big Bang Theory? the universe started at one point and just suddenly expanded. We have evidence that it is still expanding because of star movement. Why did it suddenly expand? What created this universe? What is beyond this universe? This is where I think religion comes in. Everything must be created from something, so the universe had to be made from something; something caused it to be there. Now, that?s where I feel the Man Upstairs started to create everything.

isn't creationism obvious? i mean, it deffinitely is impossible that life started with some aminoacids inside a bubble, right?

goes both ways pal.

Yeah, it's obvious some entity created the universe in 7 days :mischief
